  1. Yep, they'll grind out a lot of results with that style of football. I feel sorry for their fans.
  2. Of the two much criticised signings, he's the one that baffled me at the time. Brereton is turning into a very useful player. Gallagher, not so much. Has most of the attributes to be a good PL player, but doesn't use them.
  3. Agree to disagree. At the end of the day I turn up / tune in to be entertained. I HATED the Allardyce era at Rovers.
  4. Completely undeserved, but that's football for you. Also I can see why Hughton struggles to get jobs, despite being successful. Turgid football.
  5. Harsh, I thought he looked useful today.
  6. Bad pass from Armstrong that. Brereton was in.
  7. Anyone arguing that Dolan didn't deserve to be taken off is watching a different game.
  8. It feels like the FB has been told to stand off and not fall for the stepover. He needs another trick.
  9. Brereton has changed his boots.
  10. Have you seen the bench? Mowbray obviously doesn't fancy Davenport. Besides him, nobody on there will change the game.
  11. It makes me laugh that the stadium announcer goes through the whole routine "Ewood Park, please welcome back Blackburn Rovers" as Wild Rover starts playing. There's nobody in the stands, lads.
  12. The difference in composure between Lenihan and Ayala is startling.
  13. He's very quietly become our best CM. We miss the legs of Travis and Rothwell for sure.
  14. Dolan has been poor, but it's to be expected. He's young and learning the game. At this stage of his career he should be an impact sub - which I suspect he's about to be with the new signings.
  15. Lenihan hasn't learned - risked getting sent off there.
  16. This midfield 3 is too static for this formation. Almost back to the days of Smallwood and Evans clogging things up in the midfield.
  17. Take the shot every time. It's Amari Bell.
  18. He's not an athlete. It's why I'm nowhere near as excited about him as others seem to be. You have to be a spectacular footballer to make it if you can't run.
  19. Steven Reid sat on their bench - fond memories.
  20. He'd never get in the team.
  21. Why the eulogy? It's only a loan deal.
  22. If I was a PL goliath like Chelsea / Arsenal / Liverpool / Man U I'd look into turning a local, lower league, club into a feeder club. Then just loan them 5+ Academy players every year. Somewhere close enough that you can keep an eye on all of your players.
  23. The idea is they have one of the best Academies in the country. They hoover up any talent at a young age. Leaves them with a huge playing staff that needs to be loaned out to get first team football. Obviously it turns a profit too. It's a shame that it's allowed to happen as, more often than not, any stand out young player you see in the Championship is on loan from a PL club.
  24. I'm trying to think of the last player with world class attributes that trotted out in the blue and white halves. Bentley's crossing, maybe? Bellamy's pace?
