  1. His manager has been here 4 weeks - and I'd be livid if he brought in players without consulting JDT (or whoever was in post). We're behind the 8 ball because Waggot and the Venky's messed around for 5 weeks appointing a new manager (and that only got resolved because Broughton flagged up that JDT was available). If it all goes to pot, as many of the doom mongers are predicting, then I'll hold my hands up.
  2. I do, they're twisting when others would stick. PL or bust for Boro this season.
  3. The Mowbray loan list being "hi Mr Woodfine, who would you like to loan is this year?" (There's no way Klopp would field his call).
  4. You're going to criticize him because he's not done the business after 3 weeks in post? I know football transfers happen quickly, but bloody hell.
  5. The opposition would be spoilt for choice if we played Pickering on the opposite flank as a LWB.
  6. Park started last year, right? The only permanent transfers during that time were Hedges, Edun and Markanday (who I'm giving a reprieve to because he torn his hamstring). If we can't credit him with those transfers... then what we he being paid to do?
  7. The list brought us players like Hedges and Edun, so yes.
  8. It's a long grind of a season. They'll be called upon with us playing 2 games a week. The Championship is a squad game, really.
  9. I'd like to sign him rather than loan him.
  10. The football pyramid is broken, sadly. Look at Phillips - talk that Spurs are going to strong arm us and sign him on the cheap. Just to hoard the talent because he's 2-3 years away from every appearing in their first team (and that's IF he's as exceptional as they say he is).
  11. £2-3m spunked on the unproven, please. I'm sick of loaning in 5 players a season and having to rebuild the squad every offseason.
  12. From what I understand, JDT likes attacking FBs. A CB playing there wouldn't suffice.
  13. The stadium is falling apart and the pitch is a disgrace. Those are both FFP exempt.
  14. If the club is such a financial burden to them, maybe they should just sell?
  15. Nixon hasn't had a Rovers connect since the Coyle days.
  16. So that's our sponsor and FFP covered. Any transfer news?
  17. Transfermarkt reckons he's worth £3.15m, so they've been ripped off if they've paid £10m. Weren't they in massive financial trouble a few years ago? Where have they found £10m from?
  18. FFP was brought in to pull up the drawbridge behind the established teams. Man City just about got over the moat into the castle before the drawbridge was raised. They don't want another Jack Walker upsetting the apple cart.
  19. Depends how happy I was - I've turned down significant pay rises in the past because I didn't fancy the travel / leaving my current team. I wouldn't play for Mowbray for all the money in the world if I was a footballer.
  20. You don't have to justify yourself - I just wouldn't have a conversation about football with you if you switched allegiances.
  21. Just look at how miserable Murphy was to turn out for us - or indeed commentate on football in general.
  22. And I suspect if he hadn't signed a pro contract he'd be at Spurs et al already.
  23. I think we absolutely need another two experienced players in CM (especially if we plan to play any sort of 3 man midfield), but Travis and Buckley absolutely are good enough to start for a playoff contending side. I've no issue with Wharton / Garrett et al being the 5th man off the bench for the odd game / 30 minute cameo.
  24. If he joined in one 5-a-side session they'd quickly learn to respect him. He's undoubtedly the best football player at the club.
