We defended like Spartans today. I saw an interview with who I think was Leeds' assistant manager, and he said they didn't manage to dominate the game like they have the last few matches. And it made me think, I don't think anybody has dominated the game against us all season except Sheff U? We are a very hard side to play against, exceptionally organised at the back. I don't think we've been so well drilled since the Allardyce days. I wasn't a big Eustace fan last season, but now his style has taken hold it has made us a very tough proposition. As we all know, we just need a bit more up top and then we should be able to make the playoffs. The budget will be infuriatingly shit again of course, so we just have to hope we find some great bargains and finally get over the line.

I can't imagine it will go down as a Gueye assist as it landed with a Leeds defender first, but he certainly made that happen. I'd say that negates his weird assist where he should've scored instead, and hopefully we can shut up about that one now when people discuss his assists tally. He is an unorthodox player and he certainly isn't a goal machine, but he does cause problems for opponents and makes things happen.

Likely our highest paid player though, probably by some distance given the wages we have shed recently. I'd guess he's on 20k here, personally, despite what 'capology' thinks.

I would imagine he's on about 4-6k. I'd be totally fine paying him 8k per week and I'd consider anything up to about 10k.

Well, if you don't, it's far stranger still to suggest someone who isn't Championship-ready to play regularly for the team you support in the Championship. (And before you get pedantic by saying you never said he should play regularly, the player you suggest he replaces, does play regularly)

Makes sense as a long term replacement perhaps...not sure it makes sense as a replacement while Rodri is injured. Adam has been out most the season himself and has just had a setback in his recovery. He also isn't world class yet.

A mistake they must have learnt a lesson fro- oh ok I see your point. This one does at least sound like he may be able to compete right away if he is as good as being claimed and already starting regularly in League One. But tbh I think our name has been put out by an agent as a way to get the glut of other clubs supposedly hovering to make a move. If several Championship clubs are interested in a player of that profile, he'll be moving for in excess of a million, and whilst we may have been willing to put what was it, about 300k into getting O'Riordan? I can't think we would spend above triple that for a very young defender when we need goals and haven't much of a pot to piss in.

I can't imagine they're right. A 19 yr old League One CB doesn't seem like the best use of a limited budget.

Chaddy, when people say someone is crap, they usually mean 'crap for this level'. Which Lowe and Akpan absolutely were. They just don't want to have to put 'for this level' every time they say it, as it's a hassle.

When the current crop make it into the first team as at least squad members, or don't. There really is no other worthwhile metric of it. I know it's sadly a waiting game to judge it, but that's just how it is.
