We're out of the youth cup because we weren't good enough on the night Philipl. As for the comments on Gary Bowyers tactics on the night being one of the reasons for the team losing the game, I think they're valid.

As for the worth of the academy, it's been debated before, but I do think you've given a biased summary of the upsides/downsides.  For the past few seasons all the academy has done is produce good, cheap young players for the lower league teams.

Can our academy produce enough youngsters of prem quality? No-one knows that.

In fairness to the Academy though, Peter looks like a player, as did Gallagher and McEverley (sp?) before hitting a rough patch of form.

Just borrowed the disc off my housemate - it's much, much harder than the last edition. It's taken me twenty games to find a tactic that works for Bury (started off unemployed), which is an obscene amount of time. The AI is also highly questionable this time around, it seems to screw you over all the time - ridiculous late goals, crazy passbacks etc etc

dickovs contract is up in the summer, i don't think there has been any talk yet of him being offered a new one? his injury won't help his cause either.

I'm sure there was paper talk about a possible transfer away from the club in January, which Williams/Hughes replied to by stating they were in contract talks.

Reid seems to be continuing his rich vein of form though and Bentley seems to be having a good game. Personally I would bring the Axe off. It really looks like he is only playing to try and appease him so he doesn't ask for a transfer request.

Axe for Jemel, move Bentley to the right, Reid to the middle and Johnson up front.

Savage took a beating in both United matches and no action was taken. Pedersen's been kicked off the park a few times recently, Bolton especially, and little has been done. We touch the opposition and it's a foul. That's how I see it right now, and I'm not a homer by any stretch of the imagination.

Anyone else get the feeling we get hard done to? If a Rovers player had been clattered like Axe seems to have been they'd be off the field.
