  1. Underwhelmed if it's Eustace. But then I've been underwhelmed by everything the club has done in the last 14 years!
  2. Problem is, what are this set of players suitable for? They can't play the tippy tappy stuff. They are too slow to play on the break. Too small/weak to go direct/long ball. It's a piss poor squad.
  3. Makes you wish Hyam could spend 5 minutes in a dressing room with Andy Todd. I'm hoping the new old lad Mcfazdean or whatever his name is may be a bit more old fashioned in his approach.
  4. You know we are fucked when Pears is trotted out as a senior player. Hyam though, he's disappeared on the pitch. No leader at all.
  5. QPR brought on some of their last minute signings. Ours were either missing altogether, not fit enough or not good enough to come on. Kevin Gallagher alluded to it on the radio. Says all you need to know about our window.
  6. The way we play surely lies with the Director of Football/ CEO. The coach is brought in to play the style of football the club has identified. In our case the club identified it wanted a style of football that put players in the shop window so they could be sold. The only remit - to avoid relegation.
  7. A result most of us expected. Nothing else to say really.
  8. Hyam soft as fuck for that goal. Embarrassing. Not a leader amongst them.
  9. He's come on as sub for Palace. They've gone from 1 down to 3 down. At least he'll be used to that🤷🏻‍♂️
  10. It won't be any decent manager because we now operate the DOF/Head coach model.
  11. It wouldn't surprise anybody. It's been their MO for years. Another awful window. Still think we'll be looking nervously over our shoulder come April. Clear as day that Swag had the Wharton deal lined up to plug costs - where else was his 'next tranche of funding' coming from? There's nothing to sell in summer so if the court issue isn't addressed, things should get interesting. Alternatively, if it is, the usual bollocks about ffp won't be an excuse for a year or two. I'll not hold my breath.
  12. Well. Isn't this the most predictable thing to wake upto after an early night. There was never s chance of any signings. I wouldn't be surprised if Wharton was assured money would be spent if he left. As soon as the ink was dry though... Dream venky window. Just need one more striker off the books now.
  13. The second kid on loan from Brighton seems a waste of a slot. Am I right in thinking you can get as many loans as you like but only 5 can go in your match day squad?
  14. We won't get any permanent talent from the prem. Our wage structure is too low. Unless the 'flex' comes back. Exactly the type of player we should be trying to sign if we actually have a little cash. Said it before though, nobody comes permanently that's not from league one or below or a European minor league.
  15. It matters not what we gave to spend on transfers. Our wage structure is so low, we won't attract any permanent talent above league 1.
  16. Nice to get a decent win. Controlled the game apart from that 10 min spell. Hopefully a big crowd down for the Geordies. Can't see us getting owt, they'll be too quick but you never know - its what the cup's all about.
  17. That's where I'm at. Only done a couple of actual Ewood games this season. Pay less attention to Rovers news. Spend less time on here. Mate and I were discussing stuff to do over next few months and for the first time ever, neither of us could be arsed with any away trips. We aren't a club that is trying to win matches and compete. Our sole aim is to put players in a shop window by playing a brand of football the management think will achieve sales. I didn't get into footy as a kid for that. The flicker of Rovers still burns but its very, very close to being snuffed out.
  18. Wharton is the club's golden goose. If we are truly a 'trading club' to generate transfer fees, we are about to make a £20 million profit. If the sale of Wharton means the club actually implement the 'Brentford' model and half the fee pays for 3 or 4 very promising signings (that we actually own) - I imagine everyone would be happy. It won't though will it? It will just cover losses that Venky are unable to transfer over. We'll have a token 10 percent (including wages) to spend. After Wharton, there isn't much else worth buying - certainly none that premier league money would be interested in. The Wharton transfer is the only way the club bankroll their purported 'vision'. From a fan perspective, he shouldn't be sold unless they are going to do that. They aren't though.
  19. Lucky to get a point there. Poor team. The irony being that it wasn't full of kids.
  20. Shaky at the back. Got nothing going forward. Hudds on top. standard fare.
