  1. Some results just bring a smile to your face as a Rovers fan and today was one of them, this squad is about as decimated as any in Venkys regime. As decimated as it is they did all you could have asked of them as a fan, LABORE!
  2. Show him onto his right foot and he is completely ineffective. The Premier League worked that out last year and he had a very, very quiet season.
  3. Good stuff Glen, thank you. If I was Mr Sharpes editor at the LT I would be concerned how you can get more content out of the club than he can!
  4. I think what is being wildly missed on here is the fact that in the main your statement is correct. The current Championship transfer model is clubs with parachute payments spend money on the better quality Championship players, for which Joe Rothwell fell into this category but this bid got rejected. Clubs also have a punt year, looks like Middlesbrough this year where they spend money. The rest of the championship teams work on frees, loans, and small bids from lower leagues, abroad or youth squads. With the best intentions Nyambe and Lenihan fall into the bracket of "solid Championship player", these deals in the vast, vast majority end on Bosmans. The transfer market in the last few years shows no evidence that players like Nyambe or Lenihan go for the figures that are often banded about on here. like £3M.
  5. This made me laugh, alot! I think I laugh so I don't cry!
  6. That seems incredibly low for a top Premier league keeper (as ridiculous as that sounds). If you are to believe some on here Lenihan isn't on too much of a dissimilar salary at Boro!
  7. I genuinely don't think it would be an over exaggeration to say he would need to take a £100k per week pay cut to be our best paid player.
  8. Does anybody know if Forest are entitled to any of the vastly reduced as he only has 12 months left on his contract Brereton fee?
  9. I am in no way defending the management structure here, but I was genuinely intrigued to get a feel of how much trading goes on between clubs in the Championship for the few million we feel the leaving players are worth. According to the site referenced below not many at all last season. Our figures seem pretty accurate so I'd guess other clubs are. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/championship/transfers/wettbewerb/GB2
  10. Playing devil's advocate here but how many bids ever actually came in for Lenihan or Nyambe? I mean we give them a considerable pay rise with a view to recouping money but if no bids have ever come in why would they in the future. Some players get their pay rises by being solid Championship players and playing the Bosman/contractor market.
  11. Whatever people think of Nyambe and Lenihan, I wouldn't fancy being a new manager of a club and losing 400+ club games experience in my defence before a ball has been kicked.
  12. Hope its an easy commute for him.
  13. I just cannot comprehend that nobody at this club could come up with a figure that would equate to a desired grand total. Surely anybody with a brain could work out that selling 6000 at £500 isn't better than selling 12,000 at £250 with all the extras more feet through the gate spend. It's surely better for people like Waggott to say we sold more season tickets than last year Ma'am! Priced right your cannot tell me this club couldn't get north of 12,000 season tickets sold.
  14. I expected things to be bad, but that has completely floored me. The sales campaign deserves it, the owners deserve it but my lord the former good name of Blackburn Rovers Football Club doesn't. FUCK YOU VENKYS!!!
  15. I dug out Harry Redknapp's autobiography to read on holiday this week, some of the things he says scream why the hell we are struggling to attract any names here. He talks about being closely bonded with coaches as generally its them sticking together against the hierarchy. You have to make do with what's already here at Rovers. He talks about directors of football being a nightmare if you are established as you have your own ways and if a struggle comes along you are always worried they report back to the owners as that's their side. Everything he said that a manager is weary of when taking a job is happening here!!
  16. My exact feeling too, Daddy was a businessman man who left them fail safe businesses that even they couldn't mess up. This one they did set up is getting up to 1/4 Billion pound losses and counting!! They don't have a clue, all this talk of "insiders" here, they've never made any real decisions other than to hard ball selling of players. Any other club would have potted Mowbray in March and Waggott well after the season he actually drove fans away from wanting to buy a ticket on the day of matches.
  17. I had a Preston season ticket flyer handed to me on my drive last night, I thought it was pretty random in Clitheroe. The bloke told me fans had been dishing them around all of Lancashire. I had a look on their fans twitter page and they think they've dropped around 170k flyers. Prices for early bird are about 1/3 cheaper than the previous season £280/£300 for an adult. They are aiming for 10,000 sales. Mr Waggott went for a very different approach!
  18. I've just read on twitter that Burnley have borrowed against the 2nd down-payment from Newcastle of £12.5m for Chris Wood, at an eye watering 8-9% interest. It's from Kieran Maguire so I'd defo say it's legit. Pace (the club) has no cash!
  19. I will never forget just how much that lot rubbed it in our faces when our demise came, it was clear for anybody to see that we were being run by outside forces who were clearly ripping the club to shreds. Yet that lot had Indian flags, agent Kean and generally a great time over it all. So I will enjoy this, I'm glad it was cruel in that they thought they were down months ago, then sacking Dyche seemed like a masterstroke then it all blew up. I'm now glad that they are all twitchy if the owner is who he seems and whether he has the funds to see them bounce back. I'm glad because that feeling isn't nice and they have loved seeing it happen to us.
  20. I agree with this, I really think whilst we should have a shortlist per se, actually we should see who fancies this gig and the club could potentially get a nice surprise. A tip to any manager coming in is to never mention 1994 and think the fans still expect that, it really does offend supporters!
  21. I actually don't think they will be surprised, nobody should be. We've had years of this shite! These guys knew who they were working for. It doesn't make it acceptable but being surprised at being treated shockingly by the owners is like being surprised your pet lion bit you.
  22. Agreed, all that's happening now is people's anger towards the owners is reigniting. I don't think the club will be shifting many season tickets whilst this is all carrying on.
  23. Haven't we been told today that Waggott has no say in what goes on and just carries out his pay masters orders. So I'm starting to be a tad confused, he has no say on anything but decides who will be manager? It's going to be a long summer!!
  24. Its almost like Tony and Waggott have just realised they haven't won the Nigerian lottery and it was all a scam.
  25. I think the lads who go and watch Stanley who used to have Ewood season tickets who I know, certainly go there as its better for them socially. Better beer, facilities and cheaper tickets is a tick for them after their desire for heading to Ewood dwindled.
