  1. A different and refreshing perspective. "Eze's impact earned him the man-of-the-match award, but he will surely have faced strong competition from the brilliant Wharton, who strode through midfield in style, a potent mixture of composure, creation and that priceless ability to win possession then use it well. Former England captain Wayne Rooney is a firm admirer, telling BBC Sport: "Attacking players get a lot of the credit, but Adam Wharton was outstanding. His commitment and winning the ball back - I thought he was the best player on the pitch." This follows rich praise delivered by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who described him as "an excellent holding midfielder".
  2. One set of games to go and Shakespeare couldn't have conjured a more complex plot. It is quite mind blowing the range of emotions over the last few months. Depths of despair, to Rooneyesque disbelief, to blind hope. I will take blind hope. The turning point was second half against Wednesday and talking about them, my mate was handed this at Hillsborough today. At least we have some form of football structure.
  3. The two championship clubs promoted are American owned. The two likely clubs promoted from Division 1 are American owned. Ipswich who went from Division 1 to the premiership and back down are American owned. The new style of American ownership is not the dinosaur Glazer/Boehly style of financial manipulation. It is a more passionate long term approach which is demanding but exciting. We need a slice of that. Our heritage is very marketable in the right hands.
  4. Bottom line. We need a new CEO to court potential American owners.
  5. Same for Sheffield United and West Brom. Never good to rely on relegation threatened teams. They tend to wake up at this time of rhe season.
  6. Played himself perfectly into Eustace's rebuild.
  7. Played himself perfectly into Eustace's rebuild.
  8. "However, reacting to that news on the radio station, former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan insisted Rooney should steer clear of a return to management. "They’ll get what they deserve," Jordan said in a message to Blackburn." Not sure whether uber Pundit, Simon of perfect hair means he's going to pay the other 20 million that he should've paid us for Adam Wharton when he bamboozled our crack negotiating team. Orwhether he is a genuine fan of Rovers, and telling Rooney to stay clear will only help us claw our way back into the playoffs. Rather than "piss our chances up against the wall" so to speak, and enter the relegation zone under his tutelage
  9. 4 Points in two games. Avoided a banana skin with a sent off player. Playoff form. Oops too late
  10. It is the epic battle of the owners. Shitty and shittier.
  11. Hope they down tools before we meet. We are not alone. Sheffield Wednesday can confirm a temporary issue with the payment of player salaries for the month of March. This has occurred as a result of significant sums of money owed to the chairman's businesses which has in turn impacted on the club's immediate cashflow. The chairman is working hard to resolve this situation at the earliest possible opportunity and in the meantime thanks everyone for their patience and understanding.
  12. The only thing that would give me any enthusiasm for the rest of the season is if we bin some of rhe panic loan journeymen and try out some of the promising academy talent. Including the lad wanted by Arsenal. I dont give a shit if we lose with them playing. We have lost against all the relegation fodder so what have we got to lose. Half of the players in the team will be gone and forgotten at the end of the season.
  13. If I was collecting first day cover stamps of relegation teams Rovers have lost to, I would be bankrupt.
  14. This is sooooo transfer Groundhog Day. 🐷 Same exits and entries on loan and probably a few more French speaking prospects. Except the budget will be less as no stars have been pawned. Another year of being the tax write off division of the Venkys empire.
  15. Relegation place after 15 games, position untenable to fans or Venkys. Probably pot Gestede as well.
  16. "The players need time to adjust to a new coach's methods." Cruise control definitely hit for the rest of the season. Then he can rebuild the team until he is potted after 15 games next season. "Will it go around in circles 🎼🎶"
  17. Not so much. Hyam contract extension triggered.
  18. Seems a lot of money to pay a manager to avoid us getting to the play offs. As he has pulled up the play off anchor and is sailing towards the "promised land" of money for new signings next season , we all know which rock that voyage founders on.
  19. Bit early to be playing to get the manager sacked.🤔 You would have thought with half of them in the shop window they would play like they were " shiny bargains" rather than " faded threads from better days"
  20. Took the words out of my mouth. That being said, Walton is well thought of at Ipswich. 🤷
  21. Great build up and goal. Big Mak gives it a smack.
  22. This is potentially one big 🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌 Derby have lost their last three games, bottom of the table, and Eustace asking the boys to use their togetherness to do him a really big favor. And they need to avoid the drop with a moral boosting win. Own goal from Dolan? 🤔
