v Millwall (h) - Saturday 19th February
J*B replied to darrenrover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
That’s an after-timers reply. The reason matches aren’t started if the referee isn’t confident it will finish is because finishing a game where a team is leading is very hard to do. -

What would you be posting on here if Rovers where winning 3-0 after 17 minutes then the ref called the game off? How do you expect the Millwall players would have been reacting if the ball was being slowed down by a waterlogged pitch? The thing to do was delay kick off, not start and see how we go on. The Millwall fans where already here. But hindsight is a wonderful thing. With Brereton injured, Dack a couple of weeks away and Ayala out I found it interesting that Tony said in his interview that he asked the Referee “to prioritise the safety and well-being of the footballers”, that doesn’t sound like “play the game” to me, it sounds like someone being very clever in his wording to the referee knowing his two star players are out injured… -

Kaminski Lenihan JVH Wharton Nyambe Travis Rothwell Giles Dolan Buckley Hedges Please Tony, don’t make me sit through another game with Gallagher up front. -

There’s a chance we don’t score again all season here

I’ve played 5 a side tonight and I’m confident I’ve a better touch than Gallagher.

Attendances: A cause for concern
J*B replied to SIMON GARNERS 194's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Further evidence of the dumbing down project which has been ran by the club over the past 10 years. They’ve got a few thousand under 25s believing there’s no hope further than 15K attendances and a championship playoff chase. -
Bournemouth won. Game, set…

Some bloody results currently. Ps that Maja looks a player.

v Nottingham Forest (h) - 9/2/22

Absolutely agree. Although, as I keep saying and being shouted down for, 2nd always was an artificial league position. It was in Bournemouth and QPRs hands. We’re now fighting for 6, it doesn’t matter if you finish 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th. -

They’re better than us. They’re not going to finish top-6 but as it stands I can’t see us beating anyone in the top-6. -

I’m confused. If you’re quick and powerful - like he obviously is - ALL you have to do is beat your man and get the ball into the box, low and hard, between the 6 yard box and penalty spot. He doesn’t need to worry about ANY other end product. That’s it, every single time. Even if there’s nobody there. -

Absolutely devoid of any attacking creativity. Rothwell quiet, Brereton tired, Khadra pressing. That Buckley chance was key. We score that and we’re in control. Now we’re chasing. Season defining, I predict a terrifying death spiral. -

I’d take a 60% Dack over this Buckley. -

Garner showing the difference between a Premier League player and a Championship player in Buckley We are DESPERATE for Dacky to come back. Buckley cannot continue going missing in games and missing huge chances like he has in the past few games. I’d hook him at half time. -
Yes, I’ve watched the delivery that Zeefuik gives and his movement with the ball and think he’s more direct than Nyambe with better delivery.
-
I personally think he’s the more effective going forwards of the two.

No excuses now, the majority of the team are back: Kaminski Lenihan JVC Wharton Zeefuik Travis Rothwell Giles Khadra Buckley Brereton

Does Joe Rothwell look 100% committed for 17 cup finals to anyone else? I found Hedges interview interesting, paraphrasing but ‘my head was turned and I couldn’t give everything to Aberdeen’.
