  1. It looks more within our reach now then it did at the start of the day.

I think the picture has been cleared up somewhat today, it's between us and L'Arse. Spurs have been wobbling for a few games now and they've been on the end of a thrashing today, that can't be good for confidence. Bolton are pretty much out of it I feel, they've got a very tough run in.

I feel we're somehow going to have to get something out of the Chelski and Liverpool games, which is a very tough ask. Still at worst Europe looks likely biggrin.gif

  2. Yes, but remember after they thumped Boro 7-0 they promptly went out and lost to Everton and 3 of 4 overall. If we hold serve on Monday, their schedule gets a bit tougher. United away, City away and Spurs at home in their next 4 games.

    Keep the faith.

Results have really fallen our way today...we MUST take advantage on monday if we are to have any hope of 4th.

    C'mon!!!!!!

I'm still behind the Rovers, obviously, but it's a worrying run of form they've put together. The United game will be the big test for them - are they just steamrolling poor sides? Time will tell.

As for Rovers, the Wigan game is a big test for us - we need to win it, no if, buts or maybes. I've not been impressed with our play of late (impressed with the results, but not the performances), but if we can get past Wigan with our CL bid unscathed then we've got as good a chance as anyone I suppose. Chelski look wobbly, shame we're not playing them anytime soon eh? wink.gif

  3. I've given up on the attendance front, its no use, the interest is simply not there anymore.

Why the hell our club gave Wigan the whole Darwen end is beyond me when they haven't had a decent away following all season?

Probably because we sold out their away end and expected them to do the same.

I agree though, the attendance figures are now beyond a joke - 20k for a Premiership team is disgraceful, especially one currently sitting in 5th. It's tough to blame the club though, there's little more they can feasibly do sad.gif

  4. I suppose I'm happy about this development, but he's still doesn't fill me with confidence at right back, though he has markedly improved under Hughes. I'd prefer a solider defender, one with superior positional defence, but Neill brings that physicality that Hughes loves - athleticism, speed, strength, aggression, stamina - and we'd miss his forward runs greatly.

  5. Ray-Von and Exiled; I don't quite understand why "tossers at club level" mean that you can't cheer for your country. The Rovers interest is also a bit strange too. It is your country you should stick up for them whoever plays. I'll wager that 2 short years ago Craig Bellamy and Robbie Savage were two of the league's biggest "tossers" in your eyes.

Maybe because I live abroad I have an enhanced sense of patriotism toward my country but your views confuse me.

Didn't say I don't cheer for them, I just don't take the losses too hardly - an example being the Northern Ireland game, I laughed at the embarrassment rather than crying into my beer (nearly got my head kicked in for that I might add laugh.gif ).

I didn't think Bellamy and Savage were tossers two years ago, though I had an inkling they were both rather foolish.

  6. I only look out for England or any international teams if there is a Rovers interest. International football just doesnt excite me like it does at club level. The England team is full of Tossers that people can't stand at club level. Why should I cheer them just because they wear an England shirt?

    394210[/snapback]

I have a similar outlook on the England team, i.e a bunch of tossers I can't stand. Not that I don't cheer for them, because I do, but I don't feel the pain of a loss like I used to.

As for my choice, Fat Sam - mainly just to shut him up and get rid of Bolton from the Prem. thumbs-up.gif

  7. Form Guide

Have you seen how we played against Boro and Sunderland? Very poorly, we were fortunate both teams are mediocre at best. Obviously it's the mark of a good team when they win despite not playing well, but I don't like our chances if we continue in this vein.

L'Arse on the other hand have been playing teams off the park.

  8. I'm going to get down the bookies in the morning and put a bet on L'Arse for fourth, they're the only team in form. Spuds have fluked another home win, we've not played well for at least a fortnight and Bolton pretty much have to win all their remaining games - highly unlikely considering their run in.
