  1. I saw some extremely "derby game" like tackles coming from Burnley and didn't see any from ours, I think you know the point I was making.
  2. I thought we looked like an amateur team in the 1st round of the FA Cup who had no idea of how to lay a glove on the opposition. Watching them hurry us and the passes getting more and more ragged until we invariably shanked the ball out of play was absolutely humiliating for me. I stand by this comment, to me the ease with which they beat us today is more humiliating than how they would have felt when we beat them by 5, 20+ years ago. The team we beat them with that day was full of stars, today we got absolutely battered by Ashley Barnes!! I didn't witness one player for us with a set of balls to come and take the ball or at least kick some of their players back, as they won the fight as well as the game.
  3. The left back was Panzo, I agree thought he was excellent. On loan from Forest. Although Vale didn't help himself I thought he made him look like a schoolboy too!
  4. My overall thoughts on Travis would be if he was only able to play right back he wouldn't be a professional footballer. He lacks ability on the ball for range passing and creative passing to play full back. I highly rate him in central midfield for his tenacity and ball winning, I actually cringe watching him at full back as I rate him in the middle.
  5. I need to hold my hands up and admit I know absolutely nothing about football if there was a game plan there. How said "plan" lasted until the 80th minute without trying something new, like attempting some form of width. That is football that makes fans angry as there are no positives to take whatsoever!
  6. This is just getting bizarre, we have no right sided outlet and when we make something on the left Brittain and Diaz are next to each other with nobody in the box.
  7. Very tough watch that, incredibly poor. Jack Vale is being schooled by their defenders. Unless somebody starts carrying the ball forwards we stand no chance of scoring.
  8. This trying to play out from the back and playing tippy tappy passes around the back is starting to look as effective as playing hoof ball to a team of midgets!! That was about as tough a watch for out and out frustration as it gets for me.
  9. I agree with this, I have a much bigger issue on the other side that if Brittain is unavailable we have a back up of JRC, Travis or Buckley. The Trav at right back is a double blow due to missing his steel in the middle.
  10. Superb win for the boys, so many things to be happy with. I think the performance was very good after 20 minutes but the thing that gave me the most pride was the amount of academy lads in the squad and putting in very good performances. Wharton was outstanding. Carter looks like the Pompey loan did him the world of good. Dack will always have the ability to play a ball nobody else will see or can do. Hyam looked solid. Diaz was unplayable for their defence. Fair play to their keeper he made a few worldie saves!
  11. Woah, woah, woah. Less of that rational explaining, people won't like it!
  12. Beyond wanting to play a lofted through ball behind their defence I can't see any semblance of a plan. If there is any of the old Dack left we are desperate for him to get on the ball, didn't see much of him that half!
  13. It was absolutely barking mad, Joshua fought much better than the first fight and was going to leave with lots of credit. It was set to be a Usyk/Ukraine celebration then Joshua had one of his hissy fits. Eddie Hearn could see the pounds flying down the road when he grabbed the mic!!
  14. So proud of the boys! Can't ask anymore of the players or coaches. We are desperate for players now, these boys are pushing so hard it's not sustainable. Get some cash spent Venkys, the lads have proved they have the heart, they need some help to keep going.
  15. This feeling is awesome, COYB!! Superb stuff again, another clean sheet, happy bloody days!
  16. I shouldn't have! I can laugh now but at the time it was like a dagger to the heart ... also shows I hadn't read the last few pages but my memory was about right.
  17. Jason Lowe made me take a step back from taking football so seriously. It was the Brentford game he got the ball in the centre circle and started running and running towards the sideline, he didn't stop, he literally ran the ball from the centre circle out of play. I'd already fallen out with the wife that day as I was wound up about the relegation and thought, why the hell am I stressed about this sport when this guy is a professional and this bad.
  18. Scott Parker is having a good old moan at Bournemouth about their lack of transfers. Only signed 3 players, of which two including Rothwell are injured. They only have 3 central defenders too according to the report in The Telegraph. Financially bullied their way out of the Champ then stall in the Prem, weird.
  19. Some results just bring a smile to your face as a Rovers fan and today was one of them, this squad is about as decimated as any in Venkys regime. As decimated as it is they did all you could have asked of them as a fan, LABORE!
  20. Show him onto his right foot and he is completely ineffective. The Premier League worked that out last year and he had a very, very quiet season.
  21. Good stuff Glen, thank you. If I was Mr Sharpes editor at the LT I would be concerned how you can get more content out of the club than he can!
  22. I think what is being wildly missed on here is the fact that in the main your statement is correct. The current Championship transfer model is clubs with parachute payments spend money on the better quality Championship players, for which Joe Rothwell fell into this category but this bid got rejected. Clubs also have a punt year, looks like Middlesbrough this year where they spend money. The rest of the championship teams work on frees, loans, and small bids from lower leagues, abroad or youth squads. With the best intentions Nyambe and Lenihan fall into the bracket of "solid Championship player", these deals in the vast, vast majority end on Bosmans. The transfer market in the last few years shows no evidence that players like Nyambe or Lenihan go for the figures that are often banded about on here. like £3M.
  23. That seems incredibly low for a top Premier league keeper (as ridiculous as that sounds). If you are to believe some on here Lenihan isn't on too much of a dissimilar salary at Boro!
