2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂
rossyste replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
It's on record the reason Weimann and Batth signed last summer was because they accepted lower than average wages because they both had a point to prove. Blackburn Rovers were shopping in the bargain basement then and are doing exactly the same this summer. Weimann and Batth both proved there worth to Eustace and have followed him to Derby due to better wages and the club having more ambition than ours. If you want to keep repeating the "we are clearly not skint" line then why did BRFC not offer them both 1 year deals on sensible/competitive wages ? -

Our relative “success” last season was clearly built on a strong team ethic. The departures of Weimann, Baath, Dolan and a few others is clearly going to change the dynamic regardless of how you rate them as individual players. It’s imperative the club keep Travis and Tronstad the heartbeat of the team. Gathering young, cheap, data driven lower league footballers from across Europe is a massive gamble without having a strong core to blend them in around. Name me a strong team/club leader if we flog Travis ? Let’s be honest we could drag a few tall, slim, athletic lads in there early 20’s from the local gym, stick them in Rovers shirts and they would look like footballers. Pivotal days ahead, I fear the worst -
My first game was the already mentioned Bury away promotion night 29th April 1980 aged 11. I was hooked. My first Dingle game was the 27th December 1982 stood on the Bee Hole End with my dad as the away end was full to capacity, what a day that was on and off the field🤣

It's just the same wishy washy spin every time. I respect the people who attend in particular the ones who ask the probing questions but when the club turn up mob handed they must drain the life out of the attendees with their well rehearsed answers. At the end of the day it's on Venkys, everything is on Venkys, they pay their stooges to "manage" the club and they are happy to bimble along, collecting big wages. Nothing will change until they are gone, it's sickening

I posted the below in December on the Transfer thread, I am certain many many others could see it all coming. There is simply no reason other than blind loyalty for buying a season ticket. There is nothing remotely ambitious about the club. I do feel the upcoming January transfer window represents a watershed moment for our beloved club. John Eustace is clearly getting the best out of our squad and his managerial stock is no doubt on the rise. I assume like most managers he will feel that whilst he is being backed he will continue but lets be honest attractive managerial vacancies will pop up early in the new year and that's the test Venkys I feel will fail. The window represents a realistic opportunity to bring in 2-3 additions to add depth and who knows where the season may end. I am not suggesting 10-12 Million will magically appear but if we spent a third of that it would give us the best chance in years to at least make the play offs. I fear a couple of cheap loans will probably mean when injuries kick in we fade into mid table and all the momentum is lost. I hope I am proved wrong and of course its the hope that kills you.

Safe standing at Ewood Park for 25/26 season

So how much cheaper will the safe standing tickets be ? I won't hold my breath. -
Were you at Anfield in May 1995?

I was fortunate enough to be there in with the Rovers fan with a whole bunch of Helmshore Blues, we left Haslingden at the crack of dawn and visited many hostelries on Walton Breck Road before the match. I think some of the Liverpool fans were more nervous than we were ! After the match I remember buying a Rovers Champions T Shirt from a very switched on street vendor before we "requested" our minibus driver found the nearest off license. Chaos ensued on the drive home and my abiding memory was after we left the M6 at Chorley and made our way through Wheelton, Withnell and Feniscowles there were hundreds and hundreds of Rovers fans at the side of the road waving scarfs, flags etc. We made our way into Blackburn and my last very drunken memory was sat on the floor opposite King Georges Hall eating a kebab with people asking me where I had got my T Shirt from 🙂 Happy Times -
Whilst I have respect for you and the other FF members who attend these meetings do you not feel it is simply staged managed box ticking by the club and literally everything is about deflecting away from the real issue, Venkys. Assuming a meeting is now arranged it will surely be fantastic new manager, get behind the lads for the play off push, ticket "offer" for the last few home games and everything else Swag will "have a look into" when the season ends ?

Completely underwhelmed by the appointment and as others have said we fish in the pond of cheap and desperate both for players and now a manager. The managed decline continues unabated and of course 4001 Adult Season Tickets is the target Waggott will have set himself for 2025. NOTHING will improve until Venkys are gone.

If as expected we end this transfer window with low cost/grade squad fillers (at best) then can I call upon the members to consider making some sort of protest at the next fans forum meeting. Lets face it what the fans are being drip fed by Waggott et al is a long way from the reality and A The fans deserve better and B To sit there and have your intelligence insulted defies belief. I accept the members of the fans forum will have differing opinions but I think a large scale refusal to engage with the club which can then be fed to social media, local news outlets may be a route to finally getting some questions answered. Could I suggest:- 1. Members simply refuse to attend, offer apologies and provide an open letter to explain there absence or 2. Members attend and walk out as soon as Waggott opens his mouth leaving an open letter to explain why With the greatest of respect the FF members have an opportunity to create some waves here and no matter what else is on the agenda the managed decline of our club surely has to be your only focus on this particular occasion.

January Transfer window

I am told by a friend of mine who works in a back office role at Fulham that we have been asking (with several others) about the availability of Martial Gobo. Apparently we enquired in the summer and were knocked back but he has since signed a new long term contract and can go out on loan only. I have no idea which of our lists he appears on (if any) and had never heard of the lad until about an hour ago ! Please don't shoot the messenger -
