  1. I’m in Cherry tree, our garden is wet but not under water by any means, we’ve certainly had much much worse rain and had games go ahead
  2. Embarrassing for a game to be called off 10 hours before kick off for a waterlogged pitch when it’s not even been particularly bad
  3. I live in Cherry tree and my garden is officially better than the Ewood pitch it seems. Very early for the game to be off, I’d be disappointed if we were Chorley never mind Rovers Ps Time to go still Tony
  4. Mowbray took over with 15 games to go and us only 3 points from safety, hardly a lost cause, we had some bad luck in that run in but threw away a few games late on (ffs Gallagher) and had some awful performances to boot, remember Barnsley at home feeling like a surrender. When O’Neill took over at Stoke they were 6 points adrift, he had the January window but ultimately he succeeded. The only facts around our relegation season is we didn’t quite do enough. As you say, the facts don’t lie.
  5. O’Neill thought the red card was harsh so does that mean it obviously was harsh?
  6. So the barometer for correct decisions is if a manager complains? You seem to have a varying level of evidence required for when a decision is in our favour compared to one that goes against us.
  7. This is before Elliott makes contact with it, at best it’s borderline but I think it goes out and I’m pretty sure you would have been certain of this had it been the other way around
  8. Quoted there as saying if he could pick between investing in the pitch and the squad he’ll pick the pitch and make the current squad work. He’s not only found himself a perfect excuse for underperforming now but nailed his excuse for the next couple of years at the same time. That’s some next level Teflon
  9. In fairness you were staunchly against Big Sam (can’t pretend I was a huge fan of his towards the end either mind), we all have our own limits and beliefs as to when supporting the team starts and stops and when there is more at play. Personally i would now like the manager to leave tomorrow rightly or wrongly but I’m less bothered than I have been before, come out of here more through habit these days, sad times.
  10. It doesn’t work like that, it’s only a negative to Rovers, just like bad officials only go against us, and injuries
  11. Poor result Just go Mowbray
  12. I’m a bit bored of it all to be honest. Still think an Armstrong winner is incoming
  13. No excuses with that team now, think we’ll get a solid win and a clean sheet today
  14. For someone who is meant to put a lot of investment and focus on stats and analytics it’s convenient to now ignore all of that because to his eye we look better. The personality is hugely different of course but these are some real ‘dew on the grass’ level comments @Parsonblue is spot on (no surprise) you need to know your best team, remember Tony over thinking a game in league one and subsequently messing it up because he shuffled his team around in fear of the oppositions left back!
  15. Let’s be honest whether you think he’s naive, lacks end product or whatever, nobody would have expected 3 goals, 2 assists (plus a penalty won and a huge hand in Dack’s goal) all by mid January from a kid we picked up presumably on peanuts for the youth set up. How much did Brereton contribute in his first half season (or 2 full seasons) here, or even Armstrong in his first half season in this league, even Rothwell who always looked a threat took a while to start delivering. Whilst the lad may at times hold it too long and not capitalise on his runs he’s also produced the goods by being in the right place to finish moves. Let’s not forget he’s also been dealing (admirably) with a tragedy in his personal life. Delighted he’s a Rovers player and hope he continues to develop.
  16. He just wanted to be the shootout hero, Jason’s mamma didn’t raise no fool
  17. Infurtiating comments, full on self preservation mode, we aren’t winning because of chances we are missing or ‘not my fault mate’ in other words
  18. You know none of this is a new phenomenon. Glenn and Ste had to lock the board down after some defeats in the Souness era if you remember
  19. Buckley is too scared of the keeper there, poor
  20. Stunning save but Dack shouldn’t give him a chance
  21. Think we’ll get a goal as they sit back more but this just feels like Tony throwing things at it and hoping something works, no real plan or tactics.
  22. He set up one of our best chances with some great skill and a great pass to Buckley
