  1. I'm really happy that JDT saw the performances from certain individuals on Saturday and has benched them. I thought Travis was really good at RB and provides us with a good option there. Morton and Wharton were excellent in CM too. Buckley has been out of form for a while so he's rightly been benched. JDT isn't playing favourites here - he has no ties to any of these players.
  2. 5 CBs is more than enough for a back 4.
  3. He'll be consigned to the bench when Hirst is eligible, but yes right now he plays. Who else do we have - Vale, Burns and Leonard.
  4. So basically 30 pages of nonsense so far today, is that about right?
  5. There's a Tony Mowbray thread for this discussion. ☺️
  6. He runs a holiday camp so of course the players aren't going to mind him, on the whole. I'd challenge that he's good at developing young players too: he held Travis back (tried to turn him into a midfield destroyer when he has much more to his game) he played Buckley as a False 9 / #10 when he's clearly a CM he told S. Wharton he was surplus to requirements before being forced to play him pretty sure Giles hates him I'm delighted he's no longer here - credit too him for arresting our slide into oblivion (albeit a better manager would have saved us from relegation in the first place...), but he massively overstayed his welcome and thought he was far too good for this club.
  7. He's 58, his kids have got their own families. Always hated that excuse.
  8. Barkley would piss this league, it's simply not happening.
  9. He's signing / signed a new contract with Leicester.
  10. No we didn't AND he's on massive wages.
  11. If he scores 20 goals and enjoys his time here then it doesn't matter if another club offers £300m for him, we could still get him for £5m.
  12. I actually think he's very poor defensively, but yeah he's a problem going forward.
  13. I think people need to stop thinking about like-for-like replacements. We're playing a different formation under JDT. I suspect Hirst is an option to play #9 - when Dolan switched to #9 on Saturday, for all his industry (and it did cause Stoke some problems) he had neither the size, pace or guile to carve out a chance. Any head high crosses into the box were literally pointless. Both Hyam and Hirst add some much needed size to our team.
  14. That won't be happening then - he'd have to be sensational for us to even consider that.
  15. Do you have an idea of the names of those 4?
  16. And the same Vale who's miles off Championship standard.
  17. We're not, sadly. We're competing with too many teams in our catchment area.
  18. Wolves got out of this league because they hooked up with a super agent who funnelled loads of brilliant talent their way on the cheap. We hooked up with an agent who funnelled loads of shit talent our way for loads of money.
  19. My friend is also a Man City fan and I want to throttle him whenever we talk about football. They lucked into one rich owner, who was then arrested for fraud, and stumbled into the best owners in football. What they've done with the East side of Manchester beggars belief.
  20. Why do people waste time baiting him? Read his posts, or don't, and move on.
  21. There's different ways to skin a cat. At the elite level look at Carrick - hardly ever put a tackle in, but was a brilliant DM because he intercepted so many passes and retained possession. Unless they loan someone in, which I doubt, they're clearly reasonably happy with rolling the dice with Morton, Garrett and Wharton. Wharton looked sensational on Saturday and Morton looked very good - we'd struggle to bring in better.
  22. We have Wharton, Buckley, Morton and Garrett (and at a push Edun).
