  1. I doubt even 3,000. The novelty seems to worn off with Boro fans.
  2. Indeed it is Gav. That’s why I never get hot under the collar about discussions on here, as it rarely reflects what I hear on a match day. I just enjoy some of the contributions.
  3. I suppose there is a lack of balance as only a small minority want a new manager.
  4. Middlesbrough game at Ewood moved to Sunday 17th Feb (1pm) for Sky. (But it is FA Cup 5th round weekend, so maybe not).
  5. They said something similar for the Derby midweek game, when the actual crowd was nowhere near. Looks as if we’ll be on our own up int Gods as that article suggests the top level isn’t open for their fans.
  6. Does it matter? Ive not met a single person at games who thinks he’s done anything but a good job. You thought his appointment was a disgrace, that doesn’t matter either as long as you back him and his players at the ground. Some people on here think we can do better or he can, fair enough, debate that, instead of keep banging on about an old thread from a time he had us mid table in the third division over a year ago, or do you want your thoughts on his appointment constantly raked up?
  7. Think you’re right Mark. And if thats how it is, then fine. But there needs to be a much better scouting/decision making system around it. Not just ‘he’s young and English, get him in, he’ll double in value after a few games’. It will see as many misses as hits and a shed load of money down the toilet.
  8. How do the two things compare in any way? The lad cost a shed load and has been very poor. Folk are just saying what they see. We can only hope he comes good, but he looks a long way off at the moment.
  9. End of the day him and his team get plenty of support at the grounds and that’s all that matters. An internet forum, like the pub is a place to vent and that won’t change and it shouldn’t either. So on here, say what you want and don’t just ‘get behind the manager/team ffs!’
  10. The January calendar curse is broken! https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17331536.bradley-dack-and-tony-mowbray-discuss-his-rovers-future/
  11. Probably end up about 2,500 which is what I expected really. We played there only a couple of years back and many other times besides so no real novelty. Plus it’s a faf and expensive to get to by train and we’ve had 3 northern away games in 10 days.
  12. Old Man Graham was still charging around at a decent clip after 80 minutes. BB was ambling about like a tranquillised giraffe in his cameo. The lack of confidence in front of goal I can accept, it’s the rest of his game and general demeanour that worries me.
  13. These stats always make me laugh ‘Worst start in history’ Wow, that bad? No, just since the ‘Championship’ was ‘re-launched’ in 2004/05. They just re-badged it, you fool!
  14. Travis: ’I want to be the main man and the first name on the teamsheet’ https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2019/january/i-want-to-be-the-first-name-on-the-teamsheet/
  15. Pringles and full sugar coke. Outrageous stuff! Footballers today. Carb loading, I presume?
  16. Agreed BDS. But generally speaking you need to see something to make you want to ‘give them time’. Some just aren’t up to it and need sacking before they do lasting damage.
  17. It depends. If you think the manager is merely on a bad run, then of course sacking them can be counter productive, but it shouldn’t be a mantra for all circumstances. How much time did Coyle need?
  18. For all the limitations of Smallwood, he’s still twice the player Lowe is.
  19. Looking at social media over Christmas, the problem Blackburn has is that as its nightlife declined from the back end of the 2000s onwards loads of other places around here improved. I saw folk out in Clitheroe, Whalley, Darwen, Preston, Burnley and obviously Manchester for a big ‘un. A lot of those people would have been out in Blackburn a decade ago, now they wouldn’t even think of it. It’s a vicious circle, despite the marginal improvement this past couple of years, folk still see it as crap, so don’t go, not enough decent bars open. As there’s not enough footfall, not enough decent bars open.
  20. Thought Cook was the best thing since a pie sandwich over there... https://forums.vitalfootball.co.uk/threads/surely-dead-man-walking.89371/
  21. Rovers fans don’t really do cup ties (unless it’s Liverpool). Usually because the majority of season ticket holders don’t bother with them (and don’t get counted in the crowd anyway like a league match). We’ve had some real poor turnouts in recent years even for quarter finals and the likes. So for a January midweek I think we’d be struggling, though possible if Newcastle brought plenty.
  22. Sell out? For a midweek third round replay against Newcastle? I wouldn’t imagine more than 7/8000 home fans, even at a tenner.
  23. It was Cat A today because the club imagined West Brom would bring plenty of fans to rip off - they didn’t, so the whole business plan for today went out the window. What should have happened is £15 tickets anywhere in the ground. We’d have sold a fair few more and so would WBA. Of course we never do see such initiatives and I do worry that the all important window of season ticket sales in the summer will see more of the same - price rises, late to be put on sale, no thoughts of how to get folk back in the tent.
  24. I remember a fair number of Forest fans being fairly gutted by him leaving (some weren’t particularly arsed mind). So they must have seen something from him far and away over what we’ve witnessed thus far.
  25. £30 a ticket for mid table second division, no wonder. Though at the end of the day it’s all about season tickets at Rovers and we just didn’t sell enough in the summer.
