  1. I'm hoping we bother to mark opposition players from throw-ins this year. That infuriated me for 5 years under Mowbray.
  2. And you call yourself a fan. "Moyesy, that Brereton Diaz lad is worth £20m, nay bother".
  3. It's wishful thinking, no doubt. However this is Broughton and JDT's list, not Mowbray's. Neither one has ever met him - albeit I've no doubt they've both seen him play.
  4. I'd love to sign him back on a pay-as-you-play contract, then bury the bastard in the reserves for the next 3 years until he retires.
  5. It only makes sense if he's a big fan of his last manager. Its a backwards step career wise. Its genuinely a terrible league.
  6. Isn't that quite difficult, post-Brexit? A lot of the young, talented, affordable players you'd want don't qualify for a work permit.
  7. He's just submitted an article that I could have written based on this transfer thread alone. He clearly has no idea what's going on at Rovers.
  8. I'd honestly take that £10m offer from Sevilla if it's all re-invested into the playing squad.
  9. I read it more as he wants to get the situation resolved. Either someone buys him now, or he signs a new contract. He's happy with either, but he doesn't want to lose him for free in the summer.
  10. It was a 4-2-3-1, which is the formation we've consistently played since the Accrington Stanley game. Carter started at RB and shifted to CB when Phillips was replaced by Brittain (who subsequently moved to RB).
  11. He's not athletic enough to get up and down the flank as a WB, regardless of whether it's a back 3 or back 4. Neither is JRC for that matter.
  12. By the looks of it he's played 96 total minutes for Fulham, so I assume your flatmate goes to a lot of Academy games? https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jay-stansfield/profil/spieler/696346
  13. Didn't he put in a cracking ball that Brereton couldn't turn into the back of the net (an absolute sitter) today? But yes, he's just too slow to play LB in this system. He'll get exposed every week.
  14. Who are the two options in his position? Hedges should be a backup - I've yet to see any end product from him (although I do like the general look of him). Who's the other one, Dolan? He's better than both, regardless.
  15. Its going to need our CMs to step up tbh. They're meant to be the pivots and give the CB an outlet. As much as I like Travis, he went hiding at times today when we were in possession. This system doesn't ask the CBs to be the playmakers, but they are expected to be comfortable on the ball. I think Wharton is fine there as long as he's not asked to ping 40 yard through balls.
  16. Against Celtic he played Dolan as the AMC / #10, which he's done well in. Today he played him as the #9 and Dack as the #10. They interchange so much that I don't see it being a problem - but I do think we're short upfront... and I'd still love £15m for Brereton with (some of) that money being reinvested into the squad.
  17. I'd sign Styles as a LB. Look at how advanced Brittain was today - Styles would be doing the same on the left.
  18. Sadly it'll take time for this style of play (and system) to bed in. It'll also take reinforcements to really kick off.
  19. I thought A. Wharton was really impressive in CM. He's only just turned 18 too.
  20. It's a major part of the deal - as we saw with Armstrong (and potentially Brereton), it's worth millions of pounds.
  21. If they haven't sorted out the sell-on clause then no deal has been agreed. There's no guarantee they'll come to an agreement over that.
  22. I hope there aren't any scouts here today, shocking miss that.
  23. If we sign an AMC, Harlock needs a loan to a L1 club this year. He's looked good since he's come on.
