  1. We didn't miss him defensively. We miss his distribution, which is crazy when you're relying on your CBs to pick defence splitting passes.
  2. Strange, I thought that was Armstrong's best game for a long while. Looked dangerous, although he was starved of service.
  3. I've seen enough of Gallagher to know he's a 10 goal a season striker at best - one that doesn't lead the line. Brereton I've no idea as he's had no game time at all. Personally I'd go 4-4-2 with Graham and Armstrong upfront. That means one of the Academy players or Chapman needs to be played at RW.
  4. I'd pick the same team that turned over Bristol City, so yes.
  5. I think our better players are in for a rude awakening if they think they're better than Blackburn Rovers. There isn't one player in our side that I'd peg to play in the Prem.
  6. I was so bored with the football, I was considering not renewing my season ticket. Effective, yes, but not entertaining at all.
  7. With this unbeaten run we're kind of where I expect us to finish with this squad. We simply don't have the players in attack to consistently put teams to the sword. Rothwell, Gallagher, Brereton and Armstrong aren't wide players, but are constantly asked to 'do a job' out there. I think we found the solution against Bristol Rovers - 4-4-2 with Holtby and Rothwell playing as L/RM rather than as AMR/L, supporting the two strikers. Mowbray seems tied to his current formation, however, so bar some stunning signings in January we'll continue to meander along in midtable.
  8. Nobody expected us to get rid of Allardyce and appoint Kean. Removing Allardyce wasn't the problem - the football was dire.
  9. It's blasphemy around here, but Holtby is a better player. Dack is just far too immobile and easily man marked out of games.
  10. Which one got skinned by Nyambe and scythed him down?
  11. Rothwell wants to play in CM, it's no wonder he's struggling shoved out on the left.
  12. Downing isn't a winger at this point in his career - he's made a very useful left back at this level though. To me, all of our front 4 today want to play through the middle - with Rothwell really wanting to play CM. Square pegs, round holes - reminds me of the Bowyer years where he bought good players, but not players for his system.
  13. I think this is our opportunity to switch to a 4-4-2. We looked more solid against Bristol City than we have for any of Mowbray's time in charge.
  14. I was going to say, based on that performance I'd love their keeper. Made two stand out saves.
  15. The lad that got skinned by Nyambe and scythed him down?
  16. I think Wigan Warriors turned up by mistake.
  17. Can't stand that man. Has the audacity to call out players for not putting a shift in when he stole a wage from us.
  18. Yep, playing upfront off a big target man would get the most out of him. I think he's currently shoehorned into the side because he has a bit of pace.
  19. Pretty much. You saw it in the Barnsley match, their manager looked at our bench in amazement. Besides a slight lack of pace out wide, we've got a very, very strong squad for this division. We should be challenging for the Playoffs.
  20. It's clearly Jordan Rhodes.
  21. I was going to say, based on that performance I don't know how Dack gets back in the team. But he will because he's our top goalscorer. Bit like Rhodes - you have to build your team around him, but he's a passenger for 80 minutes.
