Farke would be a great appointment (on paper - you never know how things will turn out in practice). But it's concerning (albeit not surprising) to hear about 'another tier of advisors beyond Ewood' who have more power than our actual board. Our board are shite, but that's no way to run a club. And if they're in charge, what are we wasting 300k a year on Swaggott for? Just put those lads in charge. Of course, that would be too transparent, and we are probably only a relatively minor concern even to these shadowy advisor go-betweens.
Could you clarify, when you say those at Ewood 'can sign off literally nothing', you don't mean literally nothing? Or presumably you might mean when it comes to a new manager and any serious financial outlay. Because I really can't see Pune lowering themselves to deal with the youth team contracts or the u23 player we just signed. Or even things like ticket pricing.
It sounds like Waggot is a box ticking exercise to comply with EFL rules.

When Woodgate gets the job we'll look back at 'Fergusongate' and think.. actually, that would have been nice
I wouldn't be paying attention to the results if Woodgate got the job.

Good football is winning football.
Give me a stoic, well drilled side that grinds out 1-0 wins over nice football that results in nowt. Football is a competitive sport.
Agree to disagree.
Watching games as a neutral has become more and more difficult for me. The amount of blatant time wasting and diving that goes on - obviously both contribute to that side winning - just makes me turn off.
It's all about money and winning now - it should be about entertainment.

What you mean is you’ve had a good few quid on him and want to win a bit of dough rather than see your club appoint a decent manager. Shame on you Merce. #WhenTheFunStopsStop
Mercer must have a lot of disposable income because I've yet to see him win a bet.

Ferguson is very highly rated in the football world for his knowledge and coaching abilities. I think there is a brain to go with the brawn!
Cool, he should prove it at a L1 or L2 club as a 50 year old rookie manager.

No - the journalist has a fantastic record of posting accurate information.
"How can we all know it’s a terrible decision yet they don’t?"
The answer you're quoting has nothing to do with the credibility of the twitter account. It's responding to your question above.

They never were. They're not 'quartered' (or halved...).

Think you’ve misinterpreted it, I said the reason is pathetic, waiting to see who the manager is, no one knows, whoever is appointed that it will be a success or failure I always thought you support the club, not the manager or the owners…
It's not the same club we all fell in love with.
I treat it as a business transaction now - if they try, I'll pay to watch. If they don't, I won't.
Duncan Ferguson et al would not be trying.

Please don't confuse Scottish or Welsh fans with English fans
I was in Manchester the day Rangers descended on the city - genuinely the worst fans I've ever come across. They were defecating in shop doorways in the city centre.
We all experienced Celtic fans when they were at Ewood too.
So no, they're no saints themselves.

I mean Jon Moss is a dreadful referee but even VAR haven't picked that up? Unbelievable....
And another one not given...you could be forgiven for thinking this is corrupt
I want Forest to go up - but Huddersfield have been absolutely mugged here.

What a weekend for Huddersfield, the place has been absolutely buzzing with The Giants making the challenge cup final and the football team at Wembley today.
Talk about a town punching above it’s weight.
They're about to lose both - didn't take many to Tottenham either.

What is the point of VAR?
Absolute stonewall penalty not given. Incredible.

It’s all gone really quiet on the Lenihan and Nyambe contract talks too.
Whether that’s due to the powers that be only being able to do one thing at once and concentrating all their efforts on the manager search, or the players wanting to see if the appointment matches their ambitions, who knows. Either way it feels like the longer it takes for us to appoint someone, the more likely they will be to get fixed up elsewhere.
I'm genuinely amazed they're both still here.
Realistically they should be trying to secure contracts elsewhere so they're ready to go on their new team's pre-season tour.

Some really underwhelming names being banded about, I have based on history under Venkys always been prepared for an underwhelming appointment likely based on frugality and an underappreciation as to the importance of a good mangaer.
Villa's assistant manger would be not what we need, you can upload as many youtube interviews as you like, he is a total rookie and we need someone who has at least proven something as a manager. Carrick falls into the same category as does Ferguson who I think appeals to some because he runs around like a maniac on the sideline and people place too much importance on touchline demeanour for some reason.
Throw in plenty of the usual wannabee ITK's arguing with each other and even a bit of hypocritical childish superfan nonsense and lets hope the appointment is made ASAP!
We don't have the infrastructure to support a rookie manager.
Nor do I trust our decision makers to pick the right rookie manager.

Well I agree with you that we want promotion also but keep bringing through more and more academy players each season is also what Rovers will continue to do
5 of the starting XI were Academy players last year.
How many more do you want?! At some stage you have to make good signings to bolster the squad - I'm as big of an advocate as any of the Academy and promoting youth, but you can never have a full XI of them, it's just not feasible.

Doesn’t exactly help dispel the “they still think it’s 95” nonsense when you’re asking questions like that.
Is this how John Williams went about appointing Mark Hughes?

I remember watching Magloire in preseason a couple of years back against Leicester and he look really good, but then when he was needed in league games he fell to pieces multiple times. Shame as he was always touted as a potential star. Doesn't seem to have done much on loan unlike Wharton and Carter.
Maybe the hope is a decent coach can actually get a tune out of him.
He was up against Vardy who was using it as nothing more than a run around to gain fitness.
If live ammo had started to be fired, Vardy would have scored a hattrick with Magloire marking him.

I wouldn't renew my season ticket, but I'd happily walk on for a match to sing the legendary "Tugay! You are my Turkish delight" - y'know, before he confined us to League One.

Putting the rivalry to one side for a second, it is criminal that this should be allowed. Even allowing for the fact that this is our local rivals, it still makes me angry.
We were victims too and are still in a terrible situation, due to the powers that be allowing this sort of thing to happen.
Football has sold it's soul, as we are sure to see the next club go down the same path in the not too distant future.
We have the likes of Bassini and Ken Anderson taking on clubs, despite their previous issues that the powers that be are aware of, so this sort of thing, is simply attracting the chancers and hangers on waiting in the wings, ready to pounce.
Then they came for me. And there was no one left. To speak out for me.

Probably Pep Guardiola's assistant manager
Poor Tony Mowbray will be rolling in his grave - he spent 12 months getting pelters trying to bring football to us heathens with Dolan and Buckley as a False 9, only for us to go and hire the assistant of the inventor of the system.

Unless you're called Chapman or Davenport, then he ignores you entirely.
Or if you're under 25 and he dismisses you as a kid.
Other than that, lovely fella.
