  1. Sondre can certainly feel hard done to with an impressive average over four games compared to Carter!
  2. Where's @goozburger to do the count..!
  3. I'd argue this isn't the case at all. If the survey shows a willingness from fans to crowdfund safe standing, its showing the fantastic commitment from Rovers fans to try and improve this football club despite a CEO who's approach to everything is cheap. If the survey said "Would you be willing to contribute towards the infrastructure needed for safe standing? Do you think its an embarrassment that we're asking you - the hard working public of a town which is way above the national average for deprivation - to pay for this?" then I bet you'd get two Yes's.
  4. This is far more reasoned and considered than I had expected if I’m honest.
  5. Agreed - but also, it feels like JDT has let them know in advance it might happen.
  6. Say what you want about Gally - but he's the only one thats proven to be a Championship centre forward. He might not be the greatest, but he can be effective at this level.
  7. Just renewed my membership with the ease of Apple Pay, happy days.
  8. How much do you think it'll cost to do this? Considering it seems we nearly went bankrupt because the club couldn't get money in from India this year, I can't see the level of investment needed to get the Riverside into anything viable.
  9. Tell them if they try it I'll get the protest band back together!! The audacity to even suggest it... incredible, a new low.
  10. Just so I’m sure I’ve understood this correctly - is there a suggestion here that fans could crowd fund roughly £100 per seat to install safe standing at Ewood, despite our owners being billionaires (and investment in the stadium being exempt from FFP) and our CEO being on 300K / year?
  11. Steve’s in for one hell of a wake up call.
  12. Easy. When we play teams at their place, we play against teams under pressure to attack which suits our counter attack style of play. When we are the home side we are encouraged to dictate the game and attack and don’t have a striker to do so.
  13. Jesus Booth, I’d forgotten about that. Thanks for ruining my Saturday! Keith Chaplin-Mabbutt - scumbag!
  14. Why would it? It’s not our bus, it’s a coach hire we have a lease on. It’s not bespoke and we couldn’t make it so even if we wanted.
  15. In other news, the Whalley rumour is that Mrs JDT has opted not to take the lease on a Main Street home-wear shop after agreeing to take it on earlier in the year.
  16. A superb post, Tyrone. Sadly, the one previous had to be hidden by the moderation team because it contained comments on the subject like “in a secure unit”, “gone a bit doolally” and “taken away for treatment”. Some people really do need some education.
  17. The problem is the same as it has been for 10 years. Forget the CEO, the DOF or the Head Coach. This club will never achieve like it is capable under Venkys rule. The longer they’re here, the longer the road back will be.
  18. Just off Dolan, who’s playing as a striker?
  19. I’d play Siggy. Leo Brittain Hill Wharton Pickering Wharton Tronstad Dolan Szmodics Siggy Ennis That would be my team.
  20. I’m confused — are you suggesting we don’t have a player on one of the two wings? As it stands we play 4-2-3-1. If we play 4-3-3 we either have to play Sammie out of position as striker or false 9, or play him on a wing?
  21. A Gold, Green and Bronze system is making my eye twitch, @Herbie6590
  22. I'm going to need you all to be extremely careful about what you post on this subject. As a reminder by creating an account you have taken all liability for your posts and given me permission to share data we have about you with relevant authorities if asked.
  23. Relevant to this thread too
  24. Here’s the reality. If JDT saw his long term future here, he should sure up the defence and adapt the style of play to ensure we navigate ourselves to a 9th (or similar) place finish. He doesn’t have the squad to begin to challenge the top six over a full season, but equally we’re far too good to go down. But the manager doesn’t see his future here, because the promises he was given when he joined “the project” have been broken by Waggott, Pasha and Venkys. His budget has been cut and he’s being asked to adapt his expectations, which he is unwilling to do. So he’s now protecting his reputation. He’s sticking to an appealing playing style and is happy to lose games as long as the media talks about “great style of football”, “fantastic attacking movement” and the like. Why? Because when clubs with budget and ambition sack their managers, he’s going to be right at the top of most shortlists for the top of the Championship, bottom of the Premier League and across European leagues. Because they’ll see he created positive, entertaining football with a terrible squad. And Rovers can’t do anything about it. Waggott can’t sack him for results, because everyone knows who is to blame - Waggott, Venkys and Pasha. JDT has the management over a barrel because he’s made it absolutely clear across the media that he wasn’t given what he was promised and isn’t happy. What happens next? The season carries on exactly as is. We’ll beat teams like Cardiff 5-3 and get smashed by the better teams in the league. They won’t back him in January, not only because of their own geo political issues but also because it’s clear he’s no long term future here. The tension will build until JDT decides his time here is done.
