Venky’s v Indian Government (a)
J*B replied to tomphil's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Thanks for this Duncan, really interesting read. I think the Trust would benefit from more transparency which could be hard to do. One way, which would be relatively simple, would be to have a members section of the Trust website. Within that section you could: Upload all minutes of meetings Live stream the AGM Have transparent members polling - so members can see what the majority of the membership think. I also think you could perhaps do with improving comms on here, especially as clearly there’s different opinions at board level of The Trust (which is great, by the way). Can I suggest that official comms come through @Rovers Trust and non official comms through personal accounts? We could also add something to highlight the Trusts board members on here so that people can differentiate members, much like we do with the moderation team. If someone could look into my membership that would be great - I’ve been through my emails this morning and have received no comms at all since rejoining just before the AGM at Billington Brass Band Club. -

I agree, in no way a smoking gun. But it does point to the below, unless someone can explain to me otherwise: 1) If Venkys get found guilty we will go into administration quickly - the club is insolvent without them. 2) If the appeals for running costs aren’t granted, the club will go into administration quickly 3) The case with the Indian government will continue for an unnamed amount of time and during that time we will not be able to strengthen the squad as finance is restricted. 4) Every window whereby we cannot strengthen the squad it will get weaker and we will go closer to League One. If the club goes into admin, the club will get a points deduction then administrators will take over and try to sell the club for a reasonable offer to service the clubs debts. The owners wouldn’t have input into the sale and an offer wouldn’t be able to come from Venkys if they’re either under investigation or found guilty. Based on that, it’s my belief that we would get better ownership via administration and it’s in the clubs benefit for Venkys to either be found guilty or the judge to not grant payments into the club. -

With all due respect, by design, surely the latter isn’t possible? It’s one person, one vote - which is right, by the way - but how can anyone vote if one person knows more than the other? -

Mike is there an issue with the external comms from The Trust? I'm a member and don't receive any updates over e-mail. Not a monthly report, quarterly update, yearly round up... nothing. Either i'm a one off or I suspect there's other members like myself who are contributing to The Trust and expect to see full breakdowns of all comms and meetings with the club, the website says "By becoming a member, you can shape the ongoing direction of the Trust. All our members have an equal say in the running and direction of our club – one member, one vote. As well elections we are obligated to run, we aim to regularly canvas member opinions." As it stands I: 1) Haven't been asked for my equal say on the running and direction of the club 2) Haven't been asked to vote on anything 3) Haven't been asked for my opinion on anything It makes me very uneasy as a member when I see things like "nightmare for those at Ewood trying to balance the books" i.e. Waggott and "credit should be given to the owners for this". It feels like the club are under pressure and suddenly - out of nowhere - information appears which could be argued paints them all in a good light. For context, the reason BRFCS sends @K-Hod to the Fans Forum meetings is i'm aware that I wouldn't be suitable for the type of meeting. K-Hod canvases comments from the forum and relays them to the club in a professional manner. This is in the T&Cs of all new BRFCS members. -

Now I've slept on this, there's two things playing on my mind: 1) If we can get that judge to find them guilty, or stop payments to the club, we will go into admin very quickly and will be rid of Venkys. 2) I find it very interesting this article was suddenly found and posted on Twitter after X months the second pressure was on the CEO of the club. -

I’m not too sure myself - but what it does categorically prove is if the judge finds them guilty of tax evasion the club has days left before administration. Bring it on. -

If there was ever a time to protest it is now. The pressure is building and one final push may see them fall. There’s a sunrise on the horizon. -

We want him. He has a 500K release clause. We made a bid that totalled 500K put payments where spread over X period of time to help our cash flow. Crewe say for the release clause to be activated it’s 500K upfront. Stalemate. -

The official team news said he was ill, but as we all know he has a private matter which means he can’t leave his family and go on international duty. I hope it is as stated the former. -

You don’t think Leo is used to playing the Championship level, so you think we should send him out on loan to pick up more experience *checks notes* exactly where we got him from? -

As a member of The Trust I’d like Steve Waggott to urgently, on the record, clarify: 1) The current situation RE the owners legal issues with the Indian Government 2) When is the latest the owners reasonably expect the issue to be resolved 3) Confirmation as to whether or not the budget reduction from the owners will be reallocated to the club once the issue is resolved 4) Whether or not given the restrictions he believes the owners would entertain discussions about the sale of the club -

I do. Hes a much better centre back than Hyam and Wharton and is much more experienced than Carter. -

I offer assurances to anyone considering a protest against the ownership of Blackburn Rovers that you’ll have my full support in any way I can help. It’s time. -

I can’t believe you lot think changing manager is the solution here. The problems are so much bigger than that. There is ZERO point in having people like JDT, Sigurdsson, Moran, Wharton if the restrictions from the owners are as they are at the moment. -

The starting point for the WBA defence is pretty much 10 yards into their own half. Say what you want about Gallagher and Ennis but when we have Leonard on the pitch teams have absolutely zero respect for him. That high line is pushing us so far back into our own half that we’re under constant pressure. -

You’re becoming very repetitive, what don’t you understand? The entire website is telling you Moran is doing “OK”, nothing more and nothing less. I see you’re in Dublin, so I’m assuming there is a vested interest? -

Yet every time I say Venkys Out, I get told “but nobody else will buy us!!”. Hull City Tigers. An absolute nothing football club. -
I wouldn't like to answer on his behalf but i'd put my mortgage on this being the same person 🤣

My understanding is Waggott's salary - despite seeming alot - is very low in comparison to others in the league. -
