  1. I wouldn't doubt that for a minute. I just found it a little strange that a 60 year old Lemmy would go in a mosh pit! Maybe he did!
  2. I find that very difficult to believe by the way, but there you go! I'm going to miss Motorhead massively. Lemmy was a one off. An intelligent punk hippy hooligan - a down right good bloke who played fantastic rock n roll. Cause it was. Just heavier. Most of all I'm going to miss the shear volume and majesty of the gigs. Nothing has ever come close. There's a massive hole there now unfortunately. Although I do of course appreciate other music I should add, but alongside the Charlatans and New Order they were the band that has sound tracked my life the longest - or in Motorhead's case - the longest.
  3. Damn. RIP Lem.
  4. Yep. Saturday: Midnight Sunday: 22:15
  5. Going on the Sunday. Love the new album by the way. Mate of mine went to Liverpool, said it was a really varied set. I've seen the set list. It's new order! Then A couple of JD songs and potentially blue Monday at the end. They were playing Lonesome Tonight the other week!
  6. Well... According to t'web they've played KGH 7 times. I've guessed some of the albums. 1976 and 77 - these were very early gigs, Motorhead the album no doubt then or songs that would be up on it (came out in 77) 1978 and 1979 - Bomber and Overkill came out in 79 1980 - this was the Ace Up Your Sleeve Tour - your right ODB. 1984 - No Remorse Tour. Support was from Persian Risk. I've still got a 6 foot tour poster somewhere. The loudest show I've ever been to. Possibly cause I've been slightly deaf ever since. First time I saw them. 2010 - Almost certainly the last time they'll play Blackburn. The World is Yours tour. Support was from Michael Monroe. So they didn't play KGH in 82 apparently. That would have been the Iron Fist Tour by the way. Right someone help me get this anorak off.
  7. Now he could play a bit. A real character too, daft as a brush. Check out Overkill from No Sleep Til Hammersmith. Nothing ever sounds the same again. RIP Philthy Animal Taylor.
  8. Well, Hooky was excellent! I take the points on board raised earlier but I saw them play Murder and Lonesome Tonight amongst many many others. It is what it is. By the way, his lad can play a bit. Time they played KGH.
  9. Remember it well. It was the new "Question Mark" formation. Unfortunately I too believe he had lost the plot by that time, but my word, we had some goods days and a hell of a team with him stearing it in the right direction for a while. Amongst many highlights 4-0 away at Spurs will live long in the memory.
  10. It be rude not to Gav. You guys should as well. ?
  11. Hooky and The Light. Friday 25 Sept. Hull City Hall. Lowlife and Brotherhood. Plus a JD set as an opener. Hull City v Blackburn Rovers. Saturday 26 Sept. Boothferry Park. Or similar. Well, what can you do?
  12. AC/DC last night at The Arch Stadium, that London. Absolutely different class. Well recommended. That boy Angus can't half play a bit, he'll go far that lad.
  13. I find it quite uncomfortable to watch mate. One thing that does resonate is that he's the real deal. His entire life has been devoted to rock n roll. Oh, and collecting german war memorabilia, Jack Daniels and chasing women. But Rock is his thing. Massive Beatles fan by the way. As for Florence, well we're trying, but nope, just don't get it. I see the Charlatans played early doors, not one song to date has been on from what I've seen. As for the Libertines, I kinda get it but I really struggle with the fact that they're a couple of smack heads (or were). Like all the bands I like don't do drugs(!) but H seems a big part of their image. That's why Lemmy is still alive (just) and so many of his era aren't. Hope all's good for you guys by the way down there (I make it sound like Australia!). See you at the Rovers.
  14. Sorry mate, I was meaning the website as a whole, wasn't trying to direct anything at you. I had me head in my hands, thought they'd done brilliant until then. Anyway they all sound the same anyway so it doesn't really matter!
  15. No, they definitely haven't. Hawkwind might have done? Who knows.Enjoy them while you can, like the Napier, like Blackburn Rovers. People will moan like hell when they're gone.
  16. Well I wouldn't go that far! Just watched them on line. Splendid stuff. Of course Ace of Spades went down the best. Lemmy cocked up Overkill though and started singing the AoS again. Quite unfortunate. Old age is a right pig ain't it. Still I'm confident 99% of the population would like to be capable of making such a glorious racket when they turn 70. Nice to see Florence grooving along from the touchline! And the boy Ulrich.
  17. Looked a lot stronger recently judging by the Youtube footage. Last couple of years it looked like he was about to check out. They're doing quite an extensive US tour as well so that bodes well. Hopefully UK dates in December. So, it's 8.30 BBC4. One for all the family. Remember to turn it up for best results. Here's a new one to get you in the mood. Probably for Masterchef on BBC1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hNQxMqZLbM
  18. 20 years since Definitely Maybe. Blimey. Great days in town and at the Rovers.
  19. Aye!! Aftershock is really quite marvellous. Ironic really, quite life affirming. Life's a bitch ain't it? Born to lose, live to win.
  20. Motorhead have pulled their tour again (first November and now February). Lemmy clearly isn't a well guy. This is a band I've followed since 1980! Saw them for the first time at KGH in 1984 and nigh on every tour ever since. Could be the end of an era. Not everyone's cup of tea obviously but like the Rovers they've been a constant for most of my years. Gutted!
  21. Wanderers and Rovers - victims of our own success in the *use Frank Sidebottom voice* "fantastic* Premier League where everyone's a winner. Unless of course your quite Northern, have small crowds (in comparison) to other Big City clubs, and are stitched up by a bunch of scotch bullshiters with Sky and the FA's Agents behind them. FFP - that'll lock em out. Give that man a CBE. Then again we won the League. Which was nice. Then again, that was an age ago. Maybe theno was right. Where's the new ground going to be by the way? Victory Park? Nah. It just wouldn't work. Too much pride. We'll just have to watch it all implode instead and watch the magic of the Premier League bore us shtiless every season instead. Ooh Arsenal this year? Or is it City? Maybe Man U? I'll just check my giveashitometer again, see how Southampton and Villa feel. They'll never win feck all either. But the money the players get... Just to keep up with the Phil Jones'.
  22. Good grief. Terrible news RIP Paul.
  23. Well, I hold my hands up, I'm no expert, over the last few years I've really got into my cricket. Very enjoyable stuff. I read this thread and bow down to a lot of posters who clearly know more than me. But what are they doing? KP, again, why? I'm watching it on Sky but I can hear Boycott going mad now on TMS. The idea is to bat all day and then some surely? Yet I hear he's a belter, one of the very best. Time after time after time he lets England down. As for Root, it'll take time, but at the moment - not good enough. There's a complete lack of confidence. I really can't see a win in this series at the moment. This could be done today. Carberry doing well mind you. 50 up. Good man. And then Bell knocks a 6. If Bell gets in and Carberry pushes on...
