  1. And Stokes still did his calf, even without bowling 2 innings running
  2. Love listening to the cricketers after matches. Respect all round. Coherent speech. And never satisfied with their performance even after a match like that. Such a contrast to footballers.
  3. I enjoyed the Living and the dead. Not that it was brilliant but o liked being able to watch the whole series before it was all on tv. We got it out if the way before we go away. Couple of other things we are watching we won't see till we are home again.
  4. Yes but not generally till later. If we are sensible we should get it over the line
  5. Think venkys are making me cynical! Lol
  6. There was speculation that they wanted another look at some of the batsmen like ballance and vince who have not been exactly prolific so far but if Root and Cook stay in for a while that won't work either. Personally I wonder if it's to take it to a 5th day maximising revenue. Too many tests have ended early recently and that must be costing cricket and Sky
  7. They said it wouldn't have been the coach's decision. It's cooks. They said it might be easing Anderson and Stokes back in after their injuries. Don't know. I'd have gone for the follow on too but there must be a reason cook opted to bat.
  8. No you are quite correct. 29 apiece. Woakes carrying on where he left off at Lords now. Hope this time he is on the winning side. Did well with the bat too.
  9. Yorkshire won by 75 against previously top of the table Northants and without Root, Bairstow and Ballance! Up to 3rd after languishing at the bottom for quite some time
  10. Lovely batting from Root and Cook today
  11. It wont look much fuller than that on match days i suspect
  12. Buttlers thumbis presumably why hes not playing and Bairstow is not a number 4.
  13. Don't drink beer so wouldn't know, and you are talking Clitheroe and a tourist venue. That's the way it goes nowadays.
  14. Ate at Holmes mill in clitheroe today. Was good
  15. I was at old trafford and yorkshire were never really in it apart from roots batting. Im not saying yorkshire should win with a full strength team, just replying to the fact that someone said lancs had a weakened team. Im an oddity anyway in that im a T20 ST holder at old trafford and like watching lancs win, except when yorks come to town. Then i remember my roots(no pun intended) and want yorks to win.
  16. Hang on. That was a yorkshire team without bairstow, Root, Plunkett, Rashid. Weakened Lancs may be but not more so than yorkshire.
  17. Very different now. You should see the wooden chalets on the lakeside. Cost more than my house in clitheroe.
  18. Very nice site. Very quiet where we are. Good owner facilities. Can't complain
  19. We have a caravan on the site at Flookburgh so it's local to us when we're up there
  20. Yorkshire have been rubbish at T20. They are bottom and will almost certainly finish bottom. They do better in the longer forms of the game except injuries to bowlers this season have caused them a lot of problems.
  21. don't know but roses matches usually are
  22. Tom Moores did pretty well on debut. Buck bowled well and Parry was outstanding with figures of 5 for 13 off his 4 overs. Lancs looked like they hadn't got enough on the board at the end of their innings given that Worcestershire are 3rd in the table and win lots of away games, but the lancs bowling and fielding was excellent today and Worcestershire neve got into the match at all.
  23. yes it is a word
  24. Dip in form. Happens to everyone at some point. He was good against Lancs in the T20 and hasn't done it since. Hell bounce back
  25. Yes. Yorkshire managed it by one run. Presumably they had noted the weather forecast
