  1. Steve Bruce really is a ****. "I would expect now that the personal terms will be thrashed out. That is not going to take long so I expect he will sign for Bolton. "I kept reading that Blackburn were going to make a counter bid. We had received nothing from them but they have been in contact in the last hour, but I think it is too late. "Dunny has already decided he is going down the route of signing for Bolton and in any case Blackburn still haven't met our valuation of the player.
  2. Brownie - did Neill have anything positive to say?
  3. Will Dunn ever have the stamina to be a central midfielder. We sometimes had to put him on the right or left wing because he would never track back and lacked the energy to play box to box. When he has been fit for Brum he was also put on the right wing because he had the same problems.
  4. It would just be horrible if he got back to form with Bolton. He can make goals out of nothing and those players usually cost a lot of money. Of course he has to be fit to do so.
  5. As people have said previously, if he had been playing for a "higher profile club" he would have got more recognition. It is a real pleasure watching him play and I would happily travel to watch his farewell game (whenever that may be, hopefully a few years off yet).
  6. Chelsea are actively looking for a right back, he could be an easy option for them. Doubt it though but would not really surprise me.
  7. Steve Bruce said it himself on Friday night, he is a quality act but he has just never been fit for a decent amount of time. That must be the reason....
  8. I think Newcastle will go for him, as they made an attempt last summer. Roeder was saying yesterday that they are actively looking for new defenders and Neill will fit into their budget.
  9. Man City linked with Dunn today in the Sunday papers.....
  10. Your right guys..... Was a bit dazed earlier on today!!
  11. Of course you are not going to say you have millions upon millions to spend but Hughes comments below suggest the purse strings are going to be as tight as ever. “We sold Craig Bellamy for £6m in the summer and didn’t spend that much but we still don’t have a lot to go at.”
  12. Sparky wanted him back in the summer but left it too late. I am sure any deal which will be done will be done a pay as you play basis. You can put a negative slant on it if you want but this really is a no lose situation for the club.
  13. I just think Hughes is being very clever in this. Good attacking midfielders are hard to find, especially English ones.
  14. Put a bet on at the start of the season for McCarthy for finsh in the top 4 Prem League goalscorers. Will rake in £500 if it comes off!!
  15. I just think the Dunn transfer is very clever for the following reasons: Getting him cheap & pay per pay - so unlikely to lose out financially No doubting his ability - any Birmingham fan will tell you he is the best midfielder in the Championship when he has played Can play anywhere in midfield Could attract some fans back for home matches Can create something out of nothing - useful when games are tight. Good option off the bench if no starting place for him Only negative is his injuries but that is something we are obviously aware of.
  16. Well said. Some people are really acting like babies on this. His celebration shows he cares.
  17. I think Hughes realised we had half our side out and we missing our key attacking players.
  18. Lucas Neill has given us some great years of service. He has played poor in a few games but what is booing him going to acheive. Overally, he has been playing well this season and he has moved all along our back 4. I think he has handled himself well in all of this. Some players would have spat their dummy out being refused a move to Liverpool. His reaction last night showed to me that he probably could not understand why he was booed. He wants a new challenge, so what? It is not as if he has just been here for a few months or a season. The minority should leave him alone, as ultimately it will not change anything or more importantly it will not help the team.
  19. Thanks a lot for that info!
  20. Coming from Clapham Junction but thinking of going from Paddington.
  21. Does anyone know the best train to get from London? Looks like departing from Paddington, from what I have seen so far....
  22. Thing is, they have all had 3 long-term, serious injuries. Surely they will not be upto Premiership speed, match fitness until end of Feb/March time.
  23. Damien Johnson can shut his mouth. He is an average player who plays for a Championship club, a club which is run by a bunch of idiots.
  24. Yeah USABlue, we have (as a club) improved from last season.
