  1. The rumour around me in the Jack Walker is that he's probably staying until the summer.
  2. You'd imagine if the Indian courts blocked the money then the Venkys would have to sell the club.
  3. If Football Manager is anything to go by, no they can't. The actual money changing hands can be done on the 'never never' (i.e. we'll pay you £25m, but it'll be £500k every 6 months until the amount is reached"), but the full value of the transfer goes on that current transfer window's books. Chelsea et al won't be short of the cash to buy Wharton, but like Arsenal with the Raya loan (with a mandatory option to buy in the next transfer window) they simply might legally be hamstrung.
  4. I think you'll see more of that formation this season with our set piece frailties. JDT will want 3 CBs on the pitch as much as possible. Phillips and / or O'Riordan will be playing a lot. I assume they'll play JRC, Brittain and the loaned at WB.
  5. I genuinely think that's only the second time in his life he's ever played there. Not sure why JDT thinks he's suitable for the role 'cos he's absolutely not.
  6. He'd be a happier man if we'd got Newcastle away.
  7. Not on the current salary he's on.
  8. I'm glad he made the second save because he brought it on himself - palmed the ball back into the danger area. He got very lucky. The reckon Reynolds is worth over £300m - although I doubt he's willing to blow his personal fortune on a football team.
  9. Stupid yellow card though - he needs to cut that out of his game.
  10. He was crap at one stage - he needed a loan to get some games in as he was constantly injured. To be fair to him (and the fitness team) they've clearly changed something about his routine as he's injured far less often - he got a run of games and has never looked back.
  11. It'll be like Hill's last game - they won't risk him unless they absolutely have to. Don't want him to get injured so he's there in an emergency.
  12. Of course not, Manchester is the best city in the country - but Cardiff is really lovely.
  13. Unfortunately Cardiff is a fantastic city, so let's hope he's very settled in the North West.
  14. Did you miss the summer one?
  15. His teams follow a cycle (which is why there are strong accusations of PEDs) - they're peaking again this year. When they're not at or near their peak they're nowhere near City. What Guardiola has done there is unbelievable, really. They're a monolith.
  16. They have a massive catchment area. East Anglia is devoid of football clubs - so is the East of England, tbf, which is why people from Kent support Spurs.
  17. I don't like Nixon, but in his defence I bet we did enquire about Darlow et al - sometimes a transfer never gets beyond an initial query, but it's still something a journalist in that game is going to report.
  18. Is it a lengthy, lucrative contract? And why are we as fans suddenly worried about National Insurance contributions!?
  19. I bet it's a mandatory future fee in the summer that Bolton are balking at. i.e. pay his full wages for 5 months then give us £500k for him in the summer - it's not even a try before you buy.
  20. Newcastle away would have been a good draw (financially). Newcastle at home is a bad draw - we'll get battered and make a sliver of what we could have in attendance fees.
  21. Or how quickly your backup CB finds himself in net.
  22. They tell me he plays for Lancashire, but I've never seen this man with a red rose on his cap and I watch pretty much every game on LancsTV.
  23. Are there actual legs in the Gallagher to Ipswich for £2m story? I haven't seen it on Twitter much (just fans speculating). I'd drive him there myself for that.
  24. Cos it's football and I'm petty.
