  1. The only time we've been that lucky is when Newcastle hired Souness. Lightning doesn't strike twice.
  2. That'd be a backwards step for him.
  3. Revolutionary, I know, but I'd sign a midfielder that can pass. We've not had one for years. The reason Tosin was the playmaker last year, and Mulgrew the years before, is because our CMs go hiding rather than coming short to get the ball and dictate play.
  4. Any news on outgoings? This squad needs trimming.
  5. Agree to disagree. Travis is a better athlete, has a better engine and is a better tackler.
  6. I genuinely don't think he's better than Travis, but yes how Mowbray misused him last season was criminal.
  7. He's better than what we've got, but Mowbray is part of the furniture.
  8. The manager didn't think Travis was good enough until he was forced to play him. He also seems to think Bennett is comparable to Nyambe. There's nothing daft and dangerous about having him as the 3rd / 4th option at CB (who, with the nature of the Championship, will be given plenty of time to prove himself). We still ABSOLUTELY need a quality CB partner for Lenihan.
  9. What's he meant to say to the in-house media team?
  10. Unfortunately there's no point. The Rao family could finish us as a club if they woke up on the wrong side of the bed.
  11. I wouldn't mind if he was industrious - someone with energy you can bring on with 15 minutes to go in midfield who shuts things down. He can't even do that these days. He's playing at least a level too high.
  12. I think Travis is a bit too emotional to be captain right now.
  13. It's not even that he's a crook. He's just a shit manager with no connections.
  14. He's gone away out on loan and done everything he possibly could - he even won League Two Player of the Month as a CB! He's played nearly 100 professional games, which is a damn sight more than the bloke we're looking to sign from the Polish league (who's the same age btw). He should absolutely be in the mix with the First XI next year. The last thing we want is another O'Connell. I'm biased, but our top Academy players should be given repeated chances to fail for us before we determine that they're not good enough.
  15. I said at the time - as soon as we fluffed it against Wigan and Barnsley, the team should have been packed with Academy prospects / young players who will be here next year to see what they're made of. Instead we trundled out the usual suspects. Rank bad management.
  16. He literally won't be at Swansea - didn't realise he was a Chelsea player. What a stranglehold the PL has on English football. "Oh that talented youngster you saw play for a Football League Club? Yeah, they're on loan".
  17. I can't be the only one that hates the Brentford model. Ditched the Academy (but built a new stadium) and have a foreign legion in a cloggers league. It's not good for the game, but of course nobody cares about that as it's currently successful.
  18. Yep and then we go and spend £5m on Gallagher or £7m on Brereton. It's criminal how poorly Mowbray has managed the funds he's been given (coming from someone who hates the Rao family).
  19. Looking at his history - a Spurs Academy graduate. Loaned out to Yeovil, but they only played him in the EFL Cup. Then went off to Poland. I don't think he's a hidden gem - and he absolutely shouldn't be getting a look in ahead of Wharton.
  20. So the owners are the ones who only allow Mowbray to buy players he's worked with in the past? Now that's a plot twist I didn't see coming.
  21. He wasn't at his best, but he was clearly giving it his all.
  22. Gallagher won't be at Swansea next year. He's the only one that's turned up tonight for them.
  23. Did Swansea know there's a game tonight? They haven't turned up.
