Totally agree. I don’t watch premiership games other than on match of the day as they are generally boring. I like to be excited, the top games are more like a game of chess. -

I thought with Baker’s shooting ability he would have been played as a number ten.. -

The ref was a real “Homer” and gave you a free kick every time one of your players went down, which they did regularly to con the ref. Foster in particular was an embarrassment, a proper cheating bas***d. Your players were rolling over and over trying to get our players booked ( Travis also tried the same one time) and succeeded. Dolan “goal” was definitely not offside and whilst I take your point about your player being impeded, it was a clash rather than being deliberate and if you knew Hedges you would realise that. That being said if exactly the same had happened at the other end ie by you, it would dry have been given. However, in retrospect it was a good game to watch.

Godo from Fulham just looks like another Dolan. He always seems to check back when he receives the ball rather than tearing down the wing. I didn’t see any evidence of him being particularly quick, which was the main attribute we wanted from a winger. I hope that I am proved wrong, but I’m disappointed in what I have seen on YouTube.

I’m pretty sure that he said that JE had told him he would like him back again this season, so I’m expecting a late loan move for him. I’m not sure whether it would be a good signing or not. He had a really good game once but “one swallow does not make a summer”. Hopefully there are better options out there.

If Szmodics stays (big if) Mak and him could be a great combination. Szmodics could even score more than last year. As someone has already said, he does look like Samba when he was called upon to play upfront. He will certainly give defenders something to worry about, which will give other players more space and time on the ball to do some damage.

The problem we have with Ipswich has been brought on by ourselves. Everyone knows our situation i.e. venkies court case etc. and football is a cut throat sport. They suspect we need the money and that at the last minute we will sell for what they want to pay. They don’t care what the consequences of their negotiating tactics are. If Venkies send over a sum of £5m or more, Ipswich will then see that we don’t need to sell. We don’t have to sell because of his contract situation, so we are potentially putting the club at risk of relegation just to keep Szmodics happy. If we could only get a decent keeper and keep him I would sacrifice the other positions. Besides loans would be able to fill the gaps.

We have a ridiculously thin squad with no depth and are supposedly relying on our young academy players, but we are then loaning out the better young players and making the squad even thinner!! I am not against the players going out on loan to make them better, it worked for Scott Wharton and Carter, but they need to be replaced with good buys or loans. We have a half decent first 11 but after that we are very weak. Injuries are inevitable and we will be in real trouble when that happens, like we were last season. When will SW realise that running a club on a shoe string will only lead to one outcome, one which we only just avoided by the skin of our teeth last season. We are being run by self serving morons who don’t care about the club as long as they are being paid and padding out their pension pots.

It can’t be a coincidence that when Kaminski was in goal, Hyam was very good and when Pears was our #1 and after a number of howlers e.g. Ipswich away, Hyam was average. If a player doesn’t trust their GK then it limits their options when in possession and puts pressure on them, which occasionally will lead to mistakes being made. Confidence then goes and performances suffer and silly goals are conceded.

He was brilliant in his first year and rightly won player of the year. I think that as we were desperately short of defenders last year he was forced back from a bad injury before he was ready, consequently he was playing whilst not fully fit and knackered after a long hard season. He was therefore slow and not as sharp as before. He is a good player and we shouldn’t be wanting to get rid just because of a poor ( but understandable) last half of last season.

We’ve been crying out for a Rudy type player for years now imho. Luton had one and they promoted. We all hoped that finally playing Gallagher as a CF would do it, but he’s just to soft and timid. If Ohashi can be his foil ala Rhodes then we really will be looking up rather than down. As you said a Conway type winger is going to be essential though to provide the ammunition. A good start though, here’s hoping. 🤞
