  1. If we are being honest too Reece James had a shot in the first half that went through his legs and was only stopped because it hit him on the arse on the way down.
  2. Having never seen Leo play before we signed him I'm interested to know if his natural game was to punch the ball away. The more I watch him the more he looks completely unnatural at punching.
  3. I've always loved Brad Friedel, but with every passing season I love him a little bit more.
  4. Burnley will be fine ... just need to get the drummer sorted 🥁🥁🥁 They were that good going forwards last season they didn't really need to defend. When they did need to defend they looked pretty ropey ... they look worse this season.
  5. Holt did a strange interview with Radio Lancs in pre-season digging Coleman out about how big a squad he amassed in the relegation season and that he should never have let him build up so many players. He stated it cost the club an absolute fortune in scans and medical bills due to the squad size. I watched the management interviews too last week and thought it wasn't going to end well. Holt will refuse to pay them off and they won't walk so it could end up a miserable season for them. I'm not too sure how well Holts other businesses are doing but I saw Wilko owed them north of £350k when they went pop!
  6. Pretty grim game, I'm just delighted to have won and not played well. The win stops us having to deal with the condescending post match interview from their manager telling us we "are the best footballing team we have played this season" after a defeat.
  7. Very harsh on Carter, he's not started the season well but was excellent last. Doesn't bode well for a centre back when your mate is having a stinking season too.
  8. I'm with you, if you read the script of last night's game which was it being a scrappy game with poor finishing but a team got a late winner, we all know which team would have lost. We are still not in my opinion for all the good JDT has done, a team with any sort of grit when the chips are down.
  9. I've noticed that Preston/Bolton are both giving away tickets in a ballot for members of the blue light card scheme (members of emergency services, military etc). They seem to just get it, an empty stadium makes no money. Having people in those seats watching (we must be mega to watch for a neutral) and enjoying their day will stand a far greater chance of creating future revenue than empty seats.
  10. With how much work he is being asked to do and no obvious replacement on the sidelines in the squad currently, this isn't too far off.
  11. I was at the game so didn't any commentary, did Pears get injured when Vardy beat him charging out his goal? AGAIN.
  12. Agreed, Sunderland broke on us way more than Leicester did today. If Leicester had that many breaks it could have been 6/7. A misplaced pass happens, when it gives them a 5 on 4 there is a flaw in the system.
  13. What a throughly demoralising defeat that was. I'll say that 4-1 was pretty damn harsh overall. We just got spanked everytime we made any sort of mistake. I of course can easily find faults with the set up, but I don't overally know what you can do with that squad we had available today. JDT has some decisions to make, as being so open and having a centre half partnership that seem completely shot for form/confidence you cannot have teams steaming forwards on the break. At 3-1 against Leicester at home you take the loss and tighten up a bit, you most certainly don't concede on the break again, that is criminal.
  14. I think there is a big difference for a goalkeeper between "could have done better" when conceding a goal and "being at fault" for a goal. I can't remember a goalkeeper in the last decade "being at fault" for a goal as often as Pears.
  15. I'm with you on that. If not Venkys shafting you the next person in charge could literally asset strip the club so much quicker with the club and training ground (probably one of the more higher value land value training grounds in the country too!) being seperate entities. The training ground being separate helped us through one round of FFP, it should have been way bigger longer term security than one round of FFP.
  16. I honestly think the lapsed fans have gone. People can only take being humiliated so many times, I honestly believe this clubs decision tomorrow night will send some people away forever too. The criminal thing that people like Waggott have failed to realise is you may have lost the vocal disgruntled fans which may please them, but they are doing absolutely nothing to bring on the next generation of fans. The owners/Waggott are merely a custodian of the club yet they are seriously putting the future of the club in jeopardy.
  17. What ever anybody does, do not remind Waggott that Arsenal painted a board with fans on during the early 90's at Highbury when it was being developed or we may never see the BBE end open again. All jokes aside, the guy is an absolute fraud just employed to take the smoke from the owners. As somebody said on here last week, the easiest job in the world is to save money, the good ones MAKE money!!
  18. My point is he can struggle in a game like any player, having an old head on the bench to sure thing up would have helped the last few games in my opinion.
  19. Part of a defence that has shipped 7 pretty awful goals in 2 games. Abit like Ayala did when we hit rocky patches in the last few years.
  20. Those are some horrific goals. Pears cannot play the next league game, his decision making is Sunday league. He comes for balls he can't win then doesn't come for balls he should. We need to steady up and get an old head to sure up the defence .... oh yeah the owners wouldn't let us buy one!!!
  21. BBE closed or not, I'm staggered at that figure. I'm kinda lost for words. Surely from past ticket sales their must be data to see a spike in sales in the days before a game.
  22. I think JRC did very well at full back and was almost a surprise entity as he was random in what positions he took up and was a general thorn in the side for the opposition. He isn't afforded that time in central positions and understandably look less pleasing on the eye. We have the problem that for me his strongest position is right back but Callum Brittain is a better right back defensively, with how open we have looked thus far, bringing JRC back at right back would be risky.
  23. It was all just so sloppy, you didn't need a £5/£10 million striker to bag some of those chances you needed a bit of composure. Especially the Leonard/Moran misses after the Sammie shot. The penalty was sloppy, Clarke's eyes lit up when Hedges drew his foot back to row 15 of the Blackburn End and he just made sure he got in the way. The defence was sloppy for the second in a half arsed closing down effort, but so was Pears as he seemed to let bounce over his arm when the shot wasn't far from him. Carter was sloppy for the third. Some of our passing when breaking was so sloppy, I remember very promising breaks collapsing from awful passes from Travis and Hedges. I thought our tactics seemed too gung ho, Sunderland were breaking on us at the start of the second half like it was the 89th minute. We needed the bench to take a breath and try to settle things.
