  1. "....And it's Live!!!" Just feck off Tyler. I know it's bloody live. Jim White. "It's all so unbelievably exciting!!" (as opposed to Bob Mortimer on the Athletico Mince podcast "doing" Jim White, which is just superb)
  2. Ref wasn’t called Derek was he?
  3. Danny Graham should start up front. Every single time. Preferably with Dack behind him. Anything else is just wrong. G’night.
  4. See I'm at it now! It's a common mistake!
  5. Goalkeeper - might be similar to Raya. Don't know yet. Right Back - would start with Nyambe. JRC and Bennett can cover. This will do I suppose. Big season for Nyambe. Centre Half - the one I was hoping for and the one that would have been my priority. An experienced 30+ year old who could organise the defence, get them set up and switched on. I don't think we got that and we certainly didn't have it before. But we did get a 6 foot 4 centre half in from Man City, rated by their manager. Leaving us with Lenihan, Williams (looks comfortable enough in there for me), the aforementioned Tosin. Also Nyambe can cover, plus there's Grayson - and maybe even Mulgrew yet. But we're one short for me if Mulgrew does go. So maybe we will bring in a free agent? Don't know. Left Back - Cunningham sounds just the ticket. Bell, Hart can cover and Williams of course. Upgraded Midfield - Johnson and Travis every week. Upgraded through Johnson. Plenty of cover and bodies here. Evans, Smallwood will do a job but you'd hope their playing time will be limited. There's also Downing, Davenport, Bennett. Attacking Mid - Dack, Butterworth, Buckley perhaps? Can take from the pool of other midfielders and forwards if need be. Forwards - Graham, Gallagher, Armstrong, Brereton, Samuel, Chapman So in summary more than enough cover up front and in midfield. Where you fit them all in I have no idea and there is a lack of width for me, but that's not how we set up. Defence: improved the left back position. Right back; as you were. Centre half is clearly the concern. I see that Cunningham and Williams played at Bristol City together so hopefully they'll have a good understanding. Would have loved to have seen that Kevin Moran, Craig Short, Henning Berg type brought in but there you go. We shall see.
  6. My old man says Best was the one. That’s not belittling anyone by the way. Sir Tom was a top fella by all accounts, he was in the army with my wife’s late grandad (rip) who also said he was a top bloke, as was he. Ronnie was a lovely fella, captain of England. Dougie, another really nice guy. Still goes to Ewood of course. So to contradict myself I really wouldn’t worry too much about who was the best. They’re all absolute legends.
  7. Sorry if I wasn’t explicit enough, when I said “two up top” I meant two strikers. Anyway, we digress.
  8. Massive call that, whoever the manager is.
  9. That would be great. I’d play with two wingers and two up top all day long in this league but I’m not sure where Dack would fit in on that one.
  10. If you think we play with wingers then that’s fair enough, no worries. Right sided forward / left sided forward at the best. Not out and out wingers in my opinion.
  11. Ah ha! Someone else had noticed! Seems a shame to shatter that illusion. Anyway, we’ve finally signed a centre half! However I expect that Man City are just agreeing Pep’s pay off package before appointing the WBAS board as their new manager. Of course I jest but it will be great to hear from so many happy posters on here now that this is finally over the line.
  12. …. which is all very well. But, well, quite frankly it's minging so I'm afraid I won't be investing. I'm sorry but I'm out.
  13. None of which will matter to you, you’re on record saying you won’t go again until Venkys have gone. After that your constant daily posts about how everything is shit carry very little weight. The sane amongst us will wait until the end of the window, then make a judgement. It’s blindingly obvious what’s needed next. I’ll not repeat it. Good signing though.
  14. Very true Rev, very true. Good job I’m not manager. Tough gig.
  15. Can we!! Can we have Hyperbole!! That would be the greatest!
  16. I’m sure I read it on here, occasional 9/10, occasional 3 or 4 out of 10. Need the middle ground. Superb shot stopper. Brilliant. But never looked big enough - not enough presence. Next...
  17. If they put a “highlights” reel on of his errors I’d be here until sund... oh, ffs
  18. I’m very worried too Stuart. However we have five weeks to get one in. Quite frankly if we don’t I’ll be amazed.
  19. Well that was a shit signing.
  20. Nope, still here gb. Anyway, transfers. Everyone knows we need new defenders, including the manager. Despite what some will tell you the transfer window didn’t shut the minute Downing signed his contract. There is still time. Most, if not all, players contracts end on 30 June. Why start paying players earlier? Not saying that’s the reason why we haven’t been busier but it’s hardly been hectic around the championship. So a centre half, left back, new keeper, new midfielder and a striker. Possibly for me. I’ve no problem with the Downing signing. One thing this team needs is leaders and experience. Time to put an end to the sloppy unforgivably weak goals we give away at the end of matches. Get some accountability in the team. We need two or three in there to dig the culprits out. A proper centre half, a Craig Short, Kevin Moran, Berg type to get them organised and switched on. If we stop these mistakes, bring 4 or 5 better players in than we’ve got (big ask) then we really should be right up there challenging.
  21. What? Like putting you on ignore? That would only leave me with half a messageboard to read.
  22. No, fortunately still alive and well enough to read your prolific output. Although at times the alternative does seem attractive.
