[Archived] Stead Completes Sunderland Move
laughatthedingles replied to LeChuck's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Stead hasn't played up front with anyone all season, the only time he has in his Rovers career was with either Coley or Gally in his first season and his record was exceptional. He would have been a quality player for us and this will come back to bite us!!! Granted he played a few with Dickov but for all his good points he is very much an individual, he does a lot of running and good work for the team but rarely links up with his strike partner and someone like Stead who is relatively inexperienced needs that, and thrived working off a quality player in Coley, rumours have it Coley will now return but that will be extremely dampened by Steady's departure, them two together along with another good forward would have been an exciting prospect. -
and mahon (7) and gillespie (8) and hignett (9) and flitcroft (10) and curtis (11) and berg (12).........

Anyone dressing up and/or taking inflatables?? I'm wearing the 95 winners shirt and I'm gonna try and get a few blow ups. -
The ability to add your own avatar and maybe even to alter an existing one to make it unique for yourself would be good.

Has to be a 1995 league winning day for me, get the old shirts out, get the old songs going! -
Would be surprised if Hendry didn't play, also Wilcox is probably quite likely as is Atkins.

Got to say that with Van Nistlerooy bagging a goal in midweek and Ferdinand being passed fit alongside Rooney who is in top form the omens don't look good, except this is exactly the kind of challenge we have been looking for, against a side who will play football, can Mokeona, Todd and Nelsen follow Rooney & Scholes' runs from deep?? if they do we could nick it, if not then the planning could go out of the window and a hiding could be instore, we'll see! -

apologies, todd too had a virus. -
we dont say we are the best fans, the media hype it all up!! yeah we take thousands away to matches get ###### and have a laugh, but lets be honest i dont think you fans would begrudge us getting a trophy would ya?? If it's at the expense of us then hell yeah! However if we cannot win it then to see Shearer score a hat-trick and break the record, then go on to lift the F.A. Cup would be nice, shame it can't be against Manure, ironically this could actually be a bad thing for you as then he would definatly retire!

another good preview by squarefootball.net The most worrying thing about the whole article is that they say only 11,000 tickets have been sold by Rovers by the time of writing which would appear to be this morning or last night!
