  1. £126! did you have a voucher! Last time I went it was close to that for 3! and we didn't have lots of drink either, good job actually as Shebby Singh was in that night and I was going to "Have a word with him directly" until the Mrs bundled me out Regardless of the price its a good place, the best in the area by far for me, glad you enjoyed it.
  2. I love Yu and You, but you're right, the wallet will take a major hit
  3. Did I hear yesterday that KP is looking to play cricket for SA? Or am I dreaming?
  4. I don't like Fury because he's an idiot, with views that belong in the dark ages, not because he's a gypsy, playing the race card shows him for exactly what he is, an complete tool. He's no motivation for fighting Klitschko now do we really need a Tyson Fury in boxing? I'm not sure we do. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/36038621
  5. I think they're desperate to fight Mayweather, and who wouldn't be with the riches on offer, and time isn't on Khans side with Mayweather looking to retire with his record intact. If Khan beats Alvarez it puts more pressure on Mayweather to fight him, if Khan takes his time Mayweather and the cash will disappear forever. Thats my take on things anyway.
  6. Its a good time domestically with all the fighters you mention, Kel Brook needs a big fight now, time for Eddie Hearn to deliver. No you're quite right about Fury, he probably didn't have it easy, but that doesn't mean he has to act like a kn0bhead now though. Watching him and Saunders before the Eubank v Blackwell fight, surprised nobody has said anything about their antics winding Eubank up, thought is was very distasteful, Saunders waving the belt on Chris Snrs face egged on by Fury, just not needed in my opinion. What do you think about Eubank jnr? the lads got the tools, seems to have most things but lacks power? or thats my feeling? I'm not Amir Khans biggest fan but i tip my hat to the lad for fighting Saul Alvarez, thats a tough fight, couple of weight divisions up I believe, which certainly puts question marks against his biggest attribute, his speed. I may even stay up for this one, its been a while since I did the 3am boxing thing.
  7. I've missed you on this thread ojw, glad you're back and I mean it Joshua has turned his life around, was probably born into an environment where he had little opportunity so turned to crime, but thats all history now. With the right management he could go right to the top and dominate the division like Lewis did, that can only be good for Britain.
  8. One of the best catches I've ever seen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_2KCA0mYNM
  9. Interesting that the Manny Pacquiao/Timothy Bradley Jr. fight passed us by almost unnoticed last night! Manny says he's now retiring after putting on a vintage performance against Bradley, report here: http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id/15174152/manny-pacquiao-outpoints-timothy-bradley-jr-final-fight
  10. I disagree about Haye, the mans all hype as we saw when he fought Klitschko, but I agree its an interesting domestic division on the world stage if you get my drift. Joshua could dominate the division for years to come if his career is managed correctly, interesting division domestically for sure. I just watched a short documentary about Joe Calzaghe, what a champion he was, heart, dedication, boxing skill and craft, just the real deal, a credit to the sport of boxing.
  11. Fury deserves credit, not respect, for doing a number on Klitschko, no doubt about that. His tactics on the night didn't seem to be about boxing his opponent at all and I'm not sure he could replicate the footwork again if required, but he got the job done, credit to him. Maybe I'll watch the fight again, only seen it once, I may see things differently. But hey it's all about opinions donnermeat, wouldn't do for us all to agree all of the time pal.
  12. Didn't Joshua win a gold medal as an amature, also was awarded an MBE?I've absolutely no problem with boxers that court controversy, Mayweathers a wife beater, a complete loony, but as a boxer I respect the guy. Tyson has a rap sheet as long as the queue for tickets for a Burnley home game (and that's long) but as a boxer he was absolutely superb in his pomp. But Fury is an embarrassment to the sport, won the title by hitting Klitschko 80 times and thinks women should be in the kitchen or on their backs, he's an idiot with a platform beyond his intelect.
  13. Give me an Anthony Joshua any day over a Tyson Fury. I agree the division needed a shake up, but not by someone who talked more than he punched. Fury is an embarrassment to the sport, the sooner he retires the better.
  14. Fury v Klitschko rematch set for July 9th, although the Klitschko camp are yet to confirm. Fingers crossed Klitschko brings some order back to the division and takes those belts back off Fury, the mans an embarrassment to the sport.
  15. It was said in commentary that the bowling coach was probably the man that suggested Root open, but when Chris Gayle never opened the batting, that wasn't a given, and bottom line is Morgans the captain and ultimately has the final say, so he deserves some credit. But hey its not worth rowing over, we lost, I can accept that, if only Rovers had as bright a future as Stokes and England cricket team
