  1. Slightly off topic but I was chatting to Andy Johnson today. Told him my son in law and nephew were bluenoses, and a little later he gave signed colour pics, 'Best wishes to Lee' and 'Best wishes to Michael'. Nice bloke.
  2. Full marks to Bentley for singing the national anthem an' all, while most of his team mates stood silent. The camera cut to Pierce in the crowd singing away, stirring stuff. Selected to play for your country in a brand new stadium in the capital, and you don't know the words? disgusting.
  3. Now, is it just me ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3iXoZHcWLoc then http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Zlf_17hecY
  4. That'll be Caribbean and really then. You under 14 Baz ?
  5. Agreed, but I hate the way he growls through the replays. Just an aside, but does anyone think they re-record parts of the commentary following a game for things like 'match choice' ? I've often heard telling comments a few minutes prior to action on the pitch. During the Spurs - Chelsea match they were suggesting that Shevchenko would come good after finding the premiership hard to adapt to, and that sooner than later he would produce something special etc etc. Minutes later he scores a fantastic goal.
  6. I know what a graphic novel is, and thought 'Sin City' was a laugh but the level of expectation for 300 resulted in nothing more than a frown. Add to the points I've already made Lena Headey approaching the senate with all the acting skills of Patsy Palmer, and *drum roll* the closing credits are to the theme from Gladiator FFS. If you're a crusty who collects rare comics then you'll have a hard on for two hours, but this one's not for me, sorry.
  7. What a let down, like watching a two hour pop video. Some of the fight scenes are OK but get a bit samey, it gets boring very quickly. Leonidas meets Xerxes is a sort of highland laird meeting a gangsta pimp, then to cap it all off Ephialtes does his best impression of Quark from Deep space nine. Blood, slo-mo, blood slo-mo, blood, slo-mo, irritating.
  8. As awful as Norbit is, compared to 'Outlaw' it's Citizen Kane.
  9. Must be my age but I'm getting sick and tired of older records being ripped off by so called artists, and new inferior releases laying cancerous eggs in my ears. I can put up with most of them, reassured that I prefer the original and they can just get on with it. Until yesterday. Jamelia has dumped her own vocal over 'Golden Brown' by the Stranglers. Is nothing sacred ?
  10. I can't work out whether I'm listening to The Doors, The Stranglers, Devo or John Denver. The appeal of The Fall is that they are always different, but I'm sorry - that track where he's singing with his missus about u-boats is taking the p*ss.
  11. QUOTE(stuwilky @ Feb 20 2007, 10:58 ) * He's becoming a bit of a cult figure isnt he. Your spelling's awful Try and keep up !
  12. Agreed, the only film to literally have me on the edge of my seat. When he's reaching out to Foster using night vision goggles as she gropes around in total darkness, gripping stuff.
  13. Repeat after me .... 'Rocky 5 does not exist' ..... 'Rocky 5 does not exist' - ad nauseum Hot Fuzz is hilarious.
  14. Not after the Oasis set, that'll be 'rock and roll star' in the car tomorrow !
  15. Too old to care mate, 44 on Saturday ... jesus. I know it's time honoured to be desperately controversial, but the other acts look quite tidy. Even Amy with all her tattoos gave a slick performance, bloody killers had suits on ! Brand's doing a good job
  16. And then the moronic Fratellis. Scruffy c**ts ambling up to the stage with their iron brew, mumbling through a drug soaked acceptance speech. Scotland's finest.
  17. Barleyarks Whilst 111 is probably the most quoted, 11 is by far the best. 1V was just silly, V doesn't exist, and V1 is a nostalgic tribute to the other four films. I couldn't stop smiling all the way through. Ladies and Gentlemen, can I direct your attention to one of the most appalling sacks of drivel I almost ended up watching to the end. A current though limited release 'Back in Business' with Martin Kemp. Complete and out and out @#/?.
