  1. Cabin End? I recall pom-poms being given out in the Blacknurn end, NEVER TOOK ANY THOUGH United had 5-6k in the Darwen end and 2k in the enclosure, so gate could have been right. But I know what you mean about the riverside.
  2. God its like yesterday, and I still have the ticket somewhere also. Great Stuff
  3. At the time I went, I couldn't afford to pay for your family as well as mine!
  4. I don't mind paying for good food but that place is disgracefully over priced. Plenty of better places at a fraction of the price.
  5. Best of the bunch in no particular order: Thyme Three fishes (until yesterday when i had lancs hotpot and it was poor) Olive press Bolton Fence gate San Carlo manchester Sylhet Bangla Restaurant Langho Anaz best indian in Darwen! Sakura Teppenyaki Preston was great and different
  6. Great memories remember it like it was yesterday, although looking at it now it was brutal from our boys.
  7. Went to see the cribs last night at Manchester academy, very good, but the highlight of the evening was them being joined on stage by Johnny Marr and doing The Smiths classic Panic. Saw Richard hawley on Friday night in Hebdon Bridge, 200 seater picture house with no ale. Still the gig was good.
  8. Not a Garner link but a look at the old Ewood even though we get beat.
  9. They're very much in the Ashley Cole mould of out of touch with genuine fans, I could start a list but I'll not bother. I can hardly bring myself to support England because of the three of them
  10. Here we have Cole whose sole motivation is money, did a TV series visiting his old haunts and meeting his old mates in a Bentley continental, how far detracted from reality can the guy be? He's a disgusting individual who deserves nothing, but unfortunately has everything. God I hate Ashley Cole, and Lampard and Terry
  11. By the way, this is Debs not GAV! I can't be bothered logging out and in again as me.
  12. "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy recommended by Debs A brief description: I've read it. I thought it was fantastic although very disturbing. I've read most of Cormac McCarthy's books and this one is very different, being set in a post apocolyptic world. Some of the themes and grittiness are similar to his earlier books, as is his writing style, which I love but I know it's not to everyone's taste +++ This is a story about a father and his child travelling along a road searching for some sort of better world in a burning post apocolyptic USA. There is no explaination in the book about what caused the end of the world, and suprisingly that doesn't matter. The story focuses on the relationship between the two of them and particularly the father's desire to protect his son both physically and morally from other desperate survivors driven to gruesome acts to stay alive. I found it a very disturbing and thought provoking book.
  13. If memory serves me correctly it was 4k at Stoke that day. The following at Stoke that ended the unbeaten run of 20+ games was massive, many Rovers fans locked out that day and I DIDN'T GO........ decided to go to Plymouth instead........Reports said 5-6k but I wasn't there, SG194??????
  14. Yours if memory serves me correctly Or maybe I was stood on the big step towards the riverside, who remembers the big step, I know Debs and Giddygoat do.
  15. Don't think I can ever remember the Blackburn end being as full as it was for the Villa match, wonderful scenes and great memories. My VHS tape snapped some years ago, I had all this stuff, great to see it again.
  16. Yes agreed and a few words from John Bond thrown in also
  17. Still not as good as we're seeing currently, but we did see some good football with Duff, Dunn and Jansen in full flow. Look at the players we have now, some of them would grace any top four side without any problem, but we have them at ewood and for that we should be grateful.
  18. It’s a fact pal; this is the best football played and squad since we won the league. Enjoy it while it lasts........
  19. We are watching the best side we've had since 94/95 in terms of challenging for honours. We've got the feeling that every time we go down to ewood we're going win, and personally I’ve not had that feeling since shearer played for the famous blue and whites. To criticize the crowd is old news SG, let’s face it we're just not going to attract the support the team deserves and that is something we must live with. Let’s enjoy the moment, the team deserves better but unfortunately the town just can’t support the club anymore than it currently does.
  20. Seems like yesterday.
  21. Agree with that, great album.
  22. Only at football would you be treated like that, its an absolute disgrace yet the police get away with it week after week all over the country.

    Derek Dougan Dies

My dad also blames him for our defeat in the cup final, but RIP.
  24. Was sat in an internet cafe in Nerja, longest 90 minutes of my life and was thrown out for being to loud and the owner called the police...... Great night even though we were so far away, looking back I still can't believe we didn't cancel the holiday.
