  1. They haven't shown the incidents with Szmodics and Brereton on any of the highlights - were they both penalties? I felt the one on Brereton definitely was.
  2. More than likely he was the backup plan if we couldn't get the Hyam deal sorted.
  3. We played 5'5" Dolan upfront for most of the match yesterday - was it any wonder their CBs had an easy time on crosses? We need a big body.
  4. They know Vale isn't up to it at this point. Bet they're looking to move him on.
  5. We're not asking them to perform at a high standard twice a week.
  6. He scored 22 goals last season playing out wide. It suits his skillset - allows him to carry the ball, come short, attack the back post (against the FB rather than a CB). He's been proven to be much less effective played as a central striker.
  7. The one where Clarke dived and JRC was booked?
  8. They're not being asked to constantly boss a midfield - we're 6 games in and this is Wharton's first appearance. Garrett has yet to play in the league. They're rightly being drip-fed in. We genuinely have much bigger problems than the 5 (6 if you include Edun, but realistically he should be sold) CMs we have on the books.
  9. I wanted him sacked - I was about to give up my season ticket as going to Ewood had become a turgid chore. I didn't want him replaced by an unqualified cretin. The two things aren't linked.
  10. With all due respect, Rothwell has never played a better pass than Wharton did multiple times today.
  11. Buckley cannot play as a #10 in this league - he was awful today.
  12. I take it you didn't watch Wharton boss Stoke for 45 minutes today then? And Garrett has apparently outplayed him during the Carabao Cup games. The midfield options are absolutely fine. We need a LB, a CB, a CF and a wide player. More if Brereton leaves.
  13. It's a complete rebuild. Mowbray used to flood the team with loanees to cover up his inept squad building. We haven't done that this season and you're shown what a threadbare squad it is. The long-term plan is to get to the PL, but you'd have to seriously spend big to do that in one transfer window - and we're not going to do that.
  14. They're allowed to bully us because refs only call it one way. Phillips was booked for giving just as much as he was getting from their #17. The same #17 that took Ayala out late off the ball. It's bollocks - either let them play physically, or pull up every niggly foul. Don't let them kick lumps out of our players then book ours for a shirt pull.
  15. Fat Sam was always happy to roll over for the big boys as long as he picked up his 50 points a season. Didn't give a fuck about the fans forking out their hard earned - he wrote games off when the fixture list came out.
  16. What's happening now on the transfer front is what we all feared - reinforcements not brought in in time so we've dropped 9 points. Brereton will go, but the vultures that are circling will bring it down to the wire and we won't be able to adequately replace him.
  17. Go-on then, what shape did he change from and to? I'll wait.
  18. Who the fuck else does he have to play?! He had to move our best CM to RB today in the second half to solve that problem - and replace him with an 18 year old making his league debut. Mowbray has left him with a shambles of a squad, it's going to take time to fix.
  19. It all depends what we do in the transfer window in the next few days.
  20. We missed Gallagher today - never thought I'd catch myself saying that.
  21. It's a shame if that's Brereton's last game in a Rovers shirt - he worked his socks off, but his end product was abysmal. Very much played like a man who has had his head scrambled with all the transfer talk. He was giving the bench every physical signal that he was knackered wanted to come off, but they had no one to bring on for him.
  22. I'd hate to be a 'Stokie' but I'd come away from that match thinking our tactics in the second half can't have been to repel wave after wave of Rovers attack - by hook or crook.
  23. He didn't change the tactics at all, just the personnel. Putting an athlete in Travis at RB instead of JRC and taking off the ineffective Buckley (he's not a #10) for Hedges made the world of difference. That result was daylight robbery.
  24. Watching a different game to me, clearly. If the ref plays advantage Brereton and Hedges score (they both put the ball in the back of the net). We battered them, but their two tall CBs dominated any crosses.
