  1. Rovers awaiting confirmation about loan deal from PL club. Don't know who the player is. This from Lancs Live report Jaquob Crooke
  2. Rothwell had a hamstring injury. Happened after a tackle in own box. 44 minute of game
  3. Great goal by Armstrong. Good header by Lenihan. Thought Travis, Nyambe and Bell were good. Good to see Rankin Costello come on. 4 points of playoffs..17 games to go. Not pleased with the change of formation to 2 up front cost we just were awful. Didn't cost us tho. Get in a couple of signings and we can make playoffs
  4. We need 2 keepers, right back, 2 centre back and 2 left back. Thats 7 players there. Plus a striker and Winger
  5. So you are agreeing with me then.
  6. Well thats your opinion Why? We signed 2 now in this window which we could and didnt we sign 7 players this past summer(Gallagher, Downing, Holtby, Walton, Cunningham, Adarabioyo, Johnson)? Plus I think Downing will re-sign this season for another season.
  7. Rankin Costello is a winger. Forget playing at right back. We need 2 keepers. Maybe Hilton.could be 1. We need a back up right. 2 new centre backs with Tosin loan end and Mulgrew will probably go. 2 left back need. Maybe Thompson could set up I dont know but still need a 1st choice. So thats 5 needed already. Maybe 7 if Hilton and Thompson cant Then a winger and Striker. We could sign maybe 1 or 2 signings this window leaving us 5 to 7 signings need in summer
  8. Experience Keeper. Number 2 keeper(possibly Hilton from under 23's), right back, 2 centre back, 2 left back, 1 winger and 1 striker. So 9 signings in the summer. Maybe less if we got 1 or 2 of those signings this window
  9. Its my opinion. Never said I'm right tho have I?
  10. Not my type. ? Me and him have these discussions about Gallagher, how to use him and his strengths last summer before my ban was up..its just seems like I'm having the same discussions again with him. It just gets boring repeating myself to him
  11. How do you know Mowbray didnt? I've told you before on here and other social media sites. Me and Pete both told you the type of striker he is.
  12. Back to the same old lines about being Patronising cos no one is being so apart from yourself. I have told you plenty on here and other social media sites but you just don't listened so I aint bothering anyone. Utter pointless debating with you when you are acting like this.
  13. Comparing Shearer to Gallagher is just daft. Shearer is one off striker. Best Striker in the PL history and I don't think I've ever seen a better striker in my lifetime Why would Mowbray lie about making cash bids for players? Well you cant make comments like why didn't Samuel and Smallwood leave at the start of the month without knowing if they was any offers for them. Like I keep telling you not every striker is natural goalscorer and you can see the type of striker he is with the goals he scores. Do what you want pal, I not bothered
  14. Statistics tell you one side of a story but actually watching a player tell you more. Not every striker is a 20 a goal striker either. Gallagher isn't a focal point type of striker. We are trying to move on from playing that way and playing differently and using Armstrong pace and movement so allow Holtby and Rothwell more space to creative hopefully this an appointment for a number of years Not every striker has to be natural goalscorer. Look at Barnes at Burnley or Vokes at Stoke or Matt Smith at Millwall. All example of players who aren't natural goalscorer but are good strikers at this level. Look at the goals he has scored in his 2 spells here and that's type of striker he is. 2 good headers at Preston results in 2 goals even tho 1 was a own goal, His header goal at Sheff Utd in the cup and the Goal at Sheff Wed which he put it away very well running onto the ball.
  15. Well without knowing the facts I don't know how anyone can judge Very harsh circitism of Armstrong playing wide when he is a striker but he had to play it cos of Graham and Dack partnership. Never moaned once. Maybe Rankin Costello would have got a chance earlier if he wasn't injured. Mowbray has said the team we want the player from valuation is too high and asking daft sort of money. Did we have any offers for Smallwood or Samuel at the start of the month? Its very easy looking at the situation from the outside without knowing the full truth about it. I agree with your points on Gallagher. Gallagher needs patience and he will come good. Took his goals very well against Preston, Sheff Utd and Sheff Wed. He can finish when given the chances tbf pal, You do bash Gallagher at every opportunity you get. Gallagher is a different type of striker to Rhodes or Graham. I rather have a striker who put in shift every week and gives 100% and willing to work at his game and played out of position for the team if needs must. Rhodes aint coming back. We don't pay 35k a week anymore to players.
  16. Depends what we valued the players at always. Think some clubs put these valuation on players. I think Peterborough want 9 or 10 million pounds for Ivan Toney who hasn't done any higher than league 1. I think playing with physical presence doesn't help at times as Opposition can push higher up. Armstrong playing gives us what we lacked up front for a while Pace and movement. I don't us selling any of key players in this window. I see Samuel, Smallwood and possible Mulgrew
  17. blimey, Keep going back to the Brereton fee argument. I did admit the other week that I got it wrong. Its a shame that sadly some people are very petty and use this as a stick to beat certain posters with. Linked Grabban to Rovers? don't think so. His wages are too high for us. Maybe check things before you posted it. I rather we spend the money on keeper and defence departments which we need to this summer. Need at least 2 keepers and 4 to 5 defenders in this summer
  18. So if we haven't got any money why have we put cash bids in for players then? Armstrong ripped Sheff Wed apart and his pace and movement in 9 role will create the space for Holtby and Rothwell to be more creativity. Since Dack injury he has set up to the mark and performed very good big departure? You always say this and nothing will come true of it. why weaker a squad when we are close to the playoffs picture? Potential clubs waiting to get players off their books before they can buy or loan players. Players waiting until close to the end of the window before wanting to move
  19. only took them 4 months for find one. Know since October they want one. Don't know much about the player tbh Like I said its the way Mowbray is currently playing the system. If we sign a right side wide player this week it might change We advertised the position in August for an European Scout. Have we been waiting for working for him to work his notice? waiting for Venkys to green light the contract? I wouldn't be paying 4 mil for him.
  20. Rovers close to appointing a head of European scouting. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/18189615.rovers-close-appointment-boss-talks-overseas-targets/
  21. Most clubs are in the same boat at this level. Leeds, Forest and Sheff Wed all want a striker and havent got 1
  22. His development over the 2 years he wasnt here did stop his all round game developing. If Gallagher wants to be playing regularly then he has to go wide. No forward role available. Armstrong is our number 9 and hes suits the role. Wasnt suited much to wide role but just got on with his role and tried his best. Yes Gallagher isnt a winger but we dont with natural wide man anyway. Mowbray likes Wide forwards or a wide player cutting in like Rothwell
  23. He hasnt said we cant afford the fees there. Look at his quotes
  24. I would say Dack, Travis and Armstrong have all got better under Mowbray. Yes Mowbray is playing Gallagher on the right but hes a role for the team and wants to get better in that role. I agree. Rhodes's career has gone nowhere since leaving here.
