  1. Maybe. But equally, maybe not. It’s clear as day to me something changed overnight. All of the journalists - Crooke, Sharpe, O’Rourke (the sky guy, forgot his name) all said the same as I did, APART from two things 1) Rothwell was in Bournemouth 2) it was 100% done. Now my lesson has been learnt - I’ll never say something is “100%” again. And to be fair, I was told “Rothwell has been told to travel to Bournemouth”… for all I know he didn’t or only for so far. It’s clear that he didn’t get there because he was in for training this afternoon. So let’s dissect this: I was first to say there was more to the Rothwell injury than meets the eye. I was first to say Rovers thought the transfer was on. It sounds to me like Venkys put a stop to it, based on Glen M’s post. One things for sure, the Rothwell side - who where passing the info to me/Joe H/Crooke (we all said the same thing) - thought it was happening. But it didn’t happen, for whatever reason. As it happens, as soon as it became apparent it wasn’t happened I put my hands up and said well done to Glen on sticking by his sources saying the deal wasn’t happening. Like he replied, things move quickly in football. I’ve not bothered talking about this all Sunday night for some sort of ego trip, I just relayed the info I was being told because the source was reputable and I would have wanted to know if someone else was getting the info. Although perhaps I did get ahead of myself, which I can admit. So will I change my sources? No, I’ll just not post them. Not because I want some replies for my ego saying “no, please do post them!” but simply because people like yourself don’t want to read them and make it unbearable if I get them wrong. I was right about Markanday being a perm deal and right about us signing Ayala ahead of time, My advice is listen to unleaded and Glen and Kamy who are pretty much always right. But don’t take anything as gospel until a scarf is being held up - isn’t that the famous saying?
  2. It’s on the hedges behind the scenes video posted 5 mins ago. Filmed this afternoon.
  3. I absolutely agree. Unless anyone can evidence it, we’re not allowing it.
  4. Wait, what? We’re signing one of their players now?!
  5. To be fair mate, yesterday it looked like I was right and you where wrong, but here’s the ‘latest’ I’ve just been sent: Rovers played silly buggers. Same situation as Rhodes. Rothwell on his way down south, not quite in Bournemouth. Coming back now. So you where right… again! Fair play.
  6. I’ve no idea. Maybe it hasn’t. I imagine they had to throw all of their plans up in the air an hour ago and are now deciding what’s the best thing to do.
  7. I agree if they’re not getting 3.5M for Rothwell they’re not signing much. The road back for Rothwell is really tough now. Signing a contract is the easiest way to get back on track. But who knows what his summer plan is.
  8. Alan Myers saying Rothwell has been told he’s not going anywhere now! This is better than a BBC murder drama.
  9. Oh wow all of the journos now saying the same thing. 3.5M fee agreed with Rovers for Rothwell, but they’ve changed their mind overnight and agreed the same money for Moore! Can only guess they’ve got Cantwell and had a change of mind? Rothwell is IN BOURNEMOUTH! Is this the greatest tactical move Bournemouth could have done? They’ve derailed our promotion push and then not signed him?!
  10. Just seen they’ve agreed a 3.5M fee with Cardiff for Moore as well. Man I should have booked today off work, this is going to be some day.
  11. That would be quite something! They can’t sign Dembele, Cantwell and Rothwell surely…
  12. I’m breaking character now… They don’t care mate. Or at least, the vast majority don’t. It’s a business, Rothwell is playing the game and Mowbray knows it. Even if Bournemouth fell off the south coast and he had behaved like I’ve been posting, someone would take him. Because he’s a really good player.
  13. Not a problem. You’ve weakened your own team and don’t have any money to replace me.
  14. His incentive is the 6x weekly wage rise that is guaranteed for the next 4 years.
  15. What world do I live in? I’m astonished that any of you think Mowbray has any say in any of this. Rothwell could single handed become the biggest pain in the arse at the club. He has every single card in his favour. You cannot keep a player that insists he’s moving. Mowbray has to sell him and replace him tomorrow (today), it’s completely untenable.
  16. Ok, play me. I’ll break down in the first 60 seconds and come off injured. Or we can go to court. Whichever you’d like. Regardless I’m STILL going to tell all your players about how you’ve ruined my dream transfer that secures my families future. And even team talk, every training drill, every plan… like i said, I’m talking to my new manager every week.
  17. No matter what shows up on that scan, I’m telling you I am in pain when I play and refuse to play. As per PFA regs you cannot force me to play if I’m injured. I’m happy to sit in the room and have a debrief once a day, on full salary, whilst I recover from my injury. But whilst I’m on site I’m going to tell all your players about how you’ve stopped my career from progressing. And I’ll be speaking with Scott Parker daily.
  18. You can’t find me for breach of contract because I’ve got an issue with my hamstrings. I’m injured now and don’t want to play until I’m 100% fit because I’m moving to Bournemouth in the summer.
  19. OK let’s run this through. You’re Mowbray, I’m Rothwell. I’m assuming you’ve just told me that I’m not leaving…. Rothwell: I'm not leaving? I’m 27 years old, this is my last major contact and I’m being offered 6x my wage. If you don’t accept Bournemouth’s deal then I’m not turning up to training, this will be the last conversation we have and I’ll go there for free in the summer. And no, I’m not going to Chicago, I have two young kids.

  21. For clarity, is this intended to be comedy? A woman has been raped and beaten up here over a long period of time.
  22. Paying Poveda 11K a week whilst he’s injured is stinging us big time.
  23. Just accepted some Bournemouth fans as new members. Hopefully everyone plays out nicely and we can all chat as football fans. But if not, please use the report function…
  24. I think Mowbrays played this fantastically and I’m usually negative towards the management. This is the timeline IMO… January - Mowbray has offered terms to all 3 key out of contract players. None have signed, none are for sale. All are told if they get Rovers promoted they will be given a huge bonus and will be offered updated, better terms. Wednesday - rejects a bid for 2M from Bournemouth, speaks to Rothwell and tells him under no circumstances will he be leaving. Thursday - makes a statement to local media saying he isn’t leaving. Friday - Rothwell arrives at Brockhall and wants a meeting with Mowbray. He asks to be allowed to speak to other clubs. Mowbray tries to talk him around, but Rothwell’s advisors are pushing for a move knowing he could get multiple times his salary. Rothwell is 27, this is his last contract, he has a fiancé and two kids. Mowbray tells Rothwell to leave Brockhall, confirms he won’t be in the squad or travelling for Saturday and to have a think as to whether or not this is really what he wants. Rothwell’s agent rings Mowbray confirming that Rothwell would like to speak to other clubs this window. Saturday - Mowbray makes a statement after the game confirming the current situation. Rovers start to test the market for Rothwell. Sunday - Rovers receive updated offers from Bournemouth. Chicago Fire have bit on Saturdays availability call outs and offered £3.3M. Rovers tell Bournemouth and Rothwell they’re selling to Chicago Fire unless it’s matched. Bournemouth match the offer. Mowbray tells Rothwell to drive to Bournemouth because he doesn’t want him around training on Monday. Key to remember that Chicago can sign players until mid-Feb and Rothwell would need a work permit and international clearance before the deal could be confirmed. Ergo, he isn’t signing for them tomorrow, it would be Feb. Rothwell doesn’t want to play in the USA, but is worried the Bournemouth move won’t be agreed in times and he will be pushed to Chicago in Feb. So Rothwell and his agent push Bournemouth to get the move agreed ASAP. Bournemouth have increased their offer by 60% in 4 days.
