Ref started with a policy of 'if someone goes to the deck and somebody has even remotely touched them in any way, it's a foul'. Somewhere around the 30 minute mark he added an addendum - 'unless they're wearing blue and white, in which case even if they were fouled they can bugger off'.

We have had about 70 percent possession and lost games before. I'm not going to get too happy about the 75 percent possession, as high as it is. But the 3-0 is highly welcome.

I think his motivation will be immense tonight, so surely he will get on the pitch. Hopefully for a good stretch. We have seen what he can do when he is truly hungry. He has been very unfortunate that we brought Elliott in, who is fantastic but has stunted our own lad's development opportunities. I also don't think we should keep playing HE for 90 mins 3 times a week, he will burn out.

He did ok. Except for the part where his bizarre decision-making made their goal a lot easier than it should have been. Luckily he made amends by setting up ours. Not totally sold on him yet, but he has played a bit sporadically and will need time to adjust, physically as much as anything else.

The reason, and I was ranting at the screen about it before the cross came in, was that Douglas went chasing the potential pass out wide, leaving the guy who was already more central to have all the time and space in the world. I would call it amateurish, but most semi-pros and a lot of amateurs certainly wouldn't do it. I wouldn't, and I never got paid a penny to play football.

Quite honestly, I was willing him to punch the ref in the face, and I'm not sure I'd have had the restraint to not do if it were me. There's bad decisions going against you, and then there's two like that in a matter of what, a couple of minutes, at the death in a tightly poised game. It felt very much intentional after a whole game of giving Luton nearly everything, never booking them, and booking us repeatedly, plus barely giving BB a sniff on the fouls. I know he goes over easily, it's part of his game. I think the ref knew that and was trying to avoid giving him anything, but that's not how you manage it, you just read the fouls better. He was assuming it was a dive every time, and it wasn't.

The commentators had just talked about Rovers trying a patient buildup play, then he got the ball and just lumped it nowhere. Then did it again shortly after. I don't understand how or why he keeps doing this. Given he is usually poor at it and our game is about possession now (even if I have my issues with that), surely TM should be reading him the riot act and telling him to literally never lump it up unless it is as part of a counter attack. If then. Annoyingly he keeps doing the same thing in my FM game at the moment in the Prem, and it's the main reason I'm thinking of getting shut.

Don't agree, looked in a lot of pain last time. Second time on the same injury though could certainly mean a longer absence though.

Elliott's least effective game for us today, he doesnt look quite his usual self. Still early days with Trybull and I'll not cast an opinion in stone on him yet, but so far I'm not really convinced. Seems a bit pedestrian, unadventurous in his passing and yet still fannies about with it too much at the back, risking there when he shouldn't. Rothwell has been excellent. Don't like that he keeps looking injured off the ball though, may need to come off but our main threat of making something happen today.

Yeh I meant the max we could name, not the max we could use. Totally in favour of the rule change personally. Intensive schedule, certainly helps us with our playing style, injury woes and the amount of players we could do with taking more of a look at. But I'd probably have been in favour of it without any of that. The 5th sub should have to be a keeper though IMO.
