FAC Q/F v Sheffield United (a) - 19/3/23, 12pm K/O
cesus replied to garnersfags's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Hedges and JRC are so comfortable on the ball and so willing to take it. Taking them off gave us no out ball for the rest of the game, we literally had no spell of holding onto the ball. To be honest those subs would have made for a very long extra time had it stayed 2-2. Great effort up to the 80th min, terrible shape afterwards!!! -

Thanks Morton! -
To be fair I added to that noise with an "ooooo", as I thought it was a great effort at an attempt forward which before that had been in short supply. Then Thomas did great to keep it in and supply a top assist.
-
Buckley is a very good player, the problem he has is that his style of floaty close control looks really bad when it doesn't come off. His ability to hold the ball and keep it under massive pressure is probably the best in the squad, just needs a bit more consistency.
-
Fair play to this group of players and coaching staff, to keep on churning out results when we would all admit they needed help in January. Great mentality!
-
Not too sure, I'm gutted as it's a game I could with being on the red button!

According to my guide its Norwich and the EFL semi final.

Bradley Dack - Twist or Stick?
cesus replied to bigbrandjohn's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Dack being out for a decent period of time has taken my slight optimism of play offs away. His ability to just nick us goals here and there don't exist elsewhere in the squad. -
No way on earth should this be overturned. I can't think of any external factors that would cause us to not be able to complete the deals. Getting the players to us could be problematic, with wages and future payments being ironed out etc but we had actually achieved that. We messed up the easy part which is unforgivable, clubs up and down the country managed to get this part right on the same day.
-
I spent most of the game pondering if we had had any sort of value from BBD after the 4th minute back pass to the keeper. Its hard to balance as he cost lots and goes for nothing so that really skews the value but his goal to game ratio is 1 in 3.6 which isn't great. He has been a strange player for us, most of his time here has been both extremes of good and bad.

I actually have no words for that performance. It was absolutely painful to watch, what was the plan? The transfer window followed by that just makes me want to give the rest of the season a passing interest.
-
Thanks for the repost. Fair play to Sharpe as he is often accused of toeing the line, but has been as questioning of the whole disaster as he should be. I said at the time and still standby, whoever dealt with the paperwork should not be in the job anymore. The only bit of slack I'll give anybody at Ewood is I'm sure they spent most of the day "on hold" to India.
-
Every person involved in the paperwork should be sacked for being god damn incompetent, this is a fecking multi million pound organisation. This is peoples bread and butter, all clubs signing players on deadline day had the same paperwork to complete. Its an absolute disgrace!!!! The manager said we needed more players brought in to help the squad as they were out on their feet earlier in the window. We have ended up with less bodies, it's a disaster!
-
The fact that Sharpe from the LT is silent gives me hope, he would have usually had his transfer window write up done by now if all was done.
-
The vicious circle then starts when these players make the step up and the first team doesn't have the quality to help them develop. If you look at the amount of academy prospects that get to our first team and then come to a crashing halt in terms of developing it is actually scary. The academy to first team plan has been in for years, Raya is the only person to bring in a decent fee.
-
They are consistent though. As I'm at my annual "how the hell does anybody work for these idiots" stage. I did (stupidly) think this year with having a director of football there was a slight chance we may line up some signings to hit January running but alas no. I'm now preparing myself for loan players who haven't kicked a ball all season, who will take until the end of March to get fit and then injured in April.

We need BBD back to form as Dack WILL get him chances. -
Well now I know.
-
I don't know what his wages are to be fair, but I'd want a new agent if I was on relatively low wages if I'd just been bought for many million.
-
To be fair to the club (well a normal club, but go with me) Breretons first contract with the club as a £6/7m player with huge potential would, surely have been worth more than an extention based on what was produced in his few seasons. Then Chile and Diaz happened out of the blue and we haven't been able to sort anything since be that club or player.
-
Burnley are absolutely walking this league, to be so far ahead at this stage is impressive. Who would have thought that bringing in a manager and giving him the backing to bring in his own players would be so positive. Roll on tomorrow to watch us try to play the managers chosen style with last year's players.

Agree with all that, I see somebody like Rathbone and it infuriates more that our main stay in midfield is a lad who openly states that he is here for the learning process. Give me a dog of war any day over a kid that's here to learn ahead of 6 annual appearances off the bench for Liverpool at best. -

We are simply just too predictable, we don't have a single full back who will give the opposition a worry. To know that nobody is going to bomb on gives your opponent so much less to worry about. Without Brereton (woefully out of form) or a Dolan (recovering from injury) or even a Markanday (not yet trusted) we can barely even break away out of own half. We've had it for years and days like yesterday bring it all back, playing for Blackburn Rovers is all too easy, all very nice. Nobody really expects anything at the club, keep getting paid, 4-0 defeat or 4-0 win the world keeps turning. -

As somebody said before losing is part of football, it is actually something we are very used to, but I'm getting absolutely cheesed off at the amount of no shows. We cannot keep having performances like this, Preston which are humiliations. Also let's not forget the Cardiff away, Coventry away were we offered absolutely nothing and seemed clueless. I don't follow any other teams closely but I simply cannot believe that teams can be as bad as us when they have off days! -

Hyam has been excellent this season but they are two diabolical, half arsed clearances for the goals!!
