  1. I wouldn’t bother, he was making the same bet a couple of weeks ago on here but offering £4m to the winners charity of choice. It’ll be ten bob and 10 bensons this time next week.
  2. Blimey Mercer, that's one hell of a donation. Fair play to you fella. I don't want to jump the gun but the Robert Fleming Foundation (established 11 May 2018) is an extremely worthwhile cause.
  3. Agreed. They spent a lot for Div 1. A drop in the ocean compared to the Championship. It might be a year of consolidation. Would you go all out first year back? I’m not sure I would. Too much change (players wise) too soon is never good. But either way, we need more quality. Then again TM might get ten bob and a chicken leg and told to sling his hook. Time will tell.
  4. As mentioned before, they could also be acting on the (bleeding obvious) advise that those two accountancy firms may have given last summer. I.e.”if you want your money back, or have any chance of getting your money back, then you need to get BRFC back into the Premier League and keep them there for a few years. That’ll need further investment.” Who knows what happens next. As ever, I don’t trust “them”. Hopefully things have changed though. They did back Mowbray last summer after all plus serviced the debt. Time will tell. The rest is just speculation and guess work based on whether your a pessimist or an optimist. Or “based on the last 8 years, 7 of which have been dreadful, a realist” if you like. But the last year was good.
  5. Remember guys, in this weather, drink plenty of water, retire to the shade occasionally. Wear a hat perhaps. Sun stroke can be a right bitch.
  6. Yep. You going to arrange it and turn up for once or just critique from afar? Any meaningful positive contribution from you would be a welcome surprise.
  7. “Elliott Bennett, he plays where he wants” But no, he has no song. Graham for me. He’s been immense. Different class. Dack would be nowhere without him. A proper centre forward and imo a top bloke. Yes, he gets paid well, but by Christ, he gives a damn.
  8. I absolutely love that. Tremendous tackle there by Glenn at the end! In fact I wrote about that game here: 14 years ago! I had it on video. Think I've still got the video somewhere. No video player mind you.
  9. No. No ones tried walking through the 8 foot glass window at the front to get in yet anyway.
  10. Hey, fair play to him. On his neck as well. Of course you can have those removed these days though. Poor effort on his part I thought.
  11. Just sat in Blues with Tim Farron after he bought a ticket for today’s game. He’s just bought everyone a pint, set fire to a Venkys picture and got 50 out of 50 on the hardest Rovers quiz I’ve ever heard. I’ve told him to take his Rovers shirt and scarf off and to get out. I’ve seen him off with my pitchfork. Fecking imposter. He won’t fool me.
  12. Be honest, you're being a bit of a silly billy here aren't you?
  13. Oh dear. Despite what several others have already said in this thread, that he's been seen at Ewood, are you really suggesting he revised on Rovers just for Mastermind?!? Following a quick Google. Here's a link to him commenting on Rovers in 2015, no doubt as part of his preparation for Wednesday nights TV appearance. With apologies to the link to the Scum publication. https://www.thesun.co.uk/archives/championship/140389/farron-fury-at-rovers-owners-venkys/ I'm looking forward to hearing May and Corbyn recounting tales of chasing burnley up Bolton Road in the coming weeks for political gain as well.
  14. Malcolm Young passed away today. He was the rhythm guitarist in AC/DC. He was quite simply brilliant. Very underrated - leaving the limelight to his brother. RIP fella. One of the good guys. Powerage will be played tonight. ?
  15. What odds do you think you'll have got? No manager of that club has had any success in recent years. And that's no disrespect to Oldham whatsoever.
  16. It's bloody rubbish if you ask me. Change for changes sake. New people have come in and got rid of the old, slightly different, format and got shut. No consultation, nothing. What have we now? A flasher, brasher, er, slasher of a new format that will no doubt talk a good game but give it a few weeks and it'll start to grate. Believe me. It probably has a Scottish accent as well. And is bald. More questions than answers. Yet again. Another kick in the teeth - and balls - with a pointed stick. The all seater stadium, prawn sandwich eating, tedious stat spewing Messageboard format of the 22nd century - or whatever year this is today. It's probably got a sponsor on its back and a hidden loyalty scheme that I forgot all about shortly after typing "loyalty scheme" just then. I'll probably not even be able to log on anymore if my sons not with me. Pathetic. Who's the new formats Agent that what's I want to know? Actually, on reflection, it looks good really. Cheers.
  17. Come on BDS, have a guess. and to be clear, I believe Skip.
  18. The Khyber Café, Wainwright Bridge, The M65 Services, a Hole In The Wall cash machine, that metal sculpture with that daft kid he keeps dropping his glove, that metal Bee thing, that one at Junction 4 with that sculpture of the bloke with his arse hanging out, the new fence round the Golden Cup, and one will undoubtedly be the beer garden of Clitheroe Kates. I can't see this being a problem.
  19. Only if he takes some books to stand on! Alright Gav mate?!
  20. To be very clear, I've never said that Husky. It's absolute bollokcs
