  1. The whole situation screams of a bloke so comfortable in his job its untrue. He talks about Watfords £90m front line, yet can't see he is touting Armstrong as a Premier League players and has at his disposal a player who would have literally made 10+ appearances for the Premier & Champions League winners this season. Mowbray has never sorted the defence EVER! He moans about injuries but gave a long term contract to a crock, who literally spent a pre-season with us then pissed off to the middle east to whore himself out to try and get more money. It didn't work out and the shiny contract was still there waiting like idiots. If a manager was worried for his job he would be playing our kids in a crisis yet he is getting other clubs kids in and given them game time. Why the hell wouldn't you use your own, especially when the loaned in kids aren't much kop!! This is a nightmare!!
  2. This point is the thing that annoys me most about Mowbray gobbing off! He surely must realise that fans faith is weighted massively in his favour due to who his bosses are, they've actually for once done their bit with backing him and it's a horror show! There will be way too much to do in summer from a standing start, start moving forward now.
  3. I find the not a Premier League club for a long time comments wholly insulting. We should have never been a League One club but he likes to talk about the promotion out as a success and I'd never take that away from him. That promotion today is as relevant as when we were last in the Premier League. The Premier League/Play offs this season wasn't out of our reach, regardless of being there previously or not, the league is at absolute best average. Injuries haven't helped, Travis and Brereton were both excellent before being injured and have come back ropey to be kind as well as Dack. The team look clueless and completely out of fight, and that is firmly in the manager's remit.
  4. I honestly couldn't think of a more Mowbray goal to concede at the end. An unopposed lofted through ball in the middle of our half over the head of our midfielder playing centre back, to their striker who is being chased by our striker who spends most of his time on the wing.
  5. For me, the legacy of Mowbray not sorting the defence is what every signal fan will come back to. We concede dire goals, not just these last two games but for most of Mowbrays reign. The personnel has not been improved and we are reliant on loans to play left back with a long history of injuries. The air of stagnation at this club stinks, too easy for back pats when it's all going wrong. Not enough butting of heads, all too nice. Unfortunately it stems from the manager, and rightly or wrongly what we have seen from him for years. A new manager would have probably been able to get some slack for our injury crisis yesterday, Mowbray isn't afforded that as soon as we concede awful goals as he has consistently had an awful defence.
  6. Could be very bare on numbers come Saturday. Holtby is being given family time in Germany, Williams is isolating, Bennett has ankle ligament problems, Rankin-Costello misses out too. Today is COVID testing at the club and Evan's and Kaminski haven't yet arrived back at Brockhall so fingers crossed they are back in time to get tested, or have not picked up anything whilst away.
  7. Maybe, I know people seemed concerned that he was brought in on loan last year into the U23 set up, and I think Sharpe from the LT said it was just a pre loan before signing.
  8. Sorry if it's been covered in previous pages but I noticed last night Wright-Phillips was on the bench for City. I thought we loaned him last year with a view to signing him, anybody know what happened? I would assume loaning youth players to play youth football is rather unheard of.
  9. Hope to build on the Leicester game …. more likely to be like the season opener against Norwich a few years ago. Elliott Ward and Jason Steele still give me nightmares from that game!
  10. Whilst the statement reads exactly as expected, it simply reads the same as a utility company justifying a price hike.
  11. The only person who can change this situation at this moment is Charlie Mulgrew, he can mutually terminate his contract with the club. His lack of football shows he isn't in the managers plans and with our financial plight it's obvious he wants him out of the door. The fact he is still here shows he isn't happy with the severance offered to him. The ball really is in his court, football or money.
  12. The goals conceded last night summed up Mowbray demeanour now, half arsed! First goal not fully concentrating, second goal a lazy flick and the third you knew what was going to happen straight away. All so predictable. Nobody has a clue what the owners are going to do, I just hope its without Mowbray.
  13. It's all too nice for me, nobody falling out when things go wrong, no big bust ups. I very much see the running of the club from top to bottom as we will just keep riding this out for as long as we can and for as long as those idiots in India keep paying. It reminds me very much of the Sunderland documentary that no matter what happens on the pitch, in the transfer market, in the boardroom, it doesn't matter one jot as we will send a bill to India that gets paid (I'm not convinced it particularly gets paid more saddled with debt!) and they can all still enjoy the gravy train. Nobody involved with Blackburn Rover's current set up feel ANY ill effect of what happens. Mowbray should really be looking down the barrel for the signings of Gallagher and Brereton before we even start on any list of playing deficiencies. Waggott should be looking down the barrel for the drop in season ticket holders and attendances, and general crowd unrest. These two people who are at the very top of the tree at Ewood are so comfortable, they don't have to worry what happens on or off the pitch and that really worries me.
  14. We aren't stupid people, we all have bosses or lead in our day jobs and we all know when things go well the "team" self manages and everybody is happy. When things aren't going well the gaffer earns their money and finds a way of getting the best out of their team. Our gaffer seems completely incompetent when needing to rally the troops, the massive concern for me is they are ALL his troops!
  15. Absolute horror show, am I surprised .... not in the slightest!!
  16. We really do have some issue with getting into the Championship play offs, everytime we get anywhere near we throw in the worst possible performances!
  17. Also what people seem to forget is as of a couple of years ago these loans would have been going to the Steve Dale's of Bury and Ken Anderson's of Bolton. I'm convinced there are still people like these chaps in the game (erm us?!?) who would divert those hardship loans well away from their clubs for self gain. That cheque from whoever could be the lifeline for an owner to recoup some cash and run.
  18. Completely agree, in my humble opinion the whole of the EFL need to be back around a table tomorrow coming up with a plan for that very (probable) outcome. I don't actually think the Premier League will offer help, they need to steady their own leaking ship.
  19. Completely agree with this, I also genuinely believe that some of these conversations have taken place even before COVID. The problem comes from the powerful few do not want to relinquish any inch of power they have over the others. Hell not so Liverpool tried to copyright the word Liverpool, as did Man Utd with United.
  20. I have listened to most of the "price of football" podcasts which explains lots of the financials of football. The one or two seasons in the Premier League "and all its riches" does come across as a bit of an urban myth. It seems as soon as you get your Premier League cash, everybody is knocking at your door for bonuses, higher wages, infrastructure improvements, player purchase clauses costs and a whole host of things. It's a broken model I'm afraid. * That's also with the hope that owners who have blown £10's - £100 million dont want any of their cash back!!
  21. When you read those figures there surely can't be a sport hemorrhaging money like the English game. Surely we aren't far from a break away big boys Euro/World League then wage and spending caps for the rest to protect the future. A future that come next season will highly likely start without a few clubs.
  22. Looks like Sunderland may have been bought off the back of future parachute payments. It sums up the absolute mess that football is in at the moment. Clubs need people to lose money to sustain them, how much longer can people expect owners to fund the huge losses with personal wealth (I'm not defend Donald btw). https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/huge-repercussions-sunderland-sale-accounts-18225749.amp
  23. As others have said, well researched news content is chargeable these days and seen as a move from old school newspapers. The LT gain content from literally scouring Twitter and Facebook all day, then asking the picture owner (usually Lancs Police / Fire and Rescue) to use their picture. If all else fails, a good old google earth image will suffice! I do actually find Rich Sharpe's content pretty decent, certainly not £5 a month's worth though.
  24. It's over, trust me it's over. In its current state this club pays out an extra £34 for every £100 of income how can any fan of any club expect anybody to fund that. Reading FC now hold the unenviable record for the league of paying well over £200 of every £100. The fans are no better off, the clubs are no better off. Clubs cannot afford the wages, clubs cannot expect the answer to be to find somebody new to come in and lose a load more cash, something must change.
  25. Our friends down the road have admitted they face a £50m black hole if the season doesn't finish. £5m from home fixture lost revenue and £45m from TV. If that's how grim it is for a well run club (that isn't nice to say!), then how screwed are everybody else!! They may not be so quick to gloat soon.
