Hughes today - frustration boiling over and making a personal point. His comments below are making a valid point and maybe a business comment. Players we want cost "a bit too much" Clubs like Blackburn will be left behind. This is just as much as backing as a big signing, we must do it. Crucial time or we kick Premierhsip and Sparky goodbye, Jack would know all about it and I am pretty sure his family will realise the club is onto a good thing. ps- I am pis*sed but this could be the defining moment for BRFC. -
I slept in for work (taken a sick day) this morning as well..... Just to cap off a truly awful game.
-
How much longer will Hughes accept Nonda & Mcarthey giving the ball away every single time!! Just wait till we face good opposition and then we will get wasted! We played one of the poorestr teams in the Premiership and we still lost! Key was we still lost those second balls and if we keep losing them we will find ourselves in the bottom half!!

We were lucky to make the match for the kick off. As other people have said, we though there were special trains so we were probably more casual going to the match with regards to leaving Amsterdam. When asking folk in the station they had no clue about these special trains.... Atmosphere was awesome at the match. As for Amsterdam, I was not very impressed. It seemed a bit of a dump and it attracts the scum of society.

JamieUK - I wish I could say the same. When I find out he is starting matches, it does not give me much confidence. He really makes me worry at centre-half, not as bad in centre midfield. Problem is that he does not seem to have a football brain. However, Hughes etc see him every day in training and they must see him as an important member of the squad - so that will do for me.

The reason why we have been perfoming better in Europe is because the team we have been putting out consists of flair players. Prior to this season our first choice eleven has always had a bit of pace, power, energy, grit and tougness in it - players such as Dickov, Bellamy, Reid, Nelsen, Todd and Nelsen. These players are all tough, powerful and all have energy. These ingredients have been missing from our team for many games this season. We have many flair players whose style of game are best suited for the European stage - Bentley, Tugay, Pedersen, Nonda, McCarthy, Oiijer and Zurab. All these players are technically good but when the going gets tough we maybe are lacking (as a team) on being powerful and energetic as we need to be in the Premiership. -
I thought Pedersen had one of his better games of late. We saw him take a few players on today and he got past his man a couple of times. Gray was good and it was maybe because he has got his match sharpness back.

Great, we play them away in a few weeks.... what's the bets that we will be on the receiving end of the new manager's upsurge for Charlton. -
I found Sir Alex's post-match interview quite interesting yesterday. Almost his in his first line was 'we cannot forget they were missing Reid and Nelsen'.
-
Nonda and McCarthy need to work harder for the team. Hughes comments were baffling - we can play much, much better than that. Can't wait until March, Reid and Nelsen will be back. Editted because of bad language.

I used to look forward to our matches, feeling that we could beat most teams. Not at the moment. Something is just not right with us at the moment - the power, energy, organisation and hunger are not there. Having to change our starting line up so often this season cannot be helping. BRFC 0 Man Utd 4
-
I don't look forward to our games at the moment. Our midfield just does not work and we are too easy to play against. Sad thing is that it is likely to continue for the next few weeks. We are lacking energy and power mainly down to the injuries we have.

If he is on form then we are. If he was at a more "high profile club" he would get more recognition.

Any news on the Savage injury??

The reason Gray came off was because he clearly was not (match) fit. -
The rest of our group games are on British Eurosport.

We are missing 6-7 of our regular starters and we simply cannot handle it. However, we had enough quality on the pitch today to play better than that. Never seen Hughes look so low and dejected after a match. West Ham did not look that good - they seems nervous and we should have tested them much more. -

If you look how many games you have coming up then going out of this competition cannot be too bad. Not just that but we have some really hard games in the next month or so. Tugay needs to be wrapped up and used wisely - he is key to us. -

Their revival will inevitably start against us. Everyone else has been beating them but the tide will turn on Sunday. West Ham 2 BRFC 0 Scorers: Tevez & Mascherano -

Whilst the Mirror have got some transfer rumours wrong before why would they say Savage is out for a month. We certainly would not comment on it until his injury settles down - probably will find out tomorrow at the pre-match press conference. If he is out for a month we are screwed. -
MAN OF THE MATCH: Andre Ooijer - The Dutch defender had a decidedly difficult introduction to English football. Now, with a greater understanding of the Premiership's demands, he excelled alongside Zurab Khizanishvili - another contender for the man of the match award - in the centre of the Blackburn defence. 'All the back four were excellent,' said Hughes, and it was hard to disagree. From http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story...england&cc=5739

On Sky, Phil Thompson said Ooijer was excellent along with Zurab. Click on link in this article to Hughes post match interview.......
