1. This is the mentalist thread ever.

I cant even believev the Birmingham fans are discussing it, like they'd be losing a key player or something.

INJURED PLAYERS ARE NO USE TO ANYONE.

Dunny is the biggest crock in the Premiership and we I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

He is always injured yet he is always out on the pop. See any connection? He is totally unprofessional and Birmingham are more than welcome to continue picking up his 40k a week tab until the end of his ridiculous contract. All the best to the mugs.

I'd definately take him back, but it'd be on our terms. Pay as you play type deal with big bonuses for goals, assists, appearences etc. It's hightly unlikely Brum could afford him if they went down (which is looking less and less likely, dammit dry.gif ), and I'm sure we'd get first crack at offering him a contract.

One thing I wouldn't do is pay significant money for his services, £2m would be extortionate under the circumstances. A nominal fee and the removal of him from the wage budget would suffice for Big Club I feel.

  2. Dunns form in the prem for us, was never that good. Anyone remember - he was used on the left wing mainly. He wasn't consistent enough to hold down a central mid position.

I remember him sulking whenever Souness played him out wide. Fair enough though as he was never going to displace Tugay and the two couldn't work together in a partnership....unless y'know you wanted your midfield to be steamrolled wink.gif

  3. smile.gif i'm on there!

ah happy days! what a great trip that was. yorke and cole were fantastic and todd played like beckenbaur!

i reckon the 'kuqi monster' should play on sunday. i know.... before you all give me pelters, remember back to the ewood game. he dominated dawson and frightened the life out of him. bellers can then attack king.

Go on then, let's see you circled, John Madden style thumbs-up.gif

You can see its Cole because Yorke's name/number would be creeping into the picture.

I recognise that lot, and the keeper (Kelly), but they're not at the club anymore....which was kinda my point.

The hugging guy nearest the camera could indeed be Gally, though I question whether he was in the first team at that time. It could also be Jay wink.gif

  5. I haven't seen anything of Peter yet but I do remember Duff's debut against Leicester- if he is being mentioned in the same breath as that debut performance of Duff's he is one heck of a prospect.

    BUT

Cercle Bruge thought Peter was an arrogant piece of rubbish.

    AND

The people talking up Peter are also the ones talking down MGP.

This makes me very deeply sceptical about Peter- hope I'm wrong on that count.

However, I doubt anyone can contradict me when I say that MGP is a rather limited winger but utterly exceptional goal scorer. I have seen MGP getting better and better since we signed him and I don't see any reason to think that he is incapable of improving his out field consistency and learn how to take a big whack and not disappear from a game.

If/when MGP goes, this message board will be full of comments moaning: "if MGP had been where Peter received the ball, it would have been smashed into the net."

There are a lot of qualities I like about Pedersen, but few of those are what I require in a winger. He has little pace, at least not the burst required to get round a player and his crosses can leave a lot to be desired.

However, as stated he's an excellent goal scorer who has plenty of qualities that have made him a desired commodity. He can pick out that killer pass, he has a fabulous first touch, he's surprisingly good in the air and his direct free kicks are deadly. I'd be tempted to try him out in central (attacking) midfield - he certainly has the engine for it, and it'd keep keep him in the game more. Out on the left he's allowed to drift out of the game when he feels like it, something a team of our calibre can't afford.

  6. From what I've seen he could turn into a pretty decent winger. Not afraid to take people on, but not really got the tactical skills yet. Yesterday he seemed to have watched John Arne Riise a bit too much. The "kick the ball past the defender and run" trick doesn't work when the defender is faster than you...and when you've tried 2-3 times, you might want to try a different approach...

Pretty much his only highlight on MOTD was his attempt to do that to their right back, and failing miserably laugh.gif

Is he something to get excited about? Yes and no in my opinion. It's exciting that youth players are breaking into the first team and not looking out of place. However, from what I've seen he's not going to be a world beater - he's going to be a good Premiership winger I feel, but nothing that sets the world on fire.

  7. rover.gif there must be posters on here who do not go any more, lets find out the real reasons why they do not go any more.the lads i know who do not go anymore, would rather spend the ticket price in the pub,so come on folks tell us your reasons tinykit.gif

    386643

And we're not accepting the old "well I live in a different country" routine rolleyes.giftongue.gif

  8. The attendances are a joke right now, we need those 3k or so floating fans back. I can't believe they've gone to Bolton, European football or not they play some absolute sh!te week in and week out, whereas Hughes is molding the Mighty Rovers into a quality team.

Sometimes I just think we don't deserve Premiership football.

  9. Can't a group of those who want to sing and chant have a word with the drummer?  Surely there could be a compromise somewhere instead of muttering and moaning and all could be accommodated?  ph34r.gif

    386105

This thread has made it pretty clear what those words would be laugh.gif .

I'm against the drummer personally, but to be fair to the lad(s) they can get a chant going now and again. Mindless or not, at least everyone can get involved - I've been to a few away games where I didn't have a Scooby what the song was......but that's a different story I suppose, and links back to the fact that beyond a few songs our crowd is very repetitive at home (so I've just shot down my own argument then - good going ER wink.giftongue.gif ).

It definately should be at the top of BRISA's list of things to do.

  10. rover.gif i think arsenal will be wrapping their stars in cotton wool for the return leg, they have a great chance off going through so i expect their youth team sat tinykit.gif

ps it just said on tv arsenal are the 1st english team to beat madrid, team in name only, not one englishman tinykit.gif

    385671

Shocking isn't it! Hopefully that UEFA/FA ruling will come through about a certain percentage of your squad/starting 11 having to be from the country you play in.

  11. Terrible injury . I hope none of us dare sing a few "Cisse style" songs at him next time he plays against us - that would get some of the posters on here up in arms  unsure.gif

    385172

It was pleased to see Cisse go and sit with Smith after all the United players on the pitch turned away in disgust. He's been through it obviously, so that would have helped Smith I'm sure. Either way his compassion for a fellow professional was heartwarming.

It's a shockingly bad injury that I called the first time I saw it (just happened to walk into the room when it happened - I've no idea what Lawro was talking about). It's a genuine career threatening and, whatever your opinion of Smith maybe, nobody deserves such a horrific injury. It's only a game after all. wink.gif I wish him all the best thumbs-up.gif
