To be fair to Hedges I'd say there will be statistics that managers score him on and they will be going towards our goal rather than the opponents. He is the one protecting the full back in the air, he has the energy to stop 2 on 1's. I'm no Hedges super fan but I don't think any manager he has played for here is scoring him on goals and assists.

Just for one summer why can't we be normal. Operate like a normal club, offer players with deals coming to an end a new contract, if they don't want it tell them to tell their agent we are after X amount for them to move on. If the owners are not willing to spend, working like a normal trading club is more important than ever. Yet for the second season running we have a player refusing to take part in pre season who 100% will leave the club.

I'm 100% with you on this. We as fans need to remove logical football club rules from our thought process when we sell players. Selling players pays bills with crumbs left for replacements, that is a fact.

I'd put money on the manager wanting Travis, Brittain and Tronstadt to leave for nothing next summer than losing them all this summer and getting circa of £2m to replace them all. For me any talk of new contracts disappeared after them not signing a new one within a few weeks of the season finishing, in the blind faith we would spent some decent money on pushing for promotion again.

I couldn't help be baffled that Weimann had a surgery before the end of the season, "to be fit and ready for next season". I scratched my head at the time wondering how we knew he wasn't using our medical department to get ready for somebody else, turns out my fears were correct.

My main issue with Pears is he seems like an easy target. If a team is good at set pieces and can "stick it on him" he looks absolutely petrified, I think at this level a team having that over you is a risk that isn't worth taking.

When you read a LT sub headline of "Wrexham flex financial muscles", when they are coming after our captain. The easiest thing for any business is to save money, the trickiest is to make money. Executives at this club are complicit in the long term damage of this football club because you cannot cut costs forever without doing reversible damage. We are very close to becoming a toxic brand. With sympathy even for associated fans disappearing.

There is an honesty and work rate to Hedges game that I've always respected, and I'm sure if you are a full back you are very happy to have him covering you. I have to say though, I thought he struggled this season and would be concerned if he played as much next season as he did this.

Accrington Stanley have decided to close their academy. I can't help but think we will see another Lancashire club really struggling to compete in professional football like Morecambe, very soon. Andy Holt seems to have turned the taps off for anything other than keeping the lights on. Rudy Gestede clearly was desperate for ANY job in football and has no self pride, he is just another in a long line of charlatans willing to chat Pashas line. Pasha is the problem, he is the person making Venkys believe that Rovers is "working".
