  1. WBA have had a mixed bag of results of late but make no mistake about it, they're a very good side. If we came away with a draw I'd be over the moon, but I can't see anything but a home win in this one sadly. WBA 3 Rovers 1 Bit of trivia, The Hawthorns is the highest ground above sea level in the country, I live 15miles away and I still don't get it.....
  2. Sounded a relatively peaceful day yesterday, but I hope they catch the nugget who threw a bottle at Raya in the 2nd half, or if not at Raya, certainly into his penalty area. CCTV - over to you.
  3. Chaddy bashing eh? How fookin boring, no wonder the place is on its arse.... Great result today, you could hear a pin drop in the Darwen End for large parts, tremendous, well chuffed for the regulars. Mowbray is doing a terrific job, I think only Pep and Cooke at Wigan have collected more points in the same period and long may it continue. Onwards and upwards.
  4. Even If you charged £20 for every game, the gates wouldn't increase significantly, those thousands of seats would still remain unsold. The only way to fill those seats is to keep improving on the pitch.
  5. I never read any comments like that to be honest, he was always objective and fought his battle by marching with others which deserves respect. Waggot put himself firmly in '@#/? to the fans' column when he closed the Darwen End and moved those season ticket holders without any consultation. Thats no way to treat your own supporters, we maybe a club that's hit on hard times, but the fans are used to being treated with respect and watching football at the highest level, maybe Waggot needs to up his game in that respect. But I'm not worried personally about our support, it's in good shape as far as I'm concerned.
  6. I don't recall him ever insulting posters? We all boycott for different reasons, you hated the football under Coyle and that was your reason, some would say that's not really an excuse, support yer club! I packed in under king rat, otherwise I'd have lost my liberty at some point, some would say that's not an excuse either, support yer club. But Neal gave up for the reasons he's given and spent his time protesting and trying to bring attention to our plight, Bpool's and cr@p owners in general, which is a damn site more than most have ever done. He's now back and enjoying his football and for one don't have the slightest issue with that, because he's like the rest of us, Rovers through and through.
  7. The going rate at the time Matty? The Trust owed is nothing, you sell the club to the highest bidder, like selling your house..... Ive never understood the moaning and groaning about the deal, the Pune rats bought the club and it was sold in good faith.
  8. If the sides doing well the fans will turn up, it's been the case for as long as I've been going, and despite those Indian rats best efforts it hasnt changed today. The supports in good shape, improve the product, improve the gates.
  9. I've seen Leeds a few times this season and they're a good side, full of running with a bit of quality thrown in for good measure, but they've only won 2 of the last 7. I'd put Leeds in the same catagory as Derby and Sheff Utd, so I'd take a draw now, 1-1.
  10. Your favourite manager and mine used to adopt that approach week in week out and failed away from home almost every match we played. You loved that approach then 47er? It was a very good 3 points at a ground where we don't usually come away with anything, just enjoy the win and bragging rights.
  11. Thats a great result, especially after the mauling we took in mid week. A 1-0 win at Bolton is better than I expected and credit to Mowbray for picking that side from the off and then sealing off the win. I hope all the Rovers fans in Leyland, Wheelton, Adlo and Chorley enjoy that tonight. The Bolton game for them is bigger than burnley, enjoy it ?
  12. I'm sure I'm missing the context here, because you have much more sense than to be advocating a change of manager TS. To even suggest such a thing should encourage howls of derision, closely followed by men in white coats dragging you away for electric shock treatment! But to last nights game, a bit like Derby away, both opposition teams are just better than us, it's as simple as that. Sheff Utd looked a top 6 side for long periods, great movement and most players 1 step ahead our lot. They're the benchmark for me so far this season, the place we need to be, but we're on the right track.
  13. Plenty have moved on, you should think about doing the same. It doesn't make you less of a fan, we all agree he's a 'c u next Tuesday' If he ever comes back to Ewood in any capacity I for one will be waiting for an 'autograph', but for now it's all about the present.
  14. We probably wouldn't have won the league cup no, nor the FA Cup, but anyone who thinks resting players for a promotion push is living in cloud cuckoo land in my opinion. So what's left Davey? What reason have we rested key players? So they can run around Marbella until 4am on the next International break? Doesn't make any sense to me, you play your best players at our level, no excuses.
  15. Sorry Parson but it's an absolute blight on modern day football that hurts the paying public. The worse cases such as Cardiff away in the cup under **** will live long in the memory. You play your best team, With a full strength side we'd have won last night, like Derby did at Utd. We won this competition in 2002, one of the many highlights supporting the club...but we won't be winning it this year because the manager doesn't think it's important. Take nothing away from the players on show by the way, good performer by all accounts.
  16. First time in a long time I feel the need to critisize the manager. Why on earth are we dropping players so early in the season? And worse of all the reason given: 'We won't get back till 4am'!! They'll be tired!! What about the fans Mowbray? The 200 or so loyal fans that are making that 12hr round trip? They deserved better last night and were let down by the manager. Not good enough.
  17. I didn't follow the game yesterday but taking this result in isolation I have to agree with an earlier poster, this was probably the best result we've had under Mowbray. I'd even go as far as to say it's the best result since Venkys started the destriction of the club. A side recently promoted from league 1 beating a recently relegated Premiership club with the likes of Ince, Berahinio, Allen and Adobe in its ranks is a superb achievement, and we should all be very proud of the players and manager. We are by no means the finished article, I believe we are some way off challenging the top 6, but progress under Mowbray has been nothing short of remarkable under the circumstances, and long may it continue. Onwards and upwards.
  18. We definitely didn't beat them in the Premiership winning season, I along with 4000 fellow Rovers can vouch for that. Tremendous following that day, loud and proud, but they did us a favour in the final game. But yes West Ham is certainly a bogey ground, as is Old Trafford. Never seen us win at either.....
  19. I don't live in Lancashire myself but I made a special effort to visit here last time I was in the area: http://www.thecartfordinn.co.uk/ superb place to eat, a bit out of the way but worth it.
  20. The Verve - Lucky man
  21. It's absolutely disgusting, vile and I hope he gets locked up if they can pin the drugs on the scumbag. What makes you cruise round a red light area looking for vulnerable women to abuse? Scum
  22. Ah yes, can't argue with that pal, spot on. Have you Seen the Billy Joe Saunders story from earlier today? I was warming to Fury after his last fight, but he's guilty by association, they don't give a toss, and whilst I hesitate in saying this I do believe it's cultural, b0llox to the rules, they don't apply to us, sad really.
  23. Can't see that happening Bigs.
  24. In what way tomphil?
