I'm saying, that the notion that Markanday will do well in league 1 is not how football works. The argument over the last few days, weeks, is that signing Gueye, Ohashi with no experience at a lower league level or any English level, would automatically mean that they would struggle in the championship. We are panicking, even before the season has started. There are players who have come from the PL, and been busts in the championship.

I thought, that if you come from the PL, you should automatically smash it in the Championship etc? At least that's what some forum members make you believe should happen.. So any foreign player, who has not played in league 1 or the PL, would not do well in the Championship.

I still think that as well... He plays on the edges of the box, he looks like he can find a pass, and he can move the ball around by the looks of it. So that makes him quite versatile. Is he what we need right now? Maybe not, but, the more the merrier in terms of goal threats, if Sammie eventually does leave

He doesn't need to be quick..watch the video again, and watch how many times he scored goals, just being in the right place at the right time. He roams, he picks up loose balls, and scores..This team needs players who can get to the 2nd ball first

Actually watching this, and thinking he would be an a great little number 10 or in that attacking midfield role behind Gueye with Yuki

Bring me all the Japanese players we can get... We've seen over the years, that their work ethic and intensity is top notch..they are good professionals, plus maybe it might bring in some extra Japanese investment

Nantes fans were not happy to see him go. They said that he could have made their first team this season. I don't know what he was earning there, and what he is earning here, but I would have assumed that playing first team football at Nantes, would have been better than Under 21/s here

I don't disagree with that, but I'm saying that any player that signs, whether it's from a top league, or not, there is still a chance they turn out badly or they do well.. one player might fit the system better, another not that well.. When the season comes, we can re visit this discussion, as to whether it was a failure or not.

Doesn't matter. There were no guarantees, that he would do well here. Plenty of footballers have done well in a league, changed clubs, and flopped. You still dependant on the players around you, or the system being used by different managers etc

Well, with our budget or lack thereof, who do we think we will get? Just find it funny, that we are once again having a meltdown, with the players we have signed, before they have even kicked a ball here.

You can't develop young players, in the way the club hopes to, when the overall squad isnt performing at a high level. It's kind of silly, to say to a young player, go out there and take this team to the next level. There has to be a balance, and the club needs to get that balance right first.

Strange post this. When we don't sign players, we question the club. When we do, we are worried about young players, who are not good enough to be playing first team football yet.. we have a good academy, but it ain't La Masia good..

Not saying he shouldn't go, but if the right offer doesn't come in, and he has to stay, then it's something that might keep him going.

Maybe these signings, might convince Sammie to stay one more season, and then see how it goes.. If we don't need to sell him, then maybe we just keep him.
