  1. You can't deny that at times the football under Bowyer got very dull and under Lambert it was dire too. It's a sport and results driven but there is also a desire for entertainment too. Most fans are satisfied with being bored but winning rather than entertained but losing. I was for a long time. But when we stopped winning too then the product on offer was very dull.
  2. I don't not attend because it's not interesting. I stopped attending because a combination of factors (closure of my stand, retirement meaning I was missing more and more matches, my husband's reluctance to attend, poor quality product, enjoyment of other sports, family life) meant I reached my tipping point. Enjoyment of the actual football was a small part of it. If it mattered that much, I'd have been back last season when Rovers rediscovered how to win.
  3. And why would I have an opinion on that?
  4. We used to bet on what the ticket required would be before arriving at the ground. No prizes or money involved but just a game to get the kuds to walk a bit more quickly on their way to the ground
  5. I never tweet. Just follow a handful of people and skim read every few days. Not how it's meant to work I know but I've no desire to get into the nasty side of things
  6. Yes they sent out a mail shot to those who'd had season tickets in the last five years at least. Don't know if those who bought tickets on a match basis were contacted too
  7. His wallet was nicked
  8. We've been too polarised for too long. Too much point scoring. Too many positive/negative debates. It'll take a while for the board to settle. And so many people no longer attend matches on the regular basis they did before. People like me who don't attend don't comment as often.
  9. Some would be back. You have to balance what you'd gain in numbers, atmosphere, in ground spend, etc against what you'd lose in ticket revenues. Holding the price steady might have been worth it. Well never know
  10. It's worse on twitter than Facebook as you get team selection quite often after you get the result of the match
  11. I know I should be furious about this but I'm not. I've seen it all so many times with kids at school. You misbehave you get 10 mins at break, but when the class is dismissed and you're meant to stay, you walk out with everyone else. So the teacher makes it a lunchtime detention and you fail to turn up. So it goes to a formal after school detention with notice to parents and you fail to turn up again, at which point you get the parents in and mum or dad has to guarantee they attend the detention. At each stage the kid thinks it'll get forgotten about and their parents will never have to know. But generally, however long it takes, they have to bite the bullet and do the punishment which is always worse than the initial offence probably warranted and would have taken no time at all to complete. As someone said earlier, footballers are, in many cases, just like schoolkids. He needs to sort himself out and stop letting down decent honest folk who have gone out on a limb for him and to get himself back playing asap
  12. When my daughter turned up to interview him several years ago at Stoke he was very patronising. I've never been a fan since
  13. Surely Dack is better to wait until January and see what offers come in then. Play well and who knows
  14. Which pub do you drink in Stuart? Remind me not to go there. 6-7 million pound pint?
  15. A pedants' discussion and I'm not part of it. Wow!
  16. It's definitely 5 https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/loan-window-closes-efl-championship-1875674.amp
  17. You may be right. I just thought I heard 5 on tv yesterday. Googled it. 5
  18. Unlike some of the others which we have been linked with and he's said no to because of attitude, this one carries no risks. We can get rid if we need to
  19. I'd hope not but 100% not selling? I'm not sure
  20. Do we? We never know anything with Venkys at the helm
  21. I'd agree. Didn't always agree with Rev's opinion but at least his articles were properly written and presented
  22. What a poorly written article that is!
  23. It's not just missing a few games though. I currently would miss at least half. And I wouldn't expect a guaranteed seat as though I were a season ticket holder. If you made it lower category matches only or something like that I can't see that it wouldn't be feasible. Mind you I'll be an OAP by the time the next season starts so eligible for lower priced season ticket anyway. It might be an idea worth exploring though for people like Lancaster Rover who has explained his reasons for being unable to justify having a season ticket
