Enjoying the interviews so far, GB looks a very competent director. Actions speak louder than words however and the more important reason for positivity is the forward thinking evident in successfully signing up out best young talents to long / very long contracts. This seems from the outside to be a drastic improvement on the previous regime and long may it continue.

You can usually tell which rovers have shown up after the first ten minutes but not so today, unusually «neutral» first half and I actually thought we would draw. The Luton manager made some changes at the break and we had no response whatsoever. Mid-table here we go.

My prediction is that Bristol City will play a lot better than Blackpool did. Still think we will win though, 3-1 with BBD, Hirst and Buckley to score. I think it's simply down to fitness. JDT seems to demand players get up to high fitness levels before playing them if he can and Markanday isn't there yet.

Harsh. The Norwegian league might not be all that but the work done at Bodø/Glimt is not far short of a miracle. If they played Rovers they would absolutely murder us.

Could also be 4 at the back with a midfield diamond, Travis as DM. Who knows.

Also Travis and Buckley is as a good a central midfield pairing as there is in this division. Our forward line has been disappointing today though.

Ayala is massive for us. Keep him fit and we’ll have a good season.

Hedges has been pretty good. Brittain decent but has a tendency to slow things down too much for my liking. Maybe the kind of thing you do in a relegated team and can be unlearned.
