  1. Depends if your manager requires you to defend or not - I probably wouldn't bother tracking Nyambe back, for example, but yes I'd struggle to get past him in attack.
  2. They can't rescind it because that's tantamount to admitting that the referee handed Boro 3 points last night. It's an old boys club, they'll rally round their mate.
  3. So he won't be sacked then? And people question why the standard of officiating is so low in this country. Beggars belief that a guy can 'make a decision' that's so unbelievably wrong, ruining the game for 14k+ supporters, and simply turn up for work the next day without a care in the world.
  4. I agree, red cards for all of the offenses above. Will be lovely finishing with 8 men a side for the forseeable.
  5. I'm not happy that he was sent off and the game ruined.
  6. The referee has to be sacked for that decision I'm afraid.
  7. Just read the post-match comments from JDT - I'm incredibly disappointed he's not taken the fine on the chin and given the referee both barrels for deciding the game.
  8. You do remember the summer, right? Where we bumbled around for a month and a half without a manager?
  9. He was warming up, but didn't come back out after like the 60 minute mark - the point when you're thinking we need a CM on to replace one of the front four.
  10. Ah so you long for the days of Mowbray then - we looked like we'd met for the first time on the car park for half of his time in charge.
  11. The manager certainly knows it, that's why he keeps playing down talk of promotion. Did I really hear a '"go back to Sweden" chant from the BBE tonight? I definitely heard boos when Dack was rightly subbed. Baffling.
  12. The club should take legal action against that referee - he's cost us 3 points tonight. If he referees again then the EFL aren't fit to govern the game I'm afraid.
  13. Probably because he's realistic and has looked around the squad and thought "this isn't a promotion winning side" and sadly we don't have £30m to throw about like our neighbours to make it one. People are calling for Adam Wharton to save us - an 18 year old who can't last 70 minutes at the moment. I've no doubt he'll be brilliant in time, but like Phillips he's being managed carefully.
  14. It's because people were burned by Mowbray's talk of a 'journey' so they're reacting in the extreme to anything that sounds similar.
  15. Absolutely not. He can't make those runs in the PL because everyone is athletic as he is (moreso really because they're not knackered after 70 minutes like he was). His end product was also very poor. He's a very good Championship player, there's no shame in that.
  16. Agreed. Unfortunately we don't have anyone else. I don't think Gallagher deserves to start either, but he's all we've bloody got.
  17. I wish he was a £20m striker - as the summer transfer window showed, he's an £8m striker because that's what teams were willing to pay for him.
  18. We need better than Gallagher - Ross Stewart is 5 times the player. Unfortunately you saw today what happens when Brereton-Diaz plays centrally - he falls over looking for a free kick. He can't handle any sort of physicality.
  19. It's almost like we need three transfer windows... When Ryan Hedges is your standout player in attack then you're seriously devoid of quality I'm afraid - I desperately want Gallagher to turn into a good player, but £5m was daylight robbery for him. Brereton-Diaz has completely gone off the boil and we don't have anyone to pick up the reigns. Our amazing run pre-January last year was due to Brereton-Diaz converting at a ridiculous rate. Our woeful run post-January was because he got injured.
  20. We didn't sack the manager when finishing 15th, but I've been told off for questioning this fan base, so I'll leave it there...
  21. I didn't say we deserved to win it - that should have been a comfortable draw and was playing out that way until Travis continued his woeful form and gifts them a win.
  22. Which is why the fact we're 3rd (for now) with half the season gone is a testament to how good a job JDT has done. A newly promoted Sunderland have about 6 players I'd be very, very interested in. That shouldn't happen. Ross is miiiiiiiles better than anything we have upfront, for example.
  23. This is daylight robbery, but that's football for you. Morton should have scored and Travis should have cleared that attack. Fine margins. Hopefully we strengthen in January - need a RB (if Brittain is out until Feb), a ST and a CM at a minimum.
  24. It's interesting you say that because Brereton-Diaz has been the worst player on the pitch for us today. He hasn't come back from the World Cup break.
