  1. I'm not clicking that 😤 - But get the point 👍 https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/whats-on/food-drink/hull-city-dish-voted-best-8292958 Hull City winning an award for the katsu chicken with chips dish beat off strong competition from Bolton Wanderers' chicken tikka dirty fries, and West Bromwich Albion's BBQ bacon-loaded fries. Nobody cares..
  2. Spot on. I guess this is just another example of laziness by the Exec Team, they signed a contract with a national caterer, easy, cheap and job done, sod the fans and the matchday experience. To give them come credit, we have Indian Street food, but the ambitions stops right there. We have a plethora of outstanding food and drink outlets across Lancashire, the football club could boost the local economy whilst delivering an outstanding product on the concourses, but it takes a bit of extra work and back office staff to manage. Nobody cares, we all know that.
  3. Cormac McCarthy, America's Pulitzer Prize-winning author - has died aged 89. Brilliant doesn’t even start to describe his work, No country for old men being one such masterpiece.
  4. Going to see Bruce Springsteen at Villa Park on Friday, saw him last time he was here for the Wrecking Ball tour and he was outstanding. Reports from the gigs up to now is he's still as good as ever, looking forward to it. Also got Johnny Marr and Morrissey gigs coming up over the next few weeks, sadly not together. Mrs is refusing to go and see Morrissey as: "He's a right wing arsehole, he's always been the same" but I'm sure she'll come round, if she doesn't I'll still be going 🍺
  5. Although on a slightly bigger scale, where season ticket waiting lists are long, Rangers do a similar thing and will offer your seat to fellow Rangers members for individual games. The modern day Blackburn Rovers are not interested in money/income or growing the brand, they're funded by billionaires, who put zero pressure on the executive team to move the club forward.
  6. I think social media has a lot to answer for Miller11. This description was once called loyalty to Blackburn Rovers and I have to say I wore this badge with pride many years ago, it wasn't frowned upon but encouraged, praised and fought for at times. These days, probably because of the owners, its seen as negative and embarrassing, which I understand. But posters/fans shouldn't be hounded for having loyalty as described above to Blackburn Rovers in my opinion, whatever has gone on in the past. How times change.
  7. Football is unique in many ways, you can spend 9 months of the year being treated like shit by the club, by sky and sometimes by the police at games and then you can't wait to pay hundreds of pounds to the same people to treat you like shit all over again, year after year! Whats not to like? Roll up roll up. 😃
  8. My main point has been lost...... If the club was interested in attracting more season ticket holders they'd slash the prices beyond £100, tell the fans we have a transfer budget and as you say market the hell out of Premiership here we come. Charge £199 across the board and you'd sell plenty more in my opinion. If the club really wanted to get radical they'd give them away for a season and then we'd really have a buzzing Ewood, after all the owners don't give a toss about money as the Diaz, Rothwell and Lenihan free player scheme shows. How that impacts FFP who knows, but would John Williams and Jack have allowed FFP to restrict us? I doubt it, they'd have got creative as many clubs have done. But I still maintain, that knocking off £100 from the current prices during the discounted period would not massively increase the take-up and before anyone says it, I could give a fig about PNE or Bolton. Sadly as Matty have said many times, we'll never know, because the current regime are happy to plod along with the status quo.
  9. Rovers never bottled it in either of the last 2 seasons, we got found out due to having a substandard side and squad compared to our rivals. Arsenal probably suffered the same fate in comparison to City, but more than held their own with the rest of the also rans.
  10. How many do we think? £38 for the season 88/89? Lost to Chelsea in playoffs season before?
  11. Look at those Blackburn Rovers fans, limited success for decades until that steel guy bought them and look what happened. Bandwagon jumpers? I bet they had a few, but they also had a loyal fan base, tremendous history and those fans and town deserved it.
  12. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon Matty, it seems like it’s already in full swing 👍 Opinions are like arseholes, we all have them.
  13. 700 extra season tickets? 😂 As Gooz mentions above, we’d need to sell thousands more during the discount period alone to hit this target, no chance! Venkys have seen to that.
  14. I answered it very directly: Venkys and 11yrs of them taking the piss out the fan base and Blackburn public is the reason we'll not sell 11k+ by knocking £100 off the price.
  15. They've got the best club side in the world, of course they deserve it, the fact they've been shit for decades and remained loyal just adds to the fact.
  16. We sold 8700 at the discounted price, but let’s not split hairs. But to answer your question directly: Venkys and 11yrs of taking the piss out the fan base and Blackburn public In general.
  17. I didn’t imply that, I said the increase would be minimal, 10k’ish in the current climate if you knocked £100 off in my opinion.
  18. I know loads of City fans, all been going for decades watching shite and always stayed with them as loyal fans do. I’m made up for those fans, they deserve it.
  19. I doesn’t matter what Bolton or PNE are doing, I’m concerned with Blackburn Rovers only and I know the support and how it works. With these owners and championship football, only giving them away for £150/£200 would see big increases, as Bradford City do, £100 off will sell very few more in my opinion. Be good to put this to the test though Matty, can’t see it happening though as nobody cares enough at Ewood right now.
  20. I disagree @47er We sold just over 9000 last season with half season tickets I think, knock £100 off and we’d possibly shift 10k. Our average gates are around 14k, with away support, the numbers don’t stack up. Success on the pitch brings punters through the gate and season ticket increases, we need promotion, not £100 discount.
  21. We should follow the Sheff Utd model, sign millions of pounds worth of players and don’t pay for them, or refuse to stick to the payment terms, easy really.
  22. Not sure why my post was deleted, but I’ll try again….. Last season was probably the best season we’ve had in a decade or more. Posters should keep in mind, this time last year we had no manager and 5 first team players had just left, including our captain! Ok we fell just short in the final reckoning, but we had a superb cup run and saw the emergence of several players that will see us challenge again this season coming. To call last season a failure is quite simply wrong and shortsighted claptrap. It was anything but failure and sets us up nicely for the coming season. More of the same please JDT.
  23. Yep. Success on the pitch brings fans through the gates, regardless of season tickets sold, simple as that. Im surprised the number sold is as high as it is after Greg told the Telegraph we have no funds available to buy players….
  24. Probably his best work in the past 20 years to be honest OjF, hope you enjoy it.
