Summer Transfer Window 2019
bob fleming replied to Neal's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I’m very worried too Stuart. However we have five weeks to get one in. Quite frankly if we don’t I’ll be amazed. -

Summer Transfer Window 2019
bob fleming replied to Neal's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Nope, still here gb. Anyway, transfers. Everyone knows we need new defenders, including the manager. Despite what some will tell you the transfer window didn’t shut the minute Downing signed his contract. There is still time. Most, if not all, players contracts end on 30 June. Why start paying players earlier? Not saying that’s the reason why we haven’t been busier but it’s hardly been hectic around the championship. So a centre half, left back, new keeper, new midfielder and a striker. Possibly for me. I’ve no problem with the Downing signing. One thing this team needs is leaders and experience. Time to put an end to the sloppy unforgivably weak goals we give away at the end of matches. Get some accountability in the team. We need two or three in there to dig the culprits out. A proper centre half, a Craig Short, Kevin Moran, Berg type to get them organised and switched on. If we stop these mistakes, bring 4 or 5 better players in than we’ve got (big ask) then we really should be right up there challenging. -

What? Like putting you on ignore? That would only leave me with half a messageboard to read. -

No, fortunately still alive and well enough to read your prolific output. Although at times the alternative does seem attractive. -

“Calm down” ? says the man who’s posted 11 times in this thread alone today before 10.00am. -
Quite. And that’s what makes this run even worse. 3 0 against Hull, the best football played in years. For the wheels to come off as they have. It’s just not good enough. Apathy indeed.

Yorkshire Tea in our house, or, on occasion, Badgers Piss. They have the Badgers Piss Tea Bags down The Asda out the back.

ROVERS VS STOKE CITY

No need for that mate. You’ve got half this messageboard Googling the word “fun” now. What’s next? After 3 defeats in 44 games, the extravagant term “moderately happy”? -

Should be used to it by now bazza! Keeps the blood pump on its toes though, I’ll give you that! Just saw the goals on Sky 402. Soppy penalty decision that I thought. -

Oh crap. I didn’t know that. Don’t get me wrong, I followed it on Twitter. Just presumed it was tactical ? -

No mention of that anywhere. Just resting him I’d have thought. It was in the bag after all. ??? -

True. But bloody hell fire. There was no need for that. -
Probably his finest game!

Derby County vs Rovers, Tues 18th Sept
bob fleming replied to Mike E's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Well remembered that man! A bit of googling. Garns and Caldwell (v Walsall) both scored 5 on 10 Sept 83. Rush scored 5 v Luton October 83 - not on the same day as I thought. The play off games v Derby are easily in my top twenty of all time and the 4-2 win at Ewood right up there with the very best. What a game. 2 nil down early on. Here we go, blown it yet again. Speedie (2) Newell and Sellers saw them off. The atmosphere at the back of the BBE was crazy. The away leg was incredibly tense. Derby were a good team. Kevin Moran scoring with a typically brave header, the image never to be forgotten as he leapt above the Derby defence and time stood still as he seemed to hover up there for a couple of minutes before crashing the ball home. -

I always thought rush scored 5 that same day along with another player (I.e 3 of them) possibly that “guy from Bolton”. -

Ah. Ok. i liked this post. IMO he can be! As I can be an absolute knobhead. The daft thing about this messageboard is that most arguements / disagreements can be sorted out over a pint with a smile and a shrug of the shoulders. No real biggie. Easy to forget we’re all Rovers fans sometimes. Sorry Stuart. -
Oh dear, stupid boy. In light of this I have to agree with Stuart, that picture now looks terrible. Whilst he may not have posted it on social media one of his friends has. And with friends like those... It may or may not have been taken this weekend but it's all in the timing of it's release and the perception. Time to grow up and get his priorities right.

Listening to 30 mins or so this morning. I must say I thought the Bill Arthur piece was excellent.
