  1. As I said on another thread , why should they ? If , as is often claimed , the worthies at Ewood read this forum , then they must already be aware of the strength of feeling and should act accordingly by banning the useless drummers either permanently of temporarily as an experiment . I would certainly not waste any of my time standing outside the ground with a petition in order to convince someone of a problem they should already be aware of . Remember , THEY are supposed to be selling a product , it's not up to us to do their job for them . At the end of the day , if the drummer were to come anywhere near me I'd simply vote with my feet ....if not my fists Come to that , Paul - have BRISA ever raised the issue ? Or , like the worthies , do you not consider it that much of a problem ?
  2. That may be true , Stu , but only in the short term . We already have a decent family following but if kids aren't allowed to get in for nowt to compensate for the overpriced tickets then the long term future is bleak . Against Everton andf most away teams I don't think this would affect their support (and our gate money) - they're not going to be bringing kids anyway . I keep banging on about this but I honestly feel the Rovers are very unimaginative in this area . At least they should try it and see . Who knows ?
  3. They should do . They are the providers of a product ; we are the consumers . It is not up to you or me to do their research for them .
  4. The ONLY way £39 could ever be justified for a game at Ewood would be if 2 or 3 free tickets were given to accompanying children . Rovers seem reluctant to do this on a permanent basis and are in grave danger of alienating both the walk on customers AND the future supporters . I've been a season ticket holder for yonks but if I was a walk on supporter I would be walking on to the nearest pub at these prices .
  5. When I was younger I used to have a particularly frightful nightmare , the details of which escape me . The catch was that when I "woke" up I used to thank my lucky stars it was over ....but then the nightmare carried on , ie , I wasn't awake at all . When I finally did awake I used to have to walk round the room for ages until I convinced myself it was really over Maybe our amateur psychologist Flopsy could interpret this haunting phenemonon .....
  6. Not all that closer to them - I tend to sit fairly central . All I hear from the BBE is an embarrassing drumming sound . The away fans put the BBE to shame in nearly every match . ....and have they done anything ? Perhaps it should be the club making moves to find out what the fans want . They want our money don't they ?
  7. Well , any future building projects should be vetted by the Welsh by the looks of it
  8. Didn't someone else score 5 goals on that day ? Stole a bit of SG's glory somewhat I remember .
  9. Yorklancs Utd more like
  10. Well that's the price for devolution Let's hope the Taffs follow suit
  11. Close to reality , Flops ? In what respect ? You always seem to defend the status quo ......(not the group though ...hopefully !)
  12. I'm afraid that this can't be blamed on the TV producers - it's actually true that the BBE is outsung by the opposition nearly all the time . Another consequence of the drummers and the ability to kill the atmosphere....When will the Rovers act ?
  13. I sit up there at the Darwen End side and the drummer still annoys me . (Why haven't BRISA acted?) . Like everyone says , a fantastic view - you can always move more central - if a little sedate .
  14. You're looking a long time ahead , jim ....
  15. The most important thing in music is the melody - everything else is secondary . That's been true right across the range from Mozart to the Beatles to the mighty Abba . That's my two lines on this topic
  16. If you're going to read Shogun on holiday I suggest you take a gap year off ...if I remember it was over 1000 pages long Tremendous book though ; so good I read it twice . Better than Tai Pan I reckon . King Rat is good one of his also - better size for the suitcase .
  17. A more one sided game I can't remember seeing . Wonder if Fergie will go with the kids this season .
  18. I thought The Godfather was one of the most overrated books I've ever read . Not a patch on the film . Puzo did the screenplay I know but Coppola was the driving force that turned it into a work of genius . Try the DVD trilogy if you're a big fan Matt - some good extras in there . (Don't bother with no 3 though....)
  19. A couple of reports on the radio today were predicting an even hotter August . Not sure how much you can rely on long term forecasts but it would be nice
  20. Boris Johnson's ..The Dream of Rome is an entertaining , easy to read holiday book . A better writer than footballer I'm pleased to say
  21. Just tell him he's an ignorant pig , Eddie ....
  22. Pretentious as well as senile .....
  23. I'll disregard the needless insult but I'm sure other nations concentrate more on ball skills at younger ages rather than the pointless 11 a side tournaments we seem to concentrate on at school level . More 5 a sides where the players have more possession of the ball , I say .
  24. Nice to see so many Ramones fans out there . Check out the DVD's End of the century and Ramones Raw . Available on E-bay...
