Looking at the odds and it seems there has been barely any change to the names in the top 10 'favourites' or their order for about a week now since Farke dropped down the list and Carvalhal found his way to the top of it.

Usually you might expect a new name or two to drop in the odds or someone to rule themselves in or out.

Suggests to me either that very little is happening or if it is it is being kept under very close wraps.

    I'll go with the former.

Mowbray's last match in charge was a fortnight ago. We were officially told he was being let go 9 days ago.

We've heard nothing since. After 12 years of these owners we should all have learned by now they've not planned for this at all, so we'll drift aimlessly for a few more weeks at least.

I think its just assumed that the names already mentioned are the ones that will be interviewed and those names come predominantly from what people want. Ainsworth for example has a play off final tomorrow, no way has he got an interview lined up.

For what it's worth Mario Cristobal coached the PAC12 Championship game on 4 Dec for Oregon and was announced as the Miami Hurricanes Head Coach on 6 Dec - but of course that involved private jets and people that cared.

Ben Brereton Diaz, Dan Butterworth, Tyler Magloire and Jordan Eastham have all been informed that the club have taken up the option to extend their registration for a further 12 months, keeping them contracted until June 30th 2023.

Bradley Johnson, Jacob Davenport, Harry Chapman, Luke Brennan, Connor McBride, Sam Durrant and Joe Nolan, along with scholars Joe Ferguson, Brandon Lonsdale and Evan Cunningham, will not be retained upon the expiration of their current agreements, whilst Joe Rothwell has confirmed that he will be leaving the club this summer.

Rovers remain in contract talks with defenders Darragh Lenihan and Ryan Nyambe, however as both players are over the age of 24, they are entitled to discuss their options with other clubs.

That's a mighty fall from grace for Brennan - he was being chased by Leeds last year.

We officially have no CMs on the books, so the new manager had better pull his finger out.

Can’t see how Barnes’ in Saturday was a penalty and that wasn’t. Also if that is a red card the game really has gone, one footed, not high, wins the ball, minimal contact. Foul throw in the build up to their goal as well, he wasn’t even off the pitch.

I don’t think so, think we will need to win.

I mean technically your lad elbowed Mings in the head, so I wouldn't complain about VAR too much, eh?

Hard to understand why Viera has been lauded recently for taking Palace to 13th. Could finish 14th by the end of the season, which would be exactly the same position they finished last season and the season before. Hardly a revelation. Lose tonight and they've actually won less games than Everton this season.

Burnley or Leeds to drop. Tough games on paper for both on Sunday, so could go either way.

Palace were a disgrace in the second half.

Everton have done JUST enough AGAIN to survive. What a horrible little club.

I can’t remember you waxing lyrical about Kamiski’s distribution at Copenhagen?

Whilst you’re welcome to this view, to me it simply sounds like an opinion created to enforce another.

The caveat of Raya getting worse is utterly laughable since he’s essentially now an established premier league player with an international cap.

I have no idea how good he was at Gent. I can only talk about how I've observed the significant decline in the quality of his distribution between his debut and now.

He brought Venus in as his number 2.

I don't understand the hatred on here for Rovers backroom team, Benson has worked with Raya and Kaminski, 2 keepers that are going from strength to strength, whats not to like about that?

Look at the lads coming from the academy into the first team? It all adds up to having a decent backroom team and not what 1 poster on here wants you to think.

Both keepers went backwards under Benson.

Kaminski's distribution now is significantly worse than when he arrived.

Fair enough, I could have been thinking of Pears' fee. Now you've said this, 150k is in my head. Undisclosed transfers annoy me. I feel like the stakeholders deserve to know what's spent, but that's a whole other discussion.

Tbf, Goddard was highly rated when we snapped him up from Man City. I haven't heard about him having shite games, and that in itself isn't bad for an 18 year old in the u23s who doesn't even get to play regularly enough to find the rhythm. I agree the rotation is daft though, at least one of them should have been found a non-league loan if at all possible. Did Raya no harm.

We have Pears, Stergiakis, Eastham, Dowling, Hilton and Goddard all on the books and 18 or older. Surely that's very excessive for young keepers and there really isn't room in the first and second teams for all of them. I think they're all under contract anyway, I'm sure someone will correct me if not.

Ah, I see you've made the fundamental mistake of listing Pears as a GK. Easily done.

  9. Oh how I miss the days when I could genuinely chant "Who?" from the Jack Walker Stand at a substitute because I knew most starting XIs in the PL.

No idea who this lad is, but good luck to him. He's very brave considering we still live in a world where Rico Henry is being racially abused and Burnley fans are throwing up Nazi salutes.

Can't see past Leeds going down, watched their game today and some of their defending was piss poor, such a disorganised side with Brighton regularly getting in behind in the first half, players constantly kept onside by a defence that was never in line. Brighton coasted in the second half and Leeds I would say deserved a draw but its not enough. Burnley looked good v Spurs and I can see that game in hand being crucial.

Everton seem to have stayed up by default due to the ineptness of Leeds in particular and Burnley too. The media will no doubt laud the work of Lampard who has impressively taken them from 16th to 16th.

The Brighton keeper (Sanchez?) pulled off two worldies - but yes, Brighton players were ghosting into massive gaps in the Leeds back line at will in the first half.

I still think Leeds are going down, but the pressure is now on Burnley to get a result from their last two games.

Toney sold him down the tunnel and so easily.

However I have a dislike for all things Brentford and the knobhead who fronts them.

I'm jealous of what they've achieved, but I hate their model (no Academy) and the last thing football needs is another nothing London club wallowing in the PL riches.

Leeds are appalling right now, lots of fight but not much else, I can't see them getting anything from Brentford sadly......

    The bottom 5 are appalling.

It's typical Everton that they survive AGAIN by the skin of their teeth.
